Shadowforge News

Did you know this (Pro)?

When you're done with your vector drawings on each layer, you can delete your vectors until you reach the depth seed and then press "Y" to record in gif. Now all you need to do is press "R" to return the vector drawings starting from seed to the end and then press "Y" again to stop the recording and save it on file.

Like this.

Known issues

If you don't change depth often and draw a lot of sprites on the screen, the client crashes.

It seems to lag a lot more than before. But it's the IDE of this engine that does it because it seems to have a limit of 32 000 sprites per layer, and it prolongs the process for it to crash.

This was tried with the engines microsoft visual c++ compiler, where there were no lags, but the maximum number of sprites was exceeded on the layer.

I don't know if I can fix this, or wait for the engine developers to fix their IDE. I thought I'd let you all know about this.

Shadowforge 1.2.2

  • Fixed Erase mode display message.
  • You don't need to draw first to scale your brush.
  • Fixed erase bug.

What happens if you reach -999 depth

What will happen is that your image will be saved to a png in the softwares directory, and then you will restart from depth 0. This should make Shadowforge have unlimited depth.

Drawing with alpha color you can do this

If you want to get the form of something you'd like to draw. You can do that with Shadowforge. First, you open up a picture. Then you put the alpha value really low, like 0.03. Then you draw any color over it, and if you want it to be like the picture below, then pick Blend Sprite to Sprite after drawing with any color, and it'll have this gray color to it.

I missed drawing the entirety of it, but it should look like this.

And here is the real picture (which was shaded with the Shadowforge gameboy shader).
