Ultimate Disc Golf 1.0.6 is Live

Version 1.0.6 of Ultimate Disc Golf is now live for all Steam users. You can find the full change-log below.

1) Bugfix / Enhancement: Added auto tap-in mechanic when a disc is parked right under the basket or lands on top of it. This will quicken the game-play a bit and also prevent the game breaking bug of teleporting into or on top of the basket.
2) Bugfix: Fixed bug where teleporting to first tee very quickly when the map loads would teleport player to absolute 0 on the map. A small teleport delay has been added to allow the map to fully load before enabling player teleport.
3) Bugfix: UI now shows correct disc name
4) Addition: New disc rating UI is now active just under main player UI
5) Addition: Disc ratings show when hovering over a disc in player bag
6) Enhancement: UI polishing of disc bag / inventory pop-up
7) Bugfix: Fixed scoring / celebrations on last 4 holes of Sunny Birch
8: Pressing "Q" and "E" on the keyboard will cycle through equipped discs
9: Bugfix: After finishing round the UI no longer shows an extra hole
10: Enhancement: Added ability to cancel throw even after already aiming
11: Change: Left Mouse Button will now be used for the "interact" actions such as starting a throw sequence
12: Enhancement: Hints system is now input device aware when using keyboard and mouse vs. gamepad (Some hints still need to reflect this change)
13: Enhancement: Target system is now active, pressing "R" on the keyboard will toggle auto tracking of the closest basket within the player's view.
14: Enhancement: Added setting to adjust look / camera sensitivity
15: Enhancement: Made some slight changes to gamepad controls for a more fluid experience.
16: Enhancement: Zooming the player camera in and out while using 3rd person view is now possible by scrolling the mouse wheel up or down

Ace Challenge

We're excited to have our first Ace challenge happening this weekend. Starting today and going through Sunday we'll be giving away free Steam keys to the first 3 players who post a screenshot of an Ace.

Remember when playing on Steam you can use f12 to take a screenshot, then just make sure to upload that to the UDG community hub.

Good luck!

Quarantine Day 1 Dev Stream - Level Building - Ultimate Disc Golf

We're doing a lot of de-bugging behind the scenes in preparation for version 1.0.6, so to switch gears we'll be doing a live dev stream showing some work on one of the next courses in Ultimate Disc Golf.

Birdie Challenge

With most major sporting events including major Tier A disc golf tournaments now being cancelled or postponed we thought it would be nice to have a challenge event to have a bit of fun.

For the next 2 days anyone who posts a Steam screenshot of a round that is all birdies or better will be rewarded a Steam key for UDG to give to a friend :)

If you know someone who is a gamer that is a bit down with everything going on maybe this is a good chance to introduce them to the sport a bit by giving them a lifetime key to UDG.

Once you complete the challenge press "B" on the keyboard to bring up your scorecard, then press F12 to take a Steam screenshot.

Good luck!

Version 1.0.5 Is Live

The next release of Ultimate Disc Golf (1.0.5) is now live. It includes several additions and enhancements such as an inventory system, and 9 total discs to choose from :).

For those just curious about the game and have not purchased through early access we invite you to try it free when it becomes available through our Itch.io page in about 24-32 hours.

1.0.5 Changelog:

1) Enhancement: Added inventory system!
2) Enhancement: Polished camera effects for celebration cinematic
3) Enhancement: Added contextual hints that can be turned on or off through the game settings and will work on any level (more hints still need to be added). This should greatly improve the experience for first-time players.
3) Enhancement: Added several new discs that now include stable and under-stable
4) Bugfix: Dusty canyon will now correctly use the "time of day" setting in single player mode.
5) Bugfix: changing resolution in game settings should be working properly now
6) Addition: Base putter model has been completed and is now being used for all putters in the game.
7) Enhancement: The thicker bushes now use a CameraDepthFade that will fade their leaves out when close to the camera making much easier to recover a disc and throw from within the bushes.
8) Testing first "fancy" inventory icons for discs
9) Bugfix: Holding the aim button before starting the next throw would result in the trajectory and power meter not triggering. Equipping a disc while holding the aim button first is now prevented by an internal check and a contextual message has been added.
10) Enhancement: It's now possible to enable or disable the mini-map through the game settings. This should give a decent performance boost on lower end hardware
11) Bugfix: Basket chains now have a more realistic "sway" and also won't become possessed. Hitting the chains with your character repeatedly can still cause a slight visual bug but not nearly as bad.
12) Performance: removed tesselation from landscape on Breezy Pines
