AFTERBLAST Launches NOVEMBER 7

We’re incredibly excited to announce that AFTERBLAST will be launching on November 7![/h3][p][/p][h3]Here you can watch our brand new trailer![/h3][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p][/p][p]Launch will include the first Three Dungeons, each with two Bosses to beat.[/p][p]Big Open Maps featuring an Infinite Survival Mode for endless replayability, and unique enemies.[/p][p]Both support solo and co-op play.[/p][p]Boss Souls collected from defeated bosses can be used to raise overall difficulty and unlock new content, while Boss Ashes allow fine-grained customization of which game elements grow more challenging.[/p][p]Progression has been expanded with multiple permanent systems, like Eternity Upgrades and Core Upgrades, that enhance abilities and unlock additional content.[/p][p]NPCs enhance or exchange your items.[/p][p]New weapons and items with evolutions and synergies.[/p][p]Brand-new companion system to bring more personality to your runs.[/p][p]And much more...[/p][p][/p][h3]Love roguelite shooters? AFTERBLAST Release Delayed

We’ve got some tough news to share: the release we originally aimed for at the end of April is going to be delayed - just a little bit 😦

As many of you know, we’re just a two-person team. What started as a small passion project in our spare time has grown into something much bigger than we ever imagined. For the past year, both of us have been working full-time on the game, pouring our hearts into it every single day.

The response during Steam Next Fest was overwhelming in the best way possible. So many of you played the demo, shared kind words, and added the game to your wishlists and honestly, it meant the world to us. It's been surreal, and above all, incredibly motivating but also that week we realized the game should and can be better.

That’s exactly why we don’t want to rush things or release the game before it’s truly ready. We want it to be something special - something worth your time and support ❤️

We also want to be honest with you: setting a fixed release date earlier was a mistake. We put a lot of pressure on ourselves trying to hit that target as fast as possible, and truthfully, it’s been just too much... On top of everything, we've also faced some unexpected health issues recently, which have slowed us down a bit more than we anticipated.

Thank you so much for your patience, kindness, and support. This community is something really special, and we’re so grateful to have you along for the journey! ❤️

AFTERBLAST Demo Patch #1.0.4

Hey everyone! After the Steam Next Fest ending, we’ve been making steady progress, and today we’re excited to drop a new update filled with improvements and quality-of-life upgrades. Take a look at what’s new below!

[h3]Weapons & Combat[/h3]
  • Heavy Sniper: Scope in is now faster.
  • Shotgun: Improved sound effect to be more satisfying.
  • Hook: Reduced the delay for enabling shooting after a hook finisher execution.
  • Hook: Players can now cancel the hook animation with a Jump or Dash for more fluid combat.

[h3]Player Movement[/h3]
  • Dash: Players no longer lose speed after performing a dash - movement speed remains consistent with pre-dash velocity.
  • Mantle: Smoothed out mantling mechanics for better traversal.

[h3]Companions[/h3]
  • Companions can no longer be set on fire, frozen, or poisoned.
  • Companions will no longer deal damage to the player.
  • Hitting a companion no longer triggers the crosshair hit indicator.

[h3]Mini-Boss[/h3]
  • Reduced the number of weak mobs (Soldiers, Dragoneyes, etc.) spawned when the boss jumps to an island to 2.
  • Added a visual effect to clearly indicate when the Mini-Boss is immune.
  • Increased the boss’s island-jump cooldown by 5 seconds.

[h3]Enemies[/h3]
  • Added new, shorter animations for when Destructible Elements are destroyed (Triclop and Hexopus).
  • Reduced the Triclop's shield durability.
  • - Fixed an issue where flying mobs sometimes spawned but didn’t move (still may sometimes happen but much less often).
  • - Fixed an issue where Wooden Exploders would march in a line like - now they spread out properly.
  • - Fixed an issue where Wooden Exploders would stand in place if the player was outside navigable space.

[h3]Items[/h3]
  • Orbiter: Reduced its size and increased its distance from the player.
  • Critical Hit: Using the hook will no longer cancel the effect.

[h3]User Interface[/h3]
  • Added markers for the enemies positions to the Mini Map.
  • Weapon Rarity: Replaced the “+” symbols with stars.
  • Added hook input icon to the tutorial.
  • Increased the on-screen hit effect and added a clearer damage sound to make taking damage more noticeable.
  • Added Travis S. to our Patreon supporters in Credits.

[h3]Settings[/h3]
  • Removed the unused “Targeting Sensitivity” option.
  • Added FOV Scaling to the Mouse Settings menu.
  • Improved visual highlighting of the selected option in settings menu.

[h3]World[/h3]
  • Slightly accelerated chest opening animations for faster looting.
  • First Room Tile Fix: Moved a tile in the first room that was annoyingly blocking a chest.
  • Boss Map Patch: Fixed a small hole in the landscape near the stones to the right of the tree by the boss area.


[h2]Patch #1.0.3[/h2]
With all the excitement and work during Steam Next Fest, we didn’t have time to share the 1.0.3 update notes. Everything was happening so fast, haha. So, we’re including those changes below :D

[h3]New Features[/h3]
  • Mini-Map: Added a mini-map to improve navigation around the map.

[h3]Gameplay[/h3]
  • Usable Item Activation: Usable items can now be activated with Q and E keys.
  • Usable Item Swap Popup: Added a popup notification when swapping usable items with a full inventory.
  • Usable Item Cooldowns are now tied to individual items.
  • Removed base Uzi (without any +) from Containers loot.
  • Containers now respawn in more visible and accessible spots.

[h3]Bugfixes[/h3]
  • Items from opened Containers can now be picked-up if you leave and re-enter a room.
  • Fixed an issue where collectible items would freeze or stick to walls and other objects upon collision.
  • Resolved a bug where spamming weapon pickup with a full inventory would disable shooting, weapon switching, etc.
  • Sniper Scope + Usable Item Bug: Fixed an issue where using a usable item (with animation) during sniper scope would make the weapon and hands disappear.

[h3]User Interface[/h3]
  • Add to Wishlist: Now highlighted in green in the main menu.
  • Renamed stones in Main Gate location.

Hi everyone!
We’ve been grinding to bring you a fresh update! This one’s all about tweaking small things, making everything just a little snappier, and what's more important... proving your skills! That’s right, the new Ranking System is here! Now you can see how you stack up against other players.

  • Ranking System - you can open it from Main Menu and Pause Menu at any time

[h3]User Interface[/h3]
  • Added links to social media profiles in Main Menu
  • Added your play time to Game Finished window

  • Allowed to enable V-Sync in Windowed Fullscreen (Borderless)
