Patch Notes
New Weapons 💥
  • The Conduit (Melee)
One of a series of bladed weapons rumoured to have been crafted by a mad engineer deep in the ship’s bowels with a penchant for pain and a sprinkle of surprise. Though its creation was bound for fire-fighting, a downward swing is bound to cut most non-metal materials easily.
  • The Dual Str8Fires (Physical)
Repurposed from forgotten Earth tech, Str8Fires are lightweight submachine guns that are perfect for dual-hand showdowns. These weapons are the definition of "spray and pray", as their large magazines also act as recoil compensators and prevent unwanted muzzle rise

Dev Diary #8 - What the Darkphage Leaves Behind

It has seeded the infinite void with denizens of hatred. It waits in silence, until the pride of mankind demands correction. Unfettered, it brings lasting equality through annihilation. It is destruction incarnate. It is the Darkphage.
Echoes in the Dark
Something unnatural has taken hold aboard the Orpheus. Its crew changed, Its corridors stalked by things that shouldn’t exist. Today, we're revealing some of the threats you'll encounter in Moros Protocol.
Larvae
These creatures scuttle through the Orpheus with an unsettling purpose; seeking out the living. Small and fragile at first, they’re easy to dispatch... but don’t get comfortable. The longer they persist, the more they change. And the more dangerous they become.
Twisted Orpheans
Once-human figures now roam the halls, grotesquely altered. They move with brute force but sluggish steps, as if dragged by something within. Their glowing chests may hint at a weakness, but facing them means confronting what your crewmates have become.
Nychoraptors
These creatures no longer resemble anything from the Orpheus. Fast, vicious, and disturbingly agile, they are the stuff of nightmares. Watch for the glint of an eye where one should never be... targeting it may be your only chance.

Thank you for reading, and get ready for our playtest this weekend. You might want to grab a friend as co-op kicks off tomorrow! See you in the stars 💫

Dev Diary #7 - Meet ODY-6

The Acantha X Corporation is proud to present the latest in our military robotics line - the ODY-6 Sentry Support Bot! Protection is at your beck and call with this brand new mechanical marvel, boasting a range of in-battle capabilities that will support you in the fight.
When you're lost in the darkness, the ODY-6 will light the way!

Your ODY-6 Sentry Support Bot
The Orpheus is a dark and dangerous place, but luckily you have an ODY-6 by your side! Created as a "Soldier's Best Friend" for the Acantha X - Freorra war, they are the perfect multi-tool for many problems that any Orphean might come across.

No matter how bad it gets, the ODY-6 is there to support. Typically, you'd only see an Acanthan officer or special operative have an ODY-6 unit at their command... however, after waking up on the Orpheus, this unit seems to have attached itself to your biometrics. How lucky!

If it wasn't for ODY-6, it'd be near impossible to get around the Orpheus. Especially when it comes to opening locked doorways, hacking terminals, and opening chests. That's right, it's so much more than a flashlight.

Thanks for reading! We've got some big updates coming to our next playtest on the 23rd of May. Be sure to join our Discord channel to get the latest updates. See you in the stars 💫

Dev Diary #6 - Weapons and Augments #2

Know your enemy! That's a core tenet of being an Orphean. Whether you're fighting Freorra Corpos or alien threats, you must understand them. And what better way than to use their own weapons against them.

Good day, Orpheans!

There's even more weapons and augments to talk about in today's developer diary! We're going to focus on using the enemy against itself and picking up some corrupted weaponry.
WEAPONS
The Orpheus is crawling with unknown enemies. But it's not all doom and gloom! Use their own bodies against them with these weapons 🩸
Bonesaw ⚔️
A sharp jawbone from a Darkphage with remarkable toughness. Its convenient shape makes it an effective close-combat weapon.
Spitclaw 🔫
An energy-generating gland from a Darkphage, it can manipulate magnetic fields to create and propel balls of plasma. It seems to be able to sustain itself if given enough food. Recently seen in our playtest—did you get a chance to play with it?
Bonespitter 🔫
This grotesque mass of organs is capable of propelling bone-like projectiles at devastating speeds, inflating its lung and releasing the gas with immense pressure.
AUGMENTS
Last time we talked about augments that improved your health and stamina. Now, we're going to look at some augments that actively give you new abilities throughout your run.
Dodge Defence ⬆️
Your dodge is a powerful tool. When a Darkphage infectant is swinging its failing arms toward your torso, you need to get out of the way. However, there's more to your dodge with these augments. Like Aftershock, which drops a mini time bomb when you dodge, and Static Discharge, which leaves an electric field in your wake. However, be careful, as these extra abilities are going to increase your dodge stamina cost.
Keep it Moving ⬆️
Increase your player speed with augments like Kinetic Boosters and Scout Boots. This will make it much harder for the Darkphage to take you down. Then combine these abilities with Run n Gun to increase weapon damage by up to 160% while moving. Become a speed machine and a blur of bullets!

You will be able to find some of these weapons and more in the upcoming playtest this weekend (starting tomorrow, the 9th of May). Be sure to sign up once it goes live at 4 PM BST. See you in the stars 💫
