Starship Troopers: Extermination Development Update (September 2025)
Hey Troopers,
[p] Hopefully, everyone is enjoying update 1.6 and diving deep into the galactic front to fight back against the Bug. That one was a massive lift from the team, and we’re already hard at work behind the scenes on the next update. Our director has been testing new spawn combinations, and thanks to server-side adjustments, we’ve been able to squash issues faster than ever before.[/p][p]But enough about 1.6 - Let’s talk about what’s next.[/p][p][/p]
Update 1.7 arrives at the end of October, and it’s a big one.
[p] For the first time since launch, we’re adding a brand-new map that rivals Agni and Planet X-11 in scale. Only this time, it’s not a planet. Troopers, prepare yourselves for the fight of your life within the walls of the Sparta.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]The Sparta is a massive spaceship. Every deck, corridor, and compartment is crawling with Bugs. There’s nowhere to hide, and the mission is clear: take back the ship from the Arachnid menace. General Rico’s SOG teams are already aboard, fighting tooth and nail to secure a foothold, but they’re outnumbered and need the DSV’s support.[/p][p]On the Sparta, Troopers will be able to deploy into AAS, Horde, Hive Hunt, and SOG Missions.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]One final thing, Troopers: For all the latest Sparta and Scorpion news, we strongly recommend you check that you are signed up for our newsletter! Info will be dropped soon for troopers to learn about the upcoming fight coming to the Federation.[/p][p]We can’t wait for you to get your hands on this update. Thanks again for all your support.[/p][p][/p]
Troopers stay sharp out there. - \[O] PMO
[p][/p][p][/p]

Starship Troopers Extermination copies Left 4 Dead's neatest trick in new update

Back when Left 4 Dead came out in 2008, one of its most notable features was an AI game system referred to as the 'Director.' This Director worked to keep the co-op game fresh, no matter how many times players shot and slashed through its levels, by dynamically adjusting elements like item and enemy spawn points or music cues based on individual player skill and status. Now, in an effort to improve player experience in a similar way, the Helldivers 2-style co-op game Starship Troopers: Extermination has added in its own version of L4D's director through a new update.

Starship Troopers: Extermination has always had a bit of "we have Helldivers 2 at home" energy; ironic considering how much Helldivers 2 channels the tone and ideas of the Paul Verhoeven film Extermination is based upon.
