patch 0.805

patch 0.805 - 14.11.2024

- Fixed confusing text when saving to clarify that nothing is being overwritten.
- Resolved a rare bug where the dialogue camera occasionally passed through the hero’s teeth.
- Ludolf continues to sell animals even after you've bought his village and confirmed that everything is fine (Note: you buy his village at the highest possible tribute, and he currently offers no quests).
- Corrected materials on a single door wall.
- Moved the info text slightly lower from the middle of the screen to avoid covering the target.
- UI information no longer blocks interaction with the rest of the game.
- Fixed the breeding bar so you can now adjust it to retain a certain number of animals in your building after breeding, rather than automatically selling them all.
- Added a safeguard to prevent naming saves in formats not supported by Windows, which previously caused a visual bug that appeared to make saves disappear.
- Fixed an equip/unequip bug where entering a UI or dialogue required a second unequip before equipping items again.
- Added decorations to Macko's Villages.
- Fixed the shoveling animation for NPCs.

**Co-op:**
- It’s recommended to start a new game to avoid cross-version bugs.
- Fixed a hotbar bug during equip/unequip actions for the client.
- Resolved the client-side kicking issue to prevent spamming and ensure damage is counted.
- Fixed a co-op save bug where the joining player could end up lying on the ground unable to stand.
- The client can now see tools in the hands of all NPCs.
- In co-op, your armor, hotbar, and items persist after death, not only the first 15.
- Items like arrows and potions now stack in loot after death.
- Improved map markers.
- UI fix: the player number bar now correctly displays 2 at the beginning of the game, rather than 1.
- Chat messages (such as “X joined the game”) now disappear after a short time.
- Pressing Enter opens and closes the chat if you type nothing.

Patch 0.84

 • Added Chinese and Russian language support.
 • Tribute arrival notification added (sound + text) in the left corner of the screen.
 • Gold in inventory no longer shows as 0 after reload.
 • Resource merchant bar now shows the quantity to be purchased, not the amount to be paid.
 • Act 1 ending added upon completion of the last main story quest.
 • Added sounds for drinking and eating actions.

Patch 0.803

- Added French, Spanish, and Portuguese language support
- Fixed missing carpenter's plans if you spoke with him but didn’t complete the quest right away
- Fixed Hans appearing in the battering ram after completing the Morold quests
- Fixed occasional disappearance of the village headman
- Oswald’s guards now fight alongside him, so be cautious
- Fixed the co-op bug where the joining player couldn’t see the outer walls of buildings
- Minor graphical fixes.

All bugs were fixed in a way, that restarting the game is not necessary to enjoy the rest of the content.

Hotfix 0.801

Hotfix 0.801

Fixed the autocomplete bugs. You can finish all your quests that got stuck because you roamed the land first. You don`t have to start again.

Robber Knight Update

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
Welcome, mighty Feudal Lords and Ladies! :)
It’s time for the Robber Knight update. It’s time to… ah, I’d better quote Skinny:

"Make Robber Knight great again!"

I wanted to start by making a list of what’s different, what’s improved, etc. While preparing that list, I realized the only thing these two games have in common is Hamish and Peterlin.

We actually made a leap of faith and, based on your feedback, created a completely new game for you. I was very nervous about it, but after the beta, I’m much less stressed, thanks to your comments:

"Otherwise, I'd like to give huge praise to the development team because I really, really like the beta. The game keeps getting better and better, and I believe it has the potential to become something truly big. Thank you for taking this bold step!"

Dom 11

I want you to know it meant a lot to us. :)

Another one from one of our first supporters, a sort of gaming friend:

"it is better to progress than to aim for perfection, for progress always happens, perfection never will."

Oberonu

And I believe progress is what you’ll see when you fire up the update.

"All is well, and I know your hard work is stressful to put out a product, but I am so glad you are taking your time and being forthright about it. >CHEERS
Zoryx555

So you all made sure we feel comfortable with our efforts to produce something great. We feel like the place we are in today is a great place:

to Start – the real development of the game – the real early access – with a smooth, steady progress toward the premiere. I hope you’ll feel it too.
Why such a big change
Reading your feedback made me think that something wasn’t right—that I had missed the point and uniqueness of the game.

One of our first supporters, MadKitty, was almost mad at me. And I was like, "Wtf, so much work, how can he be mad at me?"

But a real eye-opener was a video from an almost 1-million-subscriber YouTuber – Splattercatgaming. I was totally sure something had gone very wrong.

The games you were comparing us to were in a totally different direction than the original intent. I hope, for good or bad, that today’s version will show you we’re back on the Robber Knight track. And that it’s fun!

At the same time, we’re giving you the option to build, rule, and expand your lands.
We are very proud
I know I’m putting a target on my back right now, but to hell with it. We are a two-person team, and we are totally aware there is still a lot to do. But for a two-person team, I think this is foki** awesome.

Sorry for the bad language, but I feel it describes it best. And as mentioned by Oberonu, he wants to see progress, and there was so much progress that this alone makes us really proud. When you have fun, that would be heaven for us.
Thank you
We chose this ourselves, and we are very happy about it, but… You know, making games is a very hard business. I mean, you break your back over the screen for 14 hours a day, sometimes for months without a day off. And then you see comments like "this is shit," or "it’s a faking scam." It really messes with your head.

But then you get all that support from beautiful people like you, who help us find bugs, tell us to take our time, show patience, and believe that we will deliver. And you just want to keep going no matter what.

Thank you so much, mighty Feudal Lords and Ladies! :)

Your scribe and developer,
Sartorian
Main Changes for version 0.8
- Technically, it’s really a new game, but let’s try:

- Engine Version: we are now on Unreal 5.

- Story: The main idea is the same: our brother betrayed us, we start from nothing. But the rest is completely different. This is Act 1 for now, and it only shows that the game world takes your actions into account.

- Game genre and gameplay: We are now an RPG with 4X strategy elements. So how it works: you play a normal RPG, but for your rewards (loot), you can not only buy new gear or items to make you stronger, but also an army, new technologies, or buildings to develop your land. Maybe I should use RTS instead of 4X. We’ll see how you feel about it.

- Complete graphic overhaul: All models, textures, and materials are new, or at least repainted or remade.

Ah, just try it out – we’re starting with the patch notes from 0.81 again.
