Map Editor BETA 9

Hey folks!

This update adds the ability to setup level objectives from the map editor itself, to not have to do it via map config files. The main game branch has been updated to support these additions.

BETA 9:
- added the ability to set up objectives in the map editor itself, rather than having to tinker with Lua scripting in the map config files
- when finishing a level without a declared next level in queue, the game will now quit to main menu
- fixed removing a vent shaft route not clearing the directional arrows
- fixed vent shafts causing a crash if they only had 1 entry point and no exit point (can not get inside an incorrectly set-up vent shaft now)

As a reminder, you can opt into the 'mapeditor' branch at any time. It is currently in the BETA test phase, so expect issues. If you wanted to try your hand at making maps - now would be a good time, as you would not only make your own content, but also help with reporting bugs and giving feedback.

Map Editor BETA 8

Hey folks!

This update adds a couple of features requested by the map maker community, (however small, but hopefully bigger in the future!) to make object/floor placement a lot easier by being able to filter sprites by name.

BETA 8:
- added "Unbreakable when locked" modifier to doors
- added search filter textboxes for floors, walls, roofs, and sprite quad scrollbars
- levels, without a campaign, loaded through the "Load map" menu, now use an internal "custom level" campaign, to prevent potential issues
- updated some UI element colors (still waiting on new icons!)
- fixed a newly created patrol route not immediately being placed into the patrol route list, requiring an edit mode switch to be shown there

As a reminder, you can opt into the 'mapeditor' branch at any time. It is currently in the BETA test phase, so expect issues. If you wanted to try your hand at making maps - now would be a good time, as you would not only make your own content, but also help with reporting bugs and giving feedback.

Map Editor BETA 7

Hey folks!

This update adds a lot more tweakable settings to the level settings menu, allowing you to spend less time tinkering with the map config time, and to set the things you need directly in the map editor. The main game branch has been updated to support these additions.

BETA 7:
- fixed choking an enemy out with lethal melee enabled not killing them
- multiple things can now be set-up from the "Level settings" menu, to further move away from having to adjust the level config file, including:
* player capabilities (lockpicking, night-vision goggles, etc.)
* whether the loadout menu will be opened upon starting the level
* which weapons the player starts out with
* which armor the player starts out with

As a reminder, you can opt into the 'mapeditor' branch at any time. It is currently in the BETA test phase, so expect issues. If you wanted to try your hand at making maps - now would be a good time, as you would not only make your own content, but also help with reporting bugs and giving feedback.

Map Editor BETA 6

Hey folks!

The map editor branch received an update, limiting certain actions to protect people from crashing the game by accident.

BETA 6:
- fixed a potential problem with placeable object list not correctly displaying the class name
- fixed being able to completely mess up levels by assigning an object for a goon to sit down on, and then removing said object
- disabled NPC subclass placement (they're meant to be used only on specific levels in specific contexts in the main campaign)

As a reminder, you can opt into the 'mapeditor' branch at any time. It is currently in the BETA test phase, so expect issues. If you wanted to try your hand at making maps - now would be a good time, as you would not only make your own content, but also help with reporting bugs and giving feedback.

Map Editor BETA 5

Hey folks!

The map editor branch received an update, fixing a number of problems reported by people. Previous beta versions 2, 3, and 4 were rapid updates released shortly after people reported issues on the game's official Discord server.

BETA 5:
- fixed placing an NPC via the NPC menu not calling :makeActive and causing a crash when removing the NPC
- fixed opening the NPC adjustment menu re-instantiating the starting weapon each time
- fixed returning to maped mode not removing the object throw controls
- fixed returning to maped mode while lockpicking not removing the cancel key prompt
- fixed a footstep-related crash that could occur when the player would get out of map bounds (this shouldn't happen at all though, will need to look into)
- selecting dead/unconscious/idle states will now adjust their animations in the map editor accordingly

As a reminder, you can opt into the 'mapeditor' branch at any time. It is currently in the BETA test phase, so expect issues. If you wanted to try your hand at making maps - now would be a good time, as you would not only make your own content, but also help with reporting bugs and giving feedback.
