Update V1.010

Hi All.

This latest release features a number of small updates that have been requested by the Community plus one of our own, as well as a bug fix and a minor improvement to the Search Dialog.

  • New Feature: Method to Manually Snap Camera to Player Unit.

We have added a new parameter to the Player Options that allows you to 'snap' the camera to a unit and override the 'Center Camera on Selected Unit' option. This allows you to move to/locate a unit that is off-screen with a single right-click on its Unit Card.

  • New Feature: Faster 'Recovered' Messages.

A new parameter in the Interface Options allows you to decide whether the messages that appear on your units when they recover at end of turn will be 'Staggered' or 'Simultaneous'. Note that in the latter case messages will overlap when units are close together.

  • New Feature: Easier 'Back to Base'.

A new Advanced Rule has been added to allow your party to return to base more easily. The rules for allowing the party to return to base are more stringent than those that allow the party to rest. This is to provide for more of a challenge in the game play. When this option is turned on, Rest and Back to Base follow the same rules. If the party can rest, it can go back to base.

  • New Feature: Option to Cancel Group Movement if Enemy Moves Into Sight.

A new parameter in the Group Movement Options allows you to decide whether Group Move should be turned off automatically if an unseen enemy unit moves into sight of the party.

  • New Feature: When Manually Saving, Retain the Save Name.

A new toggle on the Save Game Dialog will 'remember' what was typed in and automatically populate the save name field when you next next manually save.

  • New Feature: Add an Extra Filter to the Unit Inventory.

A new dropdown has been implemented on the Party Backpack when you are viewing a character's inventory. By default the new filter is set to 'Usable' so that only the items a unit can use are shown. This should significantly improve the drill-down to items when you want to change inventory.

  • Changed: End of Turn Search Dialog.

We have added the 'Advanced Rules' and 'Game Saves' buttons to the dialog, so you can now perform any function that can normally be done from the End of Turn Dialog even though it is turned off.

  • Fixed: Resolved an issue where Ability Charges (bought from the Training Hall), were not resetting at midnight during combat if the End of Turn dialog is turned off. [Community reported bug]

Please let us know if you have any problems with this update and we hope you enjoy the new improvements.

All the best.

Update V1.009

Hi Folks.

We have just released a small update to introduce a new feature (as requested on the Feature Changelog) and to fix a couple of community reported bugs. We have also improved the information available when using the 'Select' button on the Unit Dialog.

  • New Feature: Toggle the End of Turn (EOT) dialog.

We have added two new buttons to the bottom right of the battlefield. The first (marked 1 on the screenshot) will toggle the EOT dialog on or off.

The other is the Search button (marked 2 on the screenshot) which works in conjunction with the first button. If EOT dialog is on, the button will be unavailable. If the EOT dialog is off, then this button can be toggled between 'Search On' and 'Search Off'. When search is on, a new pop up will appear at the end of turn to allow you to set the searching for the party for the subsequent turns, as shown below.

After setting the search options for the party, the searching icon will display on each unit that is taking part in 'the search' as follows:

There is also a new parameter accessed via Screen Menu > Interface that allows you to set a flash message to appear if both EOT dialog and Search are off. The flash message will indicate that the AI has completed its turn, so you know that your turn is now active.

  • Changed: Better information available when you 'Select' a unit via the Unit Dialog.

When clicking the 'Select' button at the top-right of the unit dialog (shown above), the dialog displayed will now include additional information about each unit (HP, MP, XP and current Map Level) as follows:

  • Fixed: Fixed an issue when two snakes 'Constricted' the same unit at the same time and when they were killed did not release the constriction. Please note that if you have a unit already 'trapped' like this, you will need to restore to a point before the snakes attack. Sorry! [Community reported bug]

  • Fixed: The Power Sword was not calculating its 'Shock' damage correctly. [Community reported bug]

Please let us know if you have any problems with this update and we hope you enjoy the new improvements.

All the best.

Patch V1.008

Hi All.

We have just released a small update to introduce some new items (as requested on the Feature Changelog), fix a community reported bug as well as a couple of bugs found in internal testing.

  • New Feature: Throwing Weapons for Clerics/Battlemages.

We have added Culling Stone and Short Hammer to the item list as well as magical variants of both. In addition we have created magical variants of Dart and Throwing Spear, so that the Throwing Weapon class of items has more options.

  • Fixed: Player units will no longer accidentally move onto a 'spotted' trap (indicated by a man trap icon). This applies in single or group movement and your units will navigate around the trap if they can. Note that in many cases, going around is not possible and the trap will have to be disarmed or deliberately triggered. [Community reported bug]

  • Fixed: Corrected a glitch in the attack behavior when fighting flying units. [Internal bug]

  • Fixed: Fixed an issue where a ranged unit did not stop when using group movement set to 'Pause' and the unit comes within attack range of an enemy. [Internal bug]

Please let us know if you have any problems with this patch and we hope you enjoy the new weapons.

All the best.

Guides - New Tutorial

Hi All.

We have had a couple of queries about adding spells to the spellbook of Mages and Battlemages. So we have created a short tutorial in the Guides section to explain the basics. We hope it will prove useful.

Take care & all the best.

Patch V1.007

Hi Folks.

We are delighted to announce the release of the most requested new feature and a bug fix.

  • New Feature: Group Movement.

We have implemented a basic 'follow the leader' style of group movement which we hope will make moving the party across large distances more speedy and less tiresome.

Toggle the movement using the new button on the battlefield UI as indicated above. Move a single unit and the rest will try to follow it.

Note that this is still 'turn-based' so is not designed to just move the party from point A to a distant point B in one go. It should however, speed up movement by up to 6 times. We have found that the system is still very useful in confined spaces but please be aware that multiple passages/doors can lead to what might seem an illogical move by the occasional unit. It is also not intended to be a 'formation' move, so the exact positioning of each unit will vary.

We have implemented some Group Movement Options which can be accessed via the Main Menu Options or Screen Menu Options dialogs (see below).

Either of these new buttons will display the following dialog:

There is a good degree of 'help' available on this screen to explain the mechanics of group movement.

We will look to improve the movement in future updates, for example being able to move two groups of units independently on the same map level. For now we hope the new feature will improve your game play experience.

  • Fixed: Corrected Experience Point Allocation under certain circumstances when using 'pooling'. Any accumulated experience should automatically allocate on the next game turn and then accrue correctly thereafter. [Internal bug]

Please let us know if you have any problems with this patch and we hope you enjoy the new feature.

All the best.
