Steam Update - Inventory changes & more Leaderboards!

Inventory Converted into one window
Should auto refresh slots on equip/unequip of containers

When looting an item, without the skill to equip it, it should now go to your bags

Quickbars: When a player now deletes a character, it should delete all of their quickbar files

Quickbars: Spells players cannot use should not be added to the quickbar

[h2]Render Distance (Experimental)[/h2]



By popular demand, we've implemented a way to improve the render distance of objects on the client. You'll find a new slider in Settings -> Graphics which will allow you to adjust your distance from 25 to 100 tiles

NOTE: This is an experimental feature and may cause the client to crash. We recommend slowly increasing the value to find a balance of performance and quality.

[h2]New Monster: Troll Sage[/h2]

Added troll sages - A goblinoid creature that communes with the trees around them. They are strong amongst the trees, but if you separate them, you'll feel their wrath.

Monster Resistance Tweaks

Monster resists and weaknesses were a bit aggressive for open world, so we tuned them back a bit and will ramp them in future endgame content. We may tweak these values for primordial spirits and other mobs - expect more improvements

Capped Resistances to 25% damage reduction
Capped Weaknesses to 25% additional damage taken
Modified weaknesses and resistances for most monsters

[h2]Miscellaneous[/h2]

  • Minimum character name length set to 2 characters
  • Non-HC deaths will no longer trigger a death message
  • Server stability improvements
  • HC will no longer be removed on death in Training Grounds
  • Item on Ground Despawn Timer reduced to 3 minutes from 30 minutes
  • Caravan Spawns disabled while they get reworked
  • Switching Gear in Combat bug fixed
  • Spell Type has been added to all tooltips (Spell vs. Ability)
  • Removal of excessive colliders and geometry in Solitary Isles, which may improve performance in the area
  • Re-ran the Icon Update script, which should ensure items have visible icons
  • Disabled some settings on lights in game which could cause deterioration of performance
  • Open Nearby Corpses renamed to Open Loot Windows
  • Currency should now stack properly in corpses
  • Trade Packs should no longer be bankable
  • Dropped Items (Or on death) should retain previous ownership if a player logs out/dies
  • Items dropped on ground due to failed add item conditions should now hold previous ownership and game mode settings.
  • Hardcore players should only be able to trade with Hardcore players
  • Hardcore players should only be able to party with Hardcore players

[h2]Book of Knowledge[/h2]



Completing a Monster Hunter Task will now reward you with a Book of Knowledge. This Book can be used to apply skill XP to Melee, Ranged, Magic, Light, Medium, or Heavy -- or, you can gain XP toward your character level!

[h2]Water Lighting Improvements

Water previously was unaffected by light after moving to Unity 6. Now, we've updated the water shaders to react to light. This brings the aesthetic together a lot better than before! Hope you like it.

Multi-Directional Movement Animations

We've added directional movement for all weapons, so things should feel a lot more fluid/natural now! These animations aren't the final versions, but are better than moonwalking!

We often make items in honor of our most dedicated and loyal players. Jasc O Nine joins Scabbybob [TM] The Greener and more who have something special in game to thank them for being amazing and helpful as we build the game

Jasconian Rings - one for each gathering profession have been added as rare drops - With a special secret if you collect them all

A new zone has been added to the game, featuring content for 15-21 and 30-34 with mobs, quests, and lots of humor

Chisme describes it as "An ecosystem of fungal life and mysterious darkness." Good luck!

  • Fixed an issue where Eternal Tools would sometimes fail to gather resources due to the speed being too fast
  • Fixed an issue where Fire Imbuements were not calculating the correct damage for Zealots
  • Fixed an issue where Zealots of Alphyrion did not have the correct armor value
  • Fixed an issue where Elementalist applied status effect logic was not working correctly
  • A few Feygold nodes added near Grimbear spawns
  • A few Palladium nodes added near Slimestone Spiders
  • All Tasks are now shown on the Taskboard rather than randomly selected tasks
  • Interrupting an enemy or player will now trigger a 1s CD at minimum
  • "Member has come online / gone offline" message now appears in system chat when a guild member logs in
  • Server-side logic cleanup + debugging improvements
  • Monsters that die on a different layer than they spawn will now properly respawn when killed
  • Fixed a bug with coins stacking multiple times in bags
  • When overweight, movespeed is now reduced by 90% instead of 80%. This may not be enough, so let us know any feedback on this!
  • Added code to prevent hostile actions between guildies
  • The HC status effect should now apply to both HC and HCIM properly
  • Party member details should now be visible throughout the entire map instead of when the party members are nearby. We are working on eventually passing information cross-map too
  • More SFX added to monsters for death and hit triggers
  • Player collider tightened to fit the form of the player instead of extend far to the sides
  • Movement fluidity improvements
  • Implemented code to prevent higher floors from culling in weird ways, specifically this will be noticeable on mountains
  • The Camera will now collide with more objects and zoom in closer to the player when necessary
  • 5 New Rare monsters have been added - killing them may drop some epic loot!
  • Right-click stutter bug fixes
  • Hitboxes will no longer be ovular
  • Friendly/Hostile targeting improvements
  • More flashbang fixes

The Latest Steam Patch is now live! : Ironman & Hardcore Ironman

[h2]Ironman & Hardcore Ironman[/h2]



Sprocket went hard and rolled out the backend details needed for Ironman and HCIM - when you create a character with these modes, you will have a GameMode icon next to your name, mouseover tooltip, and soon inside of the Chat Box too.

Ironman = No Trading, Partying, Interaction w/ Other Players
Hardcore Ironman = Death means reverting to a standard Ironman

Hardcore is also available, and we've heard you - we will make Hardcore-earned items only tradeable between Hardcore characters and allow grouping.

Bug/Misc Fixes

  • Various Items requirements or damage scaling values fixed
  • Added a bunch of logging and server crash handling
  • New Icons for Residue
  • Coatings now produce 3 at a time from 1 weapon oil
  • Bug fixes with chests
  • T1-T3 Task bug fixes
  • Apple of Persistence made back into a normal item
  • Mail system should be fixed for receiving items sent by the server (not sending to/receiving from others)
  • Hunter's Crossbow made level 40 stats
  • Items should now loot to backpacks first
  • Shift+B and B should now open/close all bags
  • Steam should now retry multiple times to fetch a ticket. In the event it fails you can hit "Login" again to manually retry. Trashman came in clutch here!
  • Need/Greed Popups now only appear on Green or higher rarity items
  • Context Menus simplified
  • Shift+LClick links items in chat
  • Skills now appear alphabetically


XP Gain Tweaks

We've heard your feedback and added the following:

Healing players now grants some armor XP
Spells with Melee range will now grant melee XP, provided you are using a melee weapon
The combat log will no longer show "+0 xp"

Some issues may occur with these changes so let us know if anything odd happens

Zealots of Alphyrion

Chisme put together a new mob area for you to check out! These baddies are plate-wearing battlemages.



Leaderboard Improvements



Sprocket has put together an update to the leaderboards! They are still a bit of a work-in-progress so let us know if you have any feedback or thoughts!

Legendary Weapon Progress

Clebarius has been hard at work on the new 'Draconic' themed legendary weapons. Take a look at some of the epic gear he's put together for everyone to earn in the future.







Deadlands Raid Task

We've implemented a new Group Task to the Taskboards, this should give an extra benefit to hitting The Deadlands trash and bosses every so often
We've reduced drop rates for the gear in this location



New Quests

'Cheese Thieves' pt. 1 & 2 can be found in the Edrivine area
'Tower for the Grate Frame' & 'The Old Scrap' can be found outside south Edrivine
These quests implemented by our new Intern, @Morgan! Give him a warm welcome to the OG team

Stacking Nameplates/Infobars

We've enabled stacking nameplates to make it substantially easier to see enemies and friends when in the heat of battle. Nameplates will no longer overlap each other and instead 'Stack' so you can easily see what is happening

'Disable Hostile Context Menu' will prevent right click from triggering a context menu
Disable Backpedal will allow the character to run in all directions
White Dmg Numbers will turn damage text white
FOV Slider added

State Floating Text



Added floating text to appear when applying or receiving certain states, such as "Rooted" or "Silenced"

Backpack Quantity Adjustments
Hardened Backpacks to 18 slots
Reinforced Backpacks to 20 slots
Corrupted Backpacks to 22 slots
