New Feature: Traits

[h3]New Feature: Traits![/h3]

  • You can select different passive bonuses for your creatures, called Traits.
  • Located on the tab menu's Traits tab.
  • Hatchlings start off with 1 trait slot unlocked and older creatures have more slots unlocked, with a total of 4 available slots.
  • Each slot has multiple traits you can choose between.
  • It costs 1 evolution point to switch to a new trait.
  • Trait bonuses are passive and are in effect while active in a trait slot.
  • To start off the new traits system these are the available traits: deal bleed damage when attacked, bonus damage, bonus hunger every time you eat, bonus hydration every time you drink, bonus health, bonus health regeneration, bonus stamina, bonus stamina regen, bonus land speed, bonus water speed, slower hunger drain, slower hydration drain, and faster turn speed.

** Some traits are only available for certain species.

Patch 1.0.25

  • The details tab is now displaying damage correctly, instead of displaying stamina as its value.
  • Turned off the ground texture parallax effect because it distorted the ground at certain angles up close.
  • Ground tessellation value, which gives the ground the appearance of being somewhat 3d in places, is now determined by the size and growth stage of your creature, with larger creatures having the tessellation turned up higher for a more dramatic effect.

Patch 1.0.24

  • Nest food will start to gain toxicity after 5 minutes, up from 3 minutes.
  • Nest food that spoils is no longer appearing up in the air.
  • Nest food that spoils is now being destroyed after 10 minutes of spoiling.
  • More creature information is now shown on the Details tab.
  • Gaining growth rewards for adult creatures will no longer make your creature lose growth. They now grant you growth as intended.
  • Creature basic attacks no longer cost stamina to use.
  • If you're playing as an insect species, you will no longer be able to get eat tasks for your own species.

Patch 1.0.23

  • The player's creature no longer loses hunger when they attack.
  • The player's creature no longer loses hunger when recharging stamina.
  • Adult task reset button cooldown changed from 15 minutes to 7.5 minutes.
  • The player's ability selection is now saved and loaded per creature. If you don't have any abilities selected when you log in for the first time after this update, just go into the abilities tab and select them, then they'll save and load after that.
  • AI creatures lose stamina when chasing and will start to walk when below 25% stamina.
  • AI creatures now lose stamina when fleeing and will start to walk when below 25% stamina.
  • Stamina is now displaying correctly for AI creatures' overhead healthbars.
  • Stamina regeneration will now be affected by toxicity for AI creatures. Stamina regeneration slows down the higher toxicty gets and once toxicity reaches 100%, stamina regeneration will stop.

Patch 1.0.21

  • AI is now able to get up and flee if sitting or sleeping and a predator gets too close.
  • AI is now able to get up and defend itself if sitting or sleeping and a predator gets too close.
  • Fixed a glitch where smelling was causing errors and then the fps would drop significantly while smelling.
