What is the most beautiful city in the world?
Greetings, Survivors!
When starting the game, 911 Operator and 112 Operator had a set of base cities available in the game without the need to download them from the servers. Now we want to do the same with Infection Free Zone. Of course, you will be able to play in any city in the world, but we want to offer players a set of at least 10 interesting city suggestions right from the start.

So what is the most beautiful city in the world that everyone should have a chance to play on? We are really interested in getting to know your opinion about it. Your feedback will help us with shaping the final version of the game, so don't hold back with writing a comment!
Requirements
On our side, there is a set of requirements that makes some cities preferable to others:

 • We need suggestions from many different parts of the world with vastly different architecture,
 • Small cities are preferred, with less than 50 000 population total,
 • Buildings on their own are one thing, but what about the terrain itself? Is the city situated among rivers and hills? Perfect! The more interesting the area, the better!
What do you think? Which city should we add to the base game and why is that?

Best regards,
Jutsu Games Team

PS. The next "Behind the scenes" entry should be ready in around two weeks, but you have to trust us - it's well worth the wait!

Land Elevation - Behind the Scenes #4
Greetings, Survivors!
February is ending and we are working hard on developing the first playable build of the game, with a fully functional tutorial. At the same time, we are constantly tackling new features that we are striving to add to the game, to make our maps look better and provide some variety to them. One of the latest examples of such features is land elevation.
Land Elevation
The land elevation is one of those elements that have been haunting us for quite some time now, but we weren't sure if we can manage to add them to the game. After weeks of work, we are proud to announce that the in-game maps will actually correctly depict all the lowlands, highlands, mountains, and other unique examples of terrain differentiation that we can find around the globe. This is another big step we're taking to make the game look more realistic.

By the way, the UI visible on the screenshots is still a work-in-progress. But the game is shaping up to look quite nicely, isn't it?
How does it affect the gameplay?
Of course, the land elevation is a feature that makes the in-game map look better, but it's also an aspect that you will have to take into consideration when exploring the map or building your Zone! Some examples of how land elevation can affect your gameplay include:
 • A smaller or larger area of view, depending on the position of our units (altitude).
 • Reduced speed of units when they are moving uphill.

Due to those two factors, it might be recommended to start your Zone at some higher point of the map. You will have more time to kill the infected, if they're slowly climbing their way up, even before reaching the walls of your settlement. But it's also a risk that you have to be aware of when controlling your own squads! Trying to run away from the infected, while going uphill might be a task that won't end on a positive note. Building on the hills is also going to be a challenge - one that will certainly require more time before completion.

Are you excited about this new feature? How do you like the newest screenshots from the game? Let us know in the comments!

Biomes and Seasons - Behind The Scenes #3
Greetings, Survivors!
How are you doing in the middle of this winter season? Is it snowing heavily in your country or maybe you're still waiting, whispering the famous phrase to yourself - "Winter is coming"? Mind you, we're still absolutely on topic here as today's announcement is about different biomes that you will have a chance to encounter in Infection Free Zone! That's right, the next step of the community challenge has been reached, which means that biomes are going to get implemented into the game. Congratulations!
Stretch goal reached - Biomes!
With the Games Operators Publisher Sale ending a few days ago, we have just reached the "Biomes" stretch goal for our Community Challenge. There are currently over 11 000 followers on Steam in our Infection Free Zone group and this number is growing every day! What's the next step? "Additional events" and a goal of reaching 15 000 followers on Steam! We can do it!
Biomes - how do they affect the gameplay?
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

This is our first take on a winter season, that we have prepared to give you a general idea of the direction we would like to take. What do you think about it? With the latest stretch goal reached, we aim to take additional care of representing different biomes and seasons. The game should become more interesting not only visually, but also from the gameplay perspective!

Biomes - important to know:
 • Some dilemmas and events happening in your zone might happen exclusively during certain seasons!
 • Right now, we plan on seasons changing every few in-game days, to make the gameplay more dynamic.
 • Other than the seasons themselves, areas might heavily differ from each other, having more trees, sand, water, or mountains! The fauna and the flora is going to change. And all of it will impact your gameplay!
 • Remember - the day is going to be longer in the summer and shorter during the winter. You will have to take it into account, as it might be harder to avoid the infected during the winter!
 • Different ground types will affect the movement ability of your units. For example - vehicles will move the fastest on the streets. Leaving them to move through the land will reduce their speed and driving through the snow and sand is going to reduce it even further!

Thank you all for such enthusiastic anticipation of Infection Free Zone. This community is growing faster than we could ever wish for, and it's amazing to see it consisting of players from many different continents. We are proud to see that our game sparks interest in players from all around the world!

Check how the infection started! 112 Operator: The Last Duty
Greetings, Survivors!
We are very happy to see that the community is growing at such an incredible pace! We have reached the first stretch goal for the community challenge (congratulations to all of you!) and we receive a lot of questions about the game and its story.
Check how the story started!
If you are wondering how the whole story started and you haven't heard about the 112 Operator game before, we have to begin with mentioning that Infection Free Zone continues the narration that we have started in The Last Duty DLC for 112 Operator. While the base game tries to realistically depict the job of an emergency services dispatcher, the last DLC is an alternate story that takes place during an infection outbreak. This mysterious outbreak and its following events are the story introduction to Infection Free Zone!

So if you are really interested to see this prologue for yourself, we really recommend giving 112 Operator and The Last Duty DLC a try!
Community Challenge Update!
Congratulations everyone! The first stretch goal has been reached, which means that the Expeditions stretch goal is going to find its way into the launch release! Now it's time to introduce the second stretch goal - biomes! If we can reach 10 000 followers on Steam, we will add different biomes and seasons into the game. Wondering what does it mean and how it might look like? Expect some sneak peek in the next "Behind the scenes" entry!

Remember, that you can check the current number of followers in HERE! At this very moment, we have just passed 6900 members in our group and this number is growing day by day! Thank you for joining us in anticipation for Infection Free Zone.

Behind the scenes #2 - Day and Night cycle
Greetings, Survivors!
We hope that you all have received your long-awaited presents from the Santa! Today we're coming back with the second post from the "Behind the scenes" series, where we look into specific parts of Infection Free Zone, which are currently in development. This week it's time for the day and night cycle!
Day and Night cycle
The whole thing has gone through quite a few iterations, but this is the current state of the day and night cycle:

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
How does it affect gameplay?
The day and night cycle has a fundamental influence on the gameplay of Infection Free Zone. It basically provides the rhythm to the whole game, dictating which actions should've been done at what time. Remember that:
 • Infected are vulnerable to the sun - intensive UV light hurts them. They start their nightly hunt when the suns sets, swarming out of the buildings. And before the dawn they come back, hiding in the non-adapted structures.
 • Due to the above, it's the best idea to explore the zone during the day and defend from the infected at night. Until late game, it's safe to assume to any human squad left in the wild is probably going to end up dead.
 • Important - when searching through the abandoned buildings during the day, there's always a chance to encounter the aggressive infected inside. That's why you're always supposed to send your best units to survey/clean up the buildings first.
 • Artificial lightning is also useful! Powerful searchlights installed on top of your walls can be considered one of the best defensive tools out there.
 • We are still looking into the possibility of introducing the seasons. If we can ever reach the Biomes stretch goal in our Community Challenge, we will look into adjusting the days' and nights' length dynamically, depending on the actual season. This should add an additional layer to the gameplay complexity.
Any questions?
If you have any questions, let us know! We will try to answer them all. And other than that, we would like to wish you a happy new year, on behalf of every team member working on Infection Free Zone! Thank you for sticking with us and see you in 2022!
