Upcoming Frames Per Second Boost

I've recently brought someone onto the project that is looking into optimizing the game to raise its frames per second. It could take a couple of weeks before we have an increase to the game's frames per second though. I'll be sure to keep everyone updated here, on Discord, and on Facebook.

Trees, Plants, and Grass Replacement

🔹The coniferous forest has all new trees, plants, and grass.

🔹The coniferous forest has all new edible plants, except for the rare mushroom.

🔹The jungle has all new trees, plants, and grass.

🔹The jungle has all new edible plants.

🔹The beach has all new trees and plants.

🔹The beach has all new edible plants, the same edible plants as the jungle.

🔹The deciduous forest has all new trees, plants, and grass.

🔹The three edible trees have been replaced with new 3d models.

🔹Elders can once again gain stacks of Accelerated Growth, except it doesn't help them grow in size.

🔹Now every time you lose a stack of Accelerated Growth you gain one experience point while standing and two experience points if you are sitting or sleeping.

🔹To help hatchlings have a slightly better chance at survival, eating now restores twenty times the normal hydration.

🔹To help juveniles have a slightly better chance at survival, eating now restores ten times the normal hydration.

🔹To help sub-adults have a slightly better chance at survival, eating now restores five times the normal hydration.

🔹A new ambient music track has been added to the game, for the underwater biome.

🔹The dilophosaurus now has 5 times more flesh.

🔹The dimorphodon now has 10 times more flesh.

Ambient Audio

🔹All biomes now each have a list of ambient sound effects that randomly play.

🔹There are now new sound loops for light rain, medium rain, and stormy weather.

🔹(Fix) Playing as a dinosaur, going to the main menu, and hatching a new dinosaur no longer results in the previous dinosaur being entered into the game instead of the dinosaur that should be hatched.

🔹Tyrannosaurus, spinosaurus, baryonyx, and carnotaurus had their movement speed reduced by 1 tier.

🔹All dinosaur species are now unlocked from the start of the game and do not require evolution points to unlock.

🔹Players of the demo version of the game can now play all of the dinosaur species and try them all out.

🔹Players of the demo version of the game can now switch maps and try them all out.

🔹Players of the demo version of the game no longer save or load any dinosaur data, hoard data, or nest data. This means each time they go to play a dinosaur it starts as a hatchling and no previous hoard or nest items will be waiting in their hoard or nest.

🔹(Fix) Now when it stops raining the rain sound loop stops.

Dinosaur Passive Growth Changes

🔹Passive growth now happens at the same interval regardless of dinosaur age, every one second. The amount of growth that happens at every passive growth interval now gets smaller as your dinosaur grows older. The smaller your species is the faster your passive growth rate is.

🔹(New Buff) Enhanced Growth. Gain stacks of Enhanced Growth for every bite of food you take, more nutritious food gives you more stacks per bite. You lose one stack of Enhanced Growth every second. While standing, you gain the effects of double the normal passive growth rate. While sitting or sleeping, you gain the effects of triple the normal passive growth rate. Enhanced Growth rate stacks are saved and loaded with your dinosaurs.

🔹The amount of experience points gained from advancing to the next growth stage has been changed. I wanted growing to the next growth stage to be more rewarding. Juveniles can raise a single stat to 5, sub-adults can raise 6 stats to 10 (up from just one stat to 10), adults can raise 4 stats to 20 (up from just one stat to 20), and elders can raise 2 stats to 40 (up from 1 stat to 40). These bonus experience points are only gained when you grow to the next growth stage so you'll miss out on them if you start a new dinosaur at an advanced growth stage.

🔹The camera now sees under the terrain less often.

🔹Improved the accuracy of dinosaurs aligning to the terrain slope.

🔹Added a new 'Early-Access Disclaimer' screen to the startup of the game.

🔹Oviraptor, Troodon, and Velociraptor had their movement speed reduced by 1 tier.

Multiplayer Updates and Bug Fixes

Update 0.8.95.45


🔹(Multiplayer) Multiplayer mode has been unlocked for players of the demo version of the game. Now you can try out multiplayer mode before you buy the game. Play with people who own the full version of the game and people that are just trying out the demo. Look forward to more multiplayer mode updates in the future.

🔹(UI) Overhead healthbar backgrounds are now slightly transparent.

🔹(Multiplayer) Current rotation for dinosaurs is now sent along with the other initial dinosaur data to connecting players.

🔹(Multiplayer) Most animation states for dinosaurs are now sent along with the other initial dinosaur data to connecting players. (More animation state synchronization will be done in the future)



Update 0.8.95.47


🔹(Music) Our first ambient music track has been added to the game! It has been added to the playlist for the jungle biome.

🔹(Bug fix) Health regeneration is now regenerating the correct amount of health, passively (standing), passively (sitting/sleeping), and per bite of food.

🔹(Bug fix) Getting hungry is now depleting hunger by the correct amount passively and while moving.

🔹(Bug fix) Getting thirsty is now depleting thirst by the correct amount passively.

🔹(Bug fix) Taking bleed damage is now depleting health by the correct amount passively and while moving.

🔹(Bug fix) Taking food poisoning damage is now depleting health by the correct amount while eating.

🔹(Multiplayer) The rest of the animation states have been synchronized for initial dinosaur states for when clients join a server. You'll see dead dinosaurs as actually being dead when you join a server and you'll also see sitting or sleeping dinosaurs as actually sitting or sleeping when you join a server.
