Update 14: Distance Grip, Cybershoes and improved Valve Index throwing!

Greetings, Champions!

No more back pain! With the newly added Distance Grip mechanic you can grab your favorite weapons with ease, even from the ground! We hope this will go well with the Cybershoes integration debuting with this update!

New
- Added Distance Grip (similar to "jedi force pull") so you can grip items from further away and don't have to place hand inside them to do so
- Added Cybershoes integration (works with left and right handed setup, check SteamVR bindings)
Please be patient, it might take a few days for the configs to go live.
- New and optimized version of the starting area (stadium)

Changes
- Moved the bHaptics settings to Options/Extras
- Changed gripping and dropping on Valve Index controllers, for more accurate throwing
- Changed Rig level design according to player feedback, decoration elements also improved
- Minor UI changes throughout the game to prepare for localizations

Fixes
- Fixed settings in the Tutorial level
- Fixed drones on fire effect
- Fixed drones not firing after some time in Practice Range
- Fixed some errors when initiating multiplayer
- Fixed bots stuck on geometry that isn't part of the navigation area
- Removed some unnecessary files from the build making the install size smaller
- Fixed graphics settings reset to defaults to reset VR pixeldensity as well

Optimizations
- Optimized UI panels in the starting area
- Optimized Tutorial, Practice Range
- Optimized Container, Parthenon, Spiral, Zion
- Optimized projectiles loading times to get less hiccups in performance
- Optimized bot navigation areas on all levels
- Optimized and improved character movement networking code

Update 13: Seated Mode and ease of access improvements

Greetings, Champions!

Your comfort is top priority for us! In this update we bring you several new features to make your grappling hook experience more fluid and easy to play! So sit comfortably and let's get this match started!

New
- Added seated mode (or child mode). To activate this:
1. Open Options/ Game tab
2. Set your height
3. Sit comfortably
4. Press [Calibrate]. As a result the world will offset to your desired height.
- Gripping improvements: Gripping activates in longer range (don't have to place hand inside weapon)
- Climbing improvements: Climbing is activated also when the hand is inside the wall
- Comfort mode (tunneling vignette) can be switched on for vertical and horizontal movement separately

Changes
- Wall jumping disabled when climbing
- Crouch walk speed increased, and now can walk off ledges when crouching
- Bots got a "BOT" prefix in their name to better identify them
- Pause menu follows head more comfortably and independent from height
- Changed trace radius (aim helping) design for hitscan weapons
- New model for the teleporter exit

- Fixed arrow to be visible to others too
- Fixed orientation of character animations
- Fixed flaming effect on drones in the Practice Range
- Fixed dry fire sound to only play on trigger pull
- Fixed hiding bHaptics Android UI on desktop version
- Fixed ammo count display when regripping a dropped weapon
- Added lag compensation for multiple players gripping the same object at the same time
- Added lag compensation for same player gripping multiple object at the same time
- Added lag compensation for same player gripping and grappling hook pulling objects at the same time
- Fixed crouching state going below ground

Update 12: New map - Rig - Early Access

Greetings, Champions!

Your feedback during the development of Grapple Tournament is more than valuable for us so we would like to involve you even more where we can.

Rig - the new map we've been working on - has reached its alpha stage. We immediately thought that this is the best time to reveal it and let you play on it so you can help shaping it to become more fun.

Please note, that the bots are still getting to know the map so they aren't functioning very well on it.

Let's grab the update, play on the alpha version of Rig and tell us about your experience!

This is your chance to show the world your grappling hook skills and vertical combat maneuvers! Join the championship, play with other players and win cash prizes!

Registration: Sign up before 3rd of May!
Tournament: Starting 3rd of May. Estimated to last 4 weeks. One week = one bracket.

[h3]The rules[/h3]
  • Game mode: Free for all
  • Map: Any map selected by the players of the match
  • Bots: No Bots
  • Round format: 6 players, 3 matches
  • Round rules: Summarized score of the 3 matches
  • Winner of a round: top 3 players based on sum score. 3 players advance to the next round.
  • Score reporting: At least one player must report the results of each round here on Challonge or on Discord.
