Dev Diary #5 - The Orpheus

Assistance Request - The Orpheus
We’ve called in one of Acantha X’s Capital-class battleships to break the stalemate. Freorra’s forces are numerous, their attacks relentless, our lines won’t hold much longer. The Orpheus should have left Hyperspace by now. It’s carrying much-needed reinforcements, along with enough munitions and supplies to turn the tide... without them, we’ve lost. Where is that damn ship?

Inside the Orpheus Moros Protocol takes place aboard the Orpheus, Acantha X’s colossal deep-space warship. Today, we’re peeling back the hull plating and giving you a look at its history, purpose, and what it means for the war effort.

The Orpheus is a Capital Battleship; a mobile fortress-city designed to carry millions of cryo-slept troops across the stars. It’s outfitted with cutting-edge weaponry, training grounds, agriculture domes, and a fleet of escort ships. In short, it’s a symbol of Acantha X’s military dominance.

Now, with the war against Freorra Industries locked in a brutal deadlock, both sides are growing desperate. Rumors swirl that Acantha X is preparing to deploy a classified weapon to force an end to the conflict. But with tensions escalating and every second counting, all eyes are on the Orpheus.

Will it arrive in time to tip the scales?
And just how far is Acantha X willing to go in the name of victory?

Thanks for reading, and we can’t wait for you to explore the Orpheus during our upcoming playtests.

See you in the stars,

Dev Diary #4 - The Darkphage

The concept of the universe cannot exist without life. But the Darkphage defies that concept. Its only mind is to consume and infect. It has chosen to become the universe, one without life.

The enemy has emerged, Orpheans.

During your journey on the Orpheus, you will encounter monstrous beings known as the Darkphage. The ship has been completely infected, with these creatures covering every inch of its corridors.

From winged monstrosities to crawling biters, the Darkphage are adapting to the human genome. They’ve completely taken over. Every inch of the ship has been taken over with infection. The last known report mentioned some kind of gigantic creature… the survivors called it Mother.

But it’s not all bad news. Some of the weapons on the ship have also been infected. Use their gore against them — pick up weapons like the "Bonesaw", a razor-sharp jawbone from a Darkphage. Remarkably tough and conveniently shaped, it’s perfect for close combat.

Take on the Darkphage in our upcoming playtest kicking off tomorrow at 4pm BST 🚀
See you in the stars 💫💫

Dev Diary #3 - Meet Alex

You have to have faith that he will protect you. Because when the chips are down, he's the only bet I'd make.

Good day, Orpheans!

In Moros Protocol, you play as the last remaining soldier aboard the deep-space vessel, the Orpheus. His name is Alex, and he might just be the universe’s last hope.

Alex wakes up from cryo-sleep. System guides him through the now-abandoned spaceship. As he explores, he discovers a robot called ODY-6. It doesn’t take long before he realizes something is wrong. There’s an infection on the ship that he needs to survive.

Alex is one of many Orpheans who were meant to protect the ship. Except something within the cryopod went wrong. After waking up, his memories and skills seem to have completely disappeared. Now, he goes against a mysterious alien infection known only as the Darkphage.

Eventually, Alex learns that System is what’s keeping him alive. Alex gains clarity (and new abilities each time he wakes up), he dives deeper into the heart of the Orpheus to uncover the truth and stop the Darkphage.

Take on the role of Alex in Moros Protocol! Thanks for reading, and we’ll see you next week.
