Friday Progress Report 183

We are focusing on finishing the demo before the end of the year, even if it is not complete we WILL release a demo this month, if we are unnable to finish all we want the demo will be available at our devblog, we will only upload a new demo here on steam when all demo features we want are finished.

We are making larger fields to test out, we found some more bugs, but they are being fixed.

What we plan for the demo is the complete cooking system, the farming system and a simple shop for the player to buy ingredients/seeds and sell cooked food, this last part is probably not going to be ready this month, since we are finding bugs nonstop and are focusing on making the demo stable.

So we will release this month on the devblog and if we fail to finish everything the steam demo release will be in January (probably the trailer will also be delayed), if we manage to finish all the same demo will be available both on steam and in the blog.

After that we will rework the UI, fix the city mesh, rework the girls models, the animation system and make the Girls AI so they can be interacted with and we can have an actual game for the December early access release

Friday Progress Report 182

It is still not as good as I want it, but we are running low on time...

Just need to improve the ones that are still looking horrible and I can start recording.

We finished the tooltip switch, it will be better when we transfer the UI to the Unity Toolkit (ignore the scientific notation on the bottom right)

Other than this we only got more bugfixes this week.

Friday Progress Report 181

I have added the new expressions to the models and they look nice, but some of the animations need a lot of work due to clipping issues mostly (I also noticed how most of the furniture look gigantic because i had used Adam as reference and forgot he is very tall). The trailer still needs a lot of work.

My brother has fixed some bugs on crop harvesting and greatly improving the tiling, you can now safely chain hoe tiles and see clearly where you are tiling

The yellow marker shows the tile being placed while the cursor retains the green color

He is now working on the seed/ingredient tooltip since we will be using the old UI for the demo/trailer and it is a clusterfuck right now

Friday Progress Report 180

Finished most animations... and then noticed how much clipping happens in the clothing on some parts...

So I went into blender to fix the issues and when I came back to unity.... this happens

Thats some Friday 13 stuff alright...

Worse part is that even after reverting all changes to the blender file the Unity models remain fucked, we are exhausting possible fixes and in the worst case I will have to delete the entire project and download it back from Github.

On my brother's side he managed to fix all memory leaks, which broke some other stuff since he had to change the structure of some systems, specially the grass, so he is also not having good luck this week. Sorry for the negative report, it has been a really stressful month.

Friday Progress Report 179

In preparation for the end of year demo we are still trying to make the game as stable as possible, we found problems with occlusion (the game is trying to draw stuff that is behind walls) and this is causing our furniture to lag out the game a lot, so we are working to fix it.

For the trailer I prepared more facial expressions and I am now making the extra animations we need, but nothing is finished, so there isn’t anything to show right now.

This week is a short report, sorry.
