Of Spring Update. Part 4

Good Lords, Fair Ladies, greetings!

Our story about the upcoming Spring update for Diplomacy is Not an Option continues. So today we're going to tell you about the Sandbox mode.

Once you start a game in Sandbox mode, the opening screen will give you a choice of options to customize the session you're going to play. One of the key settings is choosing a map from the list. We used map presets from other modes as a basis. The preset defines the size and landscape of the map, as well as the enemy faction of the enemy camps. In the rest, the Sandbox allows complete freedom of creativity.

It is you who sets the number of deposits and starting resources, who determines the army you are given at the start, and who decides whether to remove or keep enemy camps. You can also choose any of the existing environments in the game to visually transform the already familiar map.

There are no victory conditions in Sandbox mode. You can play as much as you want, and you can set your own goals. As for the battle against the enemy, the moment of attack, the size of the enemy's army, and even the direction of the attacks are also controlled by you. Want to be attacked by both Undead and Royal army at once? No problem. Want the Rebels to attack from the North and the Nightmare Generals to come at you from the South? Be our guest. You can set up an enemy attack after the map is generated by opening a special window. Try your hand at experimenting and creating.

In the future, we plan to add more content to the Sandbox mode and hope to do so before Diplomacy is Not an Option leaves Early Access.
With that, we end our story for today. Thank you very much for your time. See you soon!

Of Spring update. Part 3

Good lords, fair ladies!

We keep revealing details about the upcoming Spring update. So today we're talking about the Guard towers, which will soon arrive in Diplomacy is Not an Option.

There are 6 of them. They differ in size (usual and massive) and in level (first through third). Each upgrade of the Townhall unlocks Guard towers of a higher level.

Moving on to the point. Guard towers are engineering structures, so their armor type is 'Civilian building'. They are noticeably less durable than both, Wood and Stone towers, but cost less. Most importantly, Guard towers are higher. This advantage allows ranged troops and war machines to hit targets at a greater distance. Essentially, you get a great toolkit to build your second line of defense.

The new content didn't fit in the current interface. So we made a separate tab in the construction menu, 'Additional defense'. That's where you can find Guard Towers and Traps. Also, we renamed the old 'Defense' category to 'Fortifications' for easier navigation through the armor types of your defense structures.

Lastly, here's a quick visual overview of how to use Guard towers in combat.

About the Spring Update. Part 2 (and a Weeklong deal)

Good Lords, fair ladies!

A quick announcement, if you please. This week, April 10th-17th, 2023, Diplomacy is Not an Option is 20% off. If you missed previous sales, now is a great opportunity to make up for that and buy our game at a lower price.

Moving on to other news. More precisely, we continue our story about the upcoming Spring update. Today it's high time to talk about traps.

Once you've built Town Hall III, you'll be able to place in your enemies' path Barrel mines. As the name hints, these are Barrels containing explosives. The most "smart" medieval weapon you can ever imagine. Absolutely invisible to the enemy and equipped with the "friend-or-foe" recognition system. Your troops and civilians can walk on these barrels freely. But once an enemy steps on the mine, it will explode. The short damage radius is compensated by the impressive damage rate.

The second level of the Town Hall unlocks the Slowing trap. Basically, these are stakes sticking out of the ground that reduce the enemy's movement speed. While enemies are trying to make their way through a Slowing trap, it slowly loses durability. Sooner or later, the trap will break. Unfortunately, these stakes cannot be repaired.

The new Pipes inside walls research gives all your stone fortifications the Boiling oil perk. The skill is passive and has a cooldown. Portions of boiling oil will be poured on the heads of enemies attacking your stone fortifications, dealing a lot of damage to enemies right under the pipe and a little less to enemies nearby.

That's all we wanted to tell you about for now. Thank you very much for your attention. See you next time!
