Bugs Adjustments


🔹All bugs are now more nutritious to help hatchlings grow faster.

🔹Bugs with higher nutrition are more likely to spawn.

🔹All dinosaurs larger than tiny dinosaurs are now more nutritious.

🔹Shadows can now be seen further away.

🔹Smelling highlights/outlines are now colored when using nightvision.

🔹Dinosaurs now have a 'Fearful' property. Fearful dinosaurs are more likely to flee from dangerous situations compared to a non-fearful dinosaur.


Update 0.8.101.7
Footsteps Update Adjustments


🔹Quetzalcoatlus was taken down one footstep tier, so they now have lighter footsteps.

🔹Footstep pitch no longer changes depending on if a dinosaur is walking, running, or sprinting. This was done to make the sound effect sound as much like the original sound as possible.

🔹Ambient sound effects now play even if you aren't playing a creature.

🔹Ambient sound effects now switch to a different biome faster, from a 10 second delay to a 1 second delay.

🔹Changed the grass footsteps sounds for average-sized dinosaurs.

🔹Some dinosaurs now call less often.

🔹When the player walks left, right, or backwards it is now considered 'walking' and plays the walking sound effect.

🔹Resource (edible plants, trees, fish) colliders are now disabled when a resource despawns and it is enabled when it respawns. This way players won't run into tree colliders that have despawned and are no longer there causing collision.

Footsteps Update

🔹All existing footstep sounds have been replaced with new sounds, except for maybe a couple of stomp sounds. There is a different set of sounds that play for walking on forest ground, sandy ground, and rocky ground. There are two-legged and four-legged variations for each sound and there are sounds for six different sizes of dinosaurs.

FPS Increase #1

🔹This is the first of a series of fps increases.

🔹The fps has been increased in various cases by between 50% and 400%.

🔹More fps increases should be coming in the near future.

Aquatics FIxes

Update 0.8.101.3 (Aquatics Fixes)


🔹Ichthyosaurus is once again animating.

🔹Fixed a case of dinosaurs not facing the way they are walking or running.

🔹Swimming dinosaur AI are now able to flee.

🔹Loud dinosaur roars should no longer play automatically upon starting the game or entering a new area.

🔹You can now see while underwater and nightvision is enabled.

🔹Dinosaur AI that swim to the edge of the world should no longer get stuck.

🔹Dinosaurs AI that are swimming now have more gradual turning capabilities.

🔹Dinosaur AI that are swimming and chasing a target should no longer spin infinitely around their target.

🔹Dinosaur AI are once again swimming between their maximum and ideal depth zone.

🔹Dinosaur AI that are swimming to the surface of the water are less likely to teleport to the ocean floor.



Update 0.8.101.2 (Fleeing Dinosaurs)


🔹Dinosaurs now flee more dangerous dinosaurs when they see them. Dinosaurs also flee more dangerous dinosaurs if they get attacked by them.

🔹Dinosaurs now try to sprint first while chasing or fleeing other dinosaurs.

🔹Dinosaur chasing has been slightly improved.

🔹Dinosaurs now chase the closest eligible dinosaur while hunting.

🔹Meganuera has been resized. It had gotten too big due to some previous work with the dinosaurs.

Update 0.8.101.0


🔹Nightvision is now more than a light that surrounds the player at night. Toggle nightvision by pressing the 'V' key. Dinosaur species with better nightvision can see further at night.

🔹Now smelling for a dinosaur target sorts dinosaurs by their distance to the player. So you'll smell closer dinosaurs first.

🔹(Bug Fix) Accelerated Growth is once again counting down and rewarding you with experience points if your dinosaur is of the Elder growth stage.

🔹The coniferous forest's vegetation is now darker green.


Update 0.8.101.1


🔹Dinosaur health regeneration values have been normalized across all species. 2% of maximum health is regenerated per bite of food. 0.25% of maximum health is regenerated every x seconds while standing. 0.5% of maximum health is regenerated every x seconds while sitting or sleeping. The frequency at which dinosaurs regenerate health still differs from species to species, larger dinosaurs regenerating more slowly.

🔹Getting hydrated from eating is now based on a percentage of your maximum hydration and is no longer based off current bite size.

🔹Getting hydrated from drinking water is now based on a percentage of your maximum hydration and is no longer based off current bite size. Each drink restores 10% of your maximum hydration.

🔹Cycling between dinosaurs while smelling now ignores insects, since those are all highlighted by default.
