UI Update Part 5 - Rates, Ground Station and Map updates

[p]This is Part 5 of the EreaDrone Road to 1.0 UI Update! Last time, we brought you a complete overhaul of our Map & Track Browsers.[/p][p][/p][h2]📈 More Rates, better menu![/h2][p][/p][p]EreaDrone now supports all of the rates available in BetaFlight. We've also fixed some issues that were previously present in the Rates menu.[/p][p]Supported rates:[/p]

  • [p]QuickRates (new)[/p]
  • [p]Raceflight (new)[/p]
[p]There's also cursors now, that show how your controller responds to the rates, per individual axis, and a drone preview to test how the rates feel. You can now also copy/paste profiles.[/p][p]For those who want it, we implemented the throttle limit function, that either clips or scales your throttle input depending on the percentage you set.[/p][p]You can quickly open this menu by pressing P at any time (rebindable in the settings).[/p][p][/p][h2]đŸ—ŧ Say Hello to Ryfty![/h2][p]When flying, there will now be a cute little ground station next to your spawn, called Ryfty! It's where your antenna is, so keep that in mind when using a VTX filter.[/p][p][/p][p]Don't worry, it won't interfere when flying, it has no hitbox and fades away when you get near.[/p][p][/p][h2]🎡 Carpark & Chateau Open Door day[/h2][p]Some new holes have appeared on the Chateau map, and you can now fly in new locations that were previously inaccessible.[/p][p][/p][p]This tower was previously completely blocked, but now you can do tricks inside it! There are many other places [/p][p][/p][p]In Carpark, we opened up a lot of the doors that were previously closed, including the elevator shaft and the stairwells![/p][p]In the underground floor, some of the vent covers were removed. I wonder if you could fly into it... 🤔[/p][p][/p][p]We also improved the collisions on some environment props, so you can now fly where you couldn't before![/p][p][/p][h2]🔧 Bug fixes and improvements[/h2]
  • [p]Fixed some issues preventing the Offline Mode popup showing up when starting the game offline[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue that spawned the drone on the environment spawn point instead of the Freestyle map spawn, and allowed to select a spawn other than the specified one[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue that caused the default values not being correctly reset when switching between rate types[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where the Race Path was sometimes not visible when it was rendered with water in the Harbour environment[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the Race Path being hidden by the triggers in the Track Editor when in Checkpoint mode[/p]
  • [p]Reduced Bloom effect in most environments, especially Alpine[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the Motor% OSD element sometimes displaying incorrect information in Direct mode[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the Throttle Mid/Expo sometimes not being correctly applied[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the Tutorials list not loading in all the tutorials[/p]
  • [p]Fixed some lighting issues in Carpark[/p]
  • [p]Fixed some misplaced rocks in Island[/p]
  • [p]Fixed lag spikes on startup[/p]
  • [p]Fixed Fish Eye effect still being enabled when using 3rd Person or LOS[/p]
  • [p]Max altitude is now 7500 instead of 3500m. You can now fly as high as Everest on Alpine![/p]

Fly with the Devs #5 Tournament

Compete in the Challengers #4 - Huracan Race!

UI Update Part 4 - New improved Map and Track Browser

[p]This is Part 4 of the EreaDrone Road to 1.0 UI Update! Last time, we brought you new OSD elements, Analog and Digital VTX filters and a music player. Now, we made a big update to our previously clunky Map and Track browser![/p][p][/p][h2]New Track browser[/h2][p][/p][p]We have updated the track browser for the Race and Challenge gamemodes! Enjoy an improved experience, now with infinite scrolling instead of pages of tracks. [/p][p]The browser now directly showcases the image cover and length of the tracks. You can now also Favourite tracks you like in-game, using the little heart icon. Leaderboards are now also more preeminent, and you can click on them to see more![/p][p]The Track of the Week was also given a more central space, that is less obtrusive than before![/p][p][/p][p][/p][h2]New Map Browser[/h2][p][/p][p]For the Freestyle gamemode, first pick one of the 17 environments you want to fly on, then either select an empty map at the top, or one of the available community maps![/p][p][/p][p]The Search function was also given an upgrade across the board, now with more filters, including filtering by creator.[/p][p][/p][p]On an additional note, we have slightly updated the Map viewer (Maps button in the Main Menu) to use the new grid view instead of lines, so you can now see much more maps all at once.[/p][p][/p][p]Hope you enjoy this new change,[/p][p]See you in the sky![/p]

UI Update Part 3 - OSD, VTX Filters and Music!

[h2]📊 Improved Flight OSD[/h2][h3][/h3][h3]New OSD elements:[/h3]

  • [p]Sidebars showing speed, and altitude (absolute and ground level)[/p]

  • [p]Motor % display, showing the power for each motor[/p]

[p][/p][p]You can toggle On and Off all those elements individually in the Escape menu, or in the Settings, so you can really customise your OSD![/p][p][/p][h2]📡 Realistic Analog and Digital filters[/h2][p][/p][p]We've added a full analog filter, that simulates the look of an analog transmission to your goggles! We suggest that you switch your game to 4:3 aspect ratio and increase the fish-eye to really complete the look.[/p][p]The filter simulates RF noise, screen tearing, channel loss, vertical sync issues, color bleed and much more![/p][p][/p][p]We also added a digital filter, with its blocky artifact glory![/p][p][/p][h3]🛜 VTX Interference Simulation[/h3][p]Both filters simulate the distortions and glitches of radio video transmission. The signal strength is based on distance and if (and by how much) the antenna is blocked by trees, terrain or any other object. Like for real drones, you will need to keep in mind line-of-sight to the antenna, which is placed by default on your chosen spawn point.[/p][p][/p][h2]📂 Other đŸŽļ[/h2]
  • [p]We added License-free Music to the Content Creator Mode, to prevent copyright issues if you plan on making EreaDrone content. You can find the full track listing, including links and attribution, in the game credits. You can also use it as an alternate OST for the game, if the old one is getting stale.[/p]
  • [p]Along with that, we added a Music Player, accessible from the Escape menu. Control your music and check out the tracks directly from there![/p][p][/p]
  • [p]You can now choose the folder where your Screenshots and Replay videos are recorded. (Options -> General)[/p]
[p][/p][h2]🔧 Bug fixes and improvements 🩹[/h2]
  • [p]Fixed the controller cursor slowly drifting in the menus, when using a gaming controller[/p]
  • [p]You can now change your default Camera Mode (Options -> General)[/p]
  • [p]Remapped default shortcuts: S now opens Spawn Selection, and L opens Sessions Settings (L for Lobby). You can now remap Spawn Selection in the controls.[/p]
  • [p]Added the missing Motor Torque tooltip in the Physics Settings[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where the nameplate would look empty for a few seconds in some cases after switching banners/title[/p]
  • [p]Removed doubled Back buttons in some parts of the UI[/p]
  • [p]Minor UI fixes[/p]
  • [p]Other minor bug fixes[/p]
