Chilly DevLogs from Alaska ! #36 - Integrating AI for an Immersive Experience
Welcome to a thirty-six DevLog for Alaska Gold Fever!
Hello travelers!
In this edition of devlog, we're thrilled to share the exciting developments regarding the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into our game.
Disclaimer: we are talking here about "NORMAL" AI, like every game is using , not about some newly things like chatbots or somethingthat can draw pictures :D
Just wanted to said that at the beggining so there will be no misunderstandings :D
AI-driven NPCs

The aim in creating realistic NPC's behaviours is to elevate player engagement and deliver a truly immersive experience!
Realistic characters that can behave accordingly to their times can captures the essence of the Alaskan gold fever!

But first thing first. It hard to make a good AI. First thing - AI must learn to not bump into walls too often :D Traditionally, NPCs followed predetermined scripts, limiting their interactions and responses.
But using some great scripts NPCs can now walk almost everywhere (where theu SHOULD BE ABLE to walk).

AI-driven Wildlife
Sorry no screens of wildlife here :( everything ai-related are only in those "white rooms" for now :D
Use your imagination :D

Okay so let's say that this point is a player, human or a town with people.
We must write our animals AI that way that if they will encounter it one time, there are willing to avoid it next time. It's possible but outcome can vary :D

Closing Thoughts
It's really interesting working on AI in gamedev. Even before this "AI Revolution" that we all encounter nowadays!
Now we have high speed PCs, Playstation 5 etc. but in lets say a NES or PS1 times the AI doesnt even had much computing power so its was hard to make a good behaving NPCs. I thing in PS2 era Ai in games beginned to behave more naturally (lets check a GTA 3 for example)

What will this cowboy do? Can AI decide for himself? We will see really soon and not only in videogames :0
