Changes:
Improved database loading error catching and added more information to it.
The cooking window now closes if you move too far from the utensil.
Improved Save/Load screen feedback.

Bugfixes:
You no longer urge to eat any item that you don't want to cook anymore.
You no longer float over roads.

Friday Progress Report 241

Following our roadmap plans we have focused this week on bugfixing, specially on the bug report feature which is in the 3rd iteration at this point, but should work properly now.

Phase 1 – Post Launch

Main Focus: bugfix, having more people play the game will expose bugs and problems we didn’t find ourselves, we expect to have plenty hairy bugs to fix in the following weeks after launch
Other Content: I will be adding new crops while my brother manages the bugs, if we need new assets or other UI QoL changes I will do that instead.



The Stevia plant is halfway done, I took more creative freedoms in making this plant because I wanted it to look more bushy

Next week will be more of the same, the bug list is still quite long.

After we are done with the more serious bugs we want to implement new Crop traits:

-Pot Trained: the plant is adapted to vases, lower nutrient use while in a vase by 25/50/75/100%
-Adjacency effects: does not work in vases, affect all adjacent plots (companion plants)
-Auto-sow: automatically sow seeds in the same spot after a kill harvest, also speed first two stages by 10/20/30/40%
-Traits that affect tastes and nutrition of ingredients
-Traits that add ingredient effects or tags

After these we are either going to look into workshop support or a remake of the cooking UI

Also I want to thank everyone making content and posts about the game, even if this first week was very disappointing sales-wise I am glad that the few fans we have are so dedicated, It is very satisfying to know someone enjoys the game we are making.

Bugfixes:
Changed how XML load failure is handled. It is now less likely for that to completely break the game and there will be more information to bugfix it.
Added the correct pdb files in the correct places so that the game generates useful stacktraces

Features:
Can Opt out of automatic exception collection
Added a language select inside Gameplay Options. Not all language changes happen instantly so restarting the game is advised.
Added joke "pirate" language as an example translation file.
Added basil plant
Added a GameFlags type of XML data that can be used to change parts of the game, mostly related to balancing, through mods
Added GameFlags FoodGainMultiplier that changes how much food feeds.

Bugfixes:
Fixed an issue with plants using old IDs to generate data that could break saves when new plant data is addded
Fixed Unity cloud exceptions when not connected to the internet or blocking Unity analytics through firewall
Added failsafes for NPC actions
Added failsafes for bug reporting
Added failsafes for quest tooltip
Removed spaces inside xml tags on some files
Fixed working on "Manage Crops" showing as "Relaxing"
Fixed npcs rushing out of beds or chairs in strange positions when the game is paused.

Changes:
The game executable now has an Icon
Removed Dried ingredient requirement from Sushi and Flour recipes until the Dry Ingredient recipe is fixed
Moved away from Development Builds and implemented a bug tracker to notify the user if an exception was not caught.
Moved away from Unity Cloud Reporting due to it lacking the ability to let the user opt out of the collection
Also moved away from Unity User Reports because the new system has much bigger free limits anyways

LAUNCH DAY

Today is Launch day!

We launched a patch yesterday with several bug fixes and the implementation of the save patch system, so if you played the game before we recommend starting a new game, from now on we will try as much as possible to make patches save-compatible.



Features:
NPCs can now plant crops based on a calendar
Cutting grass can now give random seeds
Added a compass
Added the Sage plant
Save Versioning Implemented, earlier version saves might not work, but should from this point onwards

Changes:
Fixed the sun position
Added feedback when you can't eat some items
Improved NPC AI on fast speeds
NPCs will now actually try to resume what they were doing after save/load
Cooked items are automatically named just like quest items
Cooked items can now be eaten from the tool bar
Rewrote bug reporting to use Unity's Cloud Services

Bugfixes:
Fixed pots not working or making particles when destroyed
Fixed an issue with raw preparation, removing the raw penalties using cooking points
Fixed being able to eat items being fermented
Fixed not getting secondary recipe items, like the stock from boiled
Fixed multiple issues when playing with grass disabled
Fixed multiple grass crop related issues.

Also there will be a 15% launch discount for a week.



Basil plant is being worked on, should be done by next patch.
