Dev Log – What's Cooking

[p]Hi everyone,[/p][p]Not sure if you've had a chance to take down Lord Necromancer Volak and his undead Grimlegion from our last major update, but while you've been breaking bones, we've been busy in Copenhagen cooking up the next exciting update for Successor! And we're ready to reveal a few details.[/p][p][/p]
New Hero: The Druid
[p]A mysterious wildling, the Druid lives deep in the forests, far from civilization. Shy and elusive, she rarely shows herself—but when cornered, she becomes a force of nature. In battle, she summons beasts of the mangrove and entangles foes in thorny roots.[/p][p][/p][p]Alongside her arrival come new quests and challenges:[/p]
 • [p]Life Among the Dead[/p]
 • [p]The Warden's Gift[/p]
[p]New loot tied to the Druid includes:[/p]
 • [p]Mace of Entanglement – grants one of her signature abilities[/p]
 • [p]Bed of Flowers – a mystical trinket[/p]
 • [p]Vest of Thorns – protective for you and punishing for others[/p]
[p]These items offer powerful new options to mix into your next conquest.[/p][p][/p]
UI Improvements: Campaign, Adventure & Challenges
[p]We're working on a layout overhaul for both the Campaign and Adventure Mode selection pages inside the Player Handbook. We've noticed that Adventure Mode isn't as visible as it should be, even though it's a core pillar of the Successor experience. Therefore, we aim to make this more accessible and integrated into your journey.[/p][p][/p][p]We're also improving the Challenge page to make it easier to track your progress and see what's left to conquer.[/p][p][/p]
New Feature: Faction Ruler Crowns
[p]We're adding Trophies that reward you for conquering enemy rulers, starting with Faction Crowns earned by defeating faction rulers in the Adventure Mode conquests.[/p][p]Here's a sneak peek at the Calsey and Blackrock crowns![/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Introducing: Region Events
[p]Region Events bring opportunities and danger to the region map. With each step your Lord takes, the chance to trigger an event increases. These events can directly affect your party, influence upcoming battles, or present unexpected obstacles in your path.[/p][p][/p][p]The goal is to make the region maps feel more dynamic, alive, and unpredictable.[/p][p]We plan to expand this system with Biome- and Faction-specific events, making each region feel even more distinct and responsive to your surroundings.[/p][p][/p]
Summer Sale: Get Wartile FREE with the Bundle!
[p]The Steam Summer Sale is nearly over! If you grab the Wartile & Successor Bundle, it's like getting Wartile for free (Wartile is 85% off, and the Bundle adds an additional 15% off). Perfect if you're curious about where our love for diorama strategy games all began![/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p]Thank you for all your support, we hope you're enjoying the summer. We'll be back very soon with more news and updates.[/p][p][/p][p]Best regards,[/p][p]The Playwood Project Dev Team[/p]

Small Hotfix 0.8.1.4

[p]We just released a small hotfix 0.8.1.4[/p][p][/p]
 • [p]Fixed Shield Slammer - it should work now[/p]
 • [p]Fixed Sanctuary Relic (Priest upgrade) - it should heal friendly units now[/p]
 • [p]Fixed issue where wrong region map textures was loaded[/p]
[p]\We had a report about Archer dealing 0 damage, but could not reproduce. This could be due to the enemy wearing heavy armor and a big shield that are especially strong vs arrow damage. Flanking and high ground may increase damage enough to draw blood from a tanky enemy.\[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]

Plague of Bones is out!

[p][/p][p]Hi everyone[/p][p]It's finally here: our first significant update for Successor![/p][p]This update introduces an all-new campaign, a powerful new hero, fresh side quests, and challenges packed with fantastic loot.[/p][p]There's a lot of new content to explore, and we hope this conquest will be both thrilling and rewarding. [/p][p][/p]
New Campaign: Plague of Bones
[p]Undead legions rise as the ancient lich Volak returns from the Abyss. Battle through cursed graveyards, blighted mountains, and bone-strewn battlefields as you face the Grimlegion with their twisted necromancers, relentless bone throwers, and horrors bound by dark magic. [/p][p][/p]
New Hero: The Inquisitor
[p]A devout enforcer of the Owl of Athena, the Inquisitor serves the High Priest with unshakable faith. Clad in heavy armor and wielding a massive greatsword, she excels in cleansing the unholy. Though less effective against ranged foes, her wrath is unmatched against the undead.[/p][p]Best paired with Gwenn and against factions like the Grimlegion, Dregg, and Darkmoon.[/p][p][/p][p]Blinding Litany[/p][p]Focuses divine power on a single enemy, blinding them to reduce their attack power and weakening their resistance to further punishment.[/p][p]Zealot Attack [/p][p]Leaps across the battlefield to strike with holy force, damaging nearby enemies on impact and sending them reeling with a brief stun.[/p][p]Trait: Smite Evil [/p][p]Unholy enemies near the Inquisitor suffer reduced armor. Slaying them restores health to all allied heroes.[/p][p][/p]
New Side Quest
[p]Jacky the Pyro[/p][p]Farms are burning, and Jacky’s goons are to blame.[/p][p]Track down the Blackrock Madman before the flames consume everything.[/p][p]Bloodmoon Rituals[/p][p]Darkmoon cultists are abducting villagers and warping their minds.[/p][p]Uncover their ritual sites and stop the sacrifices before it’s too late.[/p][p]The Inquisitor[/p][p]On a holy crusade, she hunts the roots of corruption buried deep in the realm.[/p][p][/p][p]Some of the new items unlocked through completing quests and challenges are Greatsword, Dagger & Bow of Fire. Spear, dagger, and bow of Fell. The Bow of Stone Rain[/p][p][/p]
New Kicker: Rigor Mortis
[p]Corruption seeps from every crack in the earth, reanimating the long-dead and dragging forgotten bones back to war.[/p][p][/p][p]Here are a few bug fixes and other improvements. [/p]
 • [p]Improved Waterfall scenario[/p]
 • [p]Banner for Neutral Factions[/p]
 • [p]Fixed wrong modifiers on Shield Maiden dilemmas[/p]
 • [p]Added sacrifice ability to Darkmoon Lord[/p]
 • [p]Reduced hp wild tusk beast-master[/p]
 • [p]Fixed issue where enemy units with 0hp could not die[/p]

 • [p]Fixed cases where caves did not spawn any enemies. [/p]
 • [p]The priest healing totem should now heal units.[/p]
[p][/p][p]Save 15% on the Wartile Games Collection Bundle.[/p][p]Wartile is 85% off and bundled with Successor; you get Wartile for free for the price of Successor. [/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p]This concludes our update for now, but we assure you that we are already working hard on the next update. Hotfix 0.07.38.10

Situations can arise in which an objective is not resolved in fights against the Blackrock bandits and the Dregg Spore Sprout.

We have nerfed some of their abilities to reduce the chance of bugs appearing until we have a more solid fix.

 • Mind control now happens often, with a bit more range, but the effects are shorter.
 • Blackrock will not use escape jump anymore, and they will jump less.
 • Calsy crossbowmen should not be invisible anymore.
 • The enemy modifier does not clear out when turning out the fire from a Campfire, so we nerfed the modifier a bit for now.

If you find yourself stuck in the many or in a battle board, please report it to us here or with the Bugs & Feedback button in the top left corner. - to work around it - Quit to Menu and press Continue from the front menu, this should bring you back.

Best regards
