Trailer and Combat Arena Demo is LIVE

[p]Trailer and Combat Arena Demo Live NOW!

After years of work (mostly spent with preparing a robust framework), I'm incredibly excited to announce, that for the first time ever, the Combat of Sword Hero is NOW publicly available to try, in a Combat Arena with a limited feature set.

I've also worked really hard to bring you the first Trailer showing the first glimpses of the open-world of Wes, and island set on the edge of the Ringworld, where your adventures will take place.

I hope you'll enjoy this short Demo, as more news are coming soon!

I'll be monitoring feedback everywhere, so feel free to ask questions or just let me know what you think or if you have suggestions regarding the game, I'll do my best to answer everything!

Demo and Trailer Incoming!

[/p][p]I’ll be participating in Sword Celebration on Steam starting on September 1st, and with it, I’ll be launching a Combat Arena Demo as well as a new Trailer![/p][p]Spread the word! steamthumbsup[/p][p]------------------------------------------------------------------------------------[/p][p]The demo will go live at 12pm CST | 10am PST | 7pm CEST | 1pm EST ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------[/p][p]Here’s what you can expect from the demo:[/p]
  • [p]Choose Your Fighter: Put the Warrior, Archer, or Scholar to the test in the Combat Arena[/p]
  • [p] Trade Items: Engage in a unique bartering system where you can trade wares from the shop for inventory items and money by balancing the scales[/p]
  • [p]Equip Weapons and Armor: Raise your offense and defense with a variety of armor and weapons[/p]
  • [p]Treat Your Wounds: Use items, such as bandages, to treat your battle wounds between rounds[/p]
  • [p] Use Abilities: With Psi, use abilities in combat for the Scholar class in order to land devastating magical attacks[/p]
  • [p]Loot Enemies: Enemies may drop items when they die, which can be equipped or sold between rounds[/p]
  • [p]Five Combat Situations: Test your skills against five rounds of enemies in ruthless arena battles [/p]

Hey Everyone - A short update video! (Especially if you're from Reddit. :) )

Hey Everyone! Thank you for checking out the Steam page.


After almost 2 years of development, I'm finally seeing the end of my Alpha TODO list. Since the flashy stuff usually comes later in a game's development cycle, it is only natural that for Sword Hero too, for the time being I'm just sharing in-progress early footages - After all, all mighty forts need a stable foundation!

Even though I'm only working on Sword Hero in my free time, I've put a lot of care into creating this foundation. This means that all the hundreds of NPCs and monsters that are going to be roaming the island with their Daily Routines, need to happen in a performant way. My goal is to allow people with somewhat entry level PCs too to enjoy Sword Hero, but optimizations will of course continue even after the alpha Demo later this year.

And now, in case you aren't familliar with my Twitter (Where I'm the most active - I'm sharing all my latest videos there, on Reddit things are a bit behind.) - Allow me to show you a little compilation of my latest Twitter posts, where I'm detailing the foundations of the Crime and NPC reactions systems.

The Foundations of the Combat System

Hey hey guys! Happy new year in advance!

The basics of the combat system are slowly shaping up, adding the rest of the weapon types will be much easier thanks to the way I set things up.

Skills however will be a separate deal, likely along with Spells a bit later.

Today I've added Counter attacks for the Greatswords, after successfully parrying an Enemy.
This will decrease the "Bravery" of nearby Enemies and you will be able to unlock it by honing your Heavy Weapons Skill.
