Piscivores

  • There is a new food type, 'Fish'. Raw fish looks like raw meat except its whitish-pink in color. If it spoils it looks blueish-grey.

  • The following dinosaurs now have a flesh type of 'Fish': Ammonite, Anomalocaris, Cameroceras, Dunkleosteus, Helicoprion, Leedsichthys, Megalodon, Onchopristis, and Xenacanthus.

  • The following dinosaurs now have a diet of fish: Ammonite, Anomalocaris, Cameroceras, Helicoprion, Leedsichthys, Onchopristis, and Xenacanthus.

  • Piscivores can eat fish but not meat.

  • Carnivores can eat fish and meat.

  • A new type of food is available for aquatic carnivores and piscivores to eat, starfish and shells. These function as plants do, restoring health, recovering from injuries quicker, and providing growth points and experience points.

Sitting and Sleeping

  • Sitting or sleeping can be done with the 'R' key. If the player tries to perform any actions while sitting or sleeping their dinosaur will stand up. Some dinosaurs can call while sitting.

  • The Resting button will only show up on the user interface if your dinosaur species can sit or sleep.

  • Dinosaurs cannot sit or sleep if they are swimming or flying.

  • Dinosaur hunger and thirst rate decreases while sitting or sleeping.

  • Dinosaurs restore twice as much health while sitting or sleeping.

  • While sitting or sleeping dinosaurs take half of their bleed damage and recover from bleeding twice as fast.

  • While sitting or sleeping dinosaurs take half of their food poisoning damage and recover from food poisoning twice as fast.

  • The dinosaurs that can sit, call while sitting, and sleep are: Ankylosaurus, Argentinosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Gallimimus, Iguanodon, Kentrosaurus, Ouranosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Protoceratops, Stegosaurus, Styracosaurus, and Triceratops.

  • The dinosaurs that can only sleep are: Baryonyx, Carnotaurus, Compsognathus, Dilophosaurus, Dimetrodon, Dimorphodon, Oviraptor, Pachycephalosaurus, Pteranodon, Quetzalcoatlus, Spinosaurus, Troodon, Tyrannosaurus, and Velociraptor.

Elder Dinosaurs

Once a dinosaur reaches the Adult growth stage it then starts progressing towards the Elder growth stage. Growing into an elder, a dinosaur will get 1.5x as large as it was as an adult, and 1.5x as powerful.

There is a new button on the gameplay escape menu. "Return To Nest", it will return your dinosaur to their original nest location.

Changes:
  • Rare plants can now be eaten from ten times more than previously. This was done to make finding one more rewarding for longer and so players may be more likely to seek them out over other plants.

  • Uncommon plants can now be eaten from three times more than previously. This was done to make finding one more rewarding but not as rewarding as a rare plant.

  • Herbivores can now form herds with other species of herbivores. Carnivores can still only form packs with their own species. One herd/pack member is added per call and it is the closest dinosaur to you that meets the criteria to join you.

Bug Fixes:
  • All Dinosaurs' footstep audio is once again controlled with the "Footsteps" slider in the game options audio menu, some of them had been switched to the combat audio slider.

  • Random dinosaur spawns may not have been randomized differently upon game startup. This should be resolved and each time you start up the game there should be a different set of randomized dinosaurs spawned across the island. (Other than the nest guardians that always spawn around nests)

Stat Enhancement Update

Changes:
  • Dinosaur stat point enhancements are now saved differently. All stat point enhancement progress will be reset. Going forward I shouldn't have to reset the stats anymore, or at least not until I add in more forms of character development.
  • The dinosaur stat enhancement screen has received a visual overhaul. Hover your mouse over an icon to find out more details. The icons used to indicate what stat you're hovering over are placeholder graphics.

Bug Fixes:
  • Fixed rainy weather sometimes crashing the game.

Eating Controls Update

Changes:
  • Eating can now be done continuously without having to keep pressing the 'Eat' key, just by holding down the key instead.

  • Drinking can now be done continuously without having to keep pressing the 'Drink' key, just by holding down the key instead.

  • Eating and Drinking is now done from the same key. 'E'. Eating is prioritized over drinking.

  • 5 times as much thirst is replenished from each drink of water.

  • The eating animation no longer plays every time you press the eating button, it only plays if you can actually eat something in front of you. This should help make it more clear what you can and can't eat.

  • All carnivores' bite size has been increased to three times its normal value. All herbivores' bite size has been increased to two times its normal value. This makes food appear larger in a dinosaur's mouth. This makes dinosaurs have to eat less in order to gain the same amount of growth points, restore the same amount of health, restore the same amount of hunger, and gain the same amount of experience points.

  • To compensate for gaining experience points faster due to a larger bite size, the required amount of food needing to be eaten in order to gain experience points has increased. I am also increasing the required experience points a little beyond this compensation because I felt that experience points were gained a little too quickly.

  • Argentinosaurus' Idle animation has been slowed to 25% of its current speed.
