VRM Posing Desktop News

My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer, so I had to take a break for a while.

Thanks for using my app.

Last year, my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer, so, I had to take a break from my indie development.

Thankfully, her surgery and follow-up treatment went well, so now I can spend my full time for my indiedev.

I'll keep actively following any updates to the VRM format going forward.

Quick notice

I changed my business name to ElvNeko, because I wanted to switch my mindset.

"Neko" means "cat" in Japanese.

My previous brand names often made people think I was good at speaking English, so this time I wanted to choose a short name that reflects my Japanese roots.

Recently, I’ve been working on 3D modeling my mascot character in Blender and giving Unreal Engine rendering a try.

Right now, I'm interested in Blender, Unreal Engine, and languages like C++ and Rust.
I’m actively learning these and want to keep developing apps and games that will help creators in the future.

If you're even a little bit interested in my progress, I’d be happy if you checked out from my social media.

I’ve also started using some other social media from last week.

Thank you for reading to the end.
I hope that my app can help your creative works in some small way.

[Version 4.0.8] vrm 1.0 support

[Version 4.0.8] vrm 1.0 support

I updated VRoid SDK to v0.3.0 and UniVRM to 0.113.0.

And so, now VRM Posing Desktop can import vrm1.0.
Changes due to the UniVRM10 impact
Due to MToon10 specifications, shadow color and appearance may differ from MToon when importing Series 0 models.

Related UniVRM issues.
* ShadeColor is not multiplying in MToon10
https://github.com/vrm-c/UniVRM/issues/2037

* In VRM 1.0, I would like the influence from light sources to be the same level as the old Shader (VRM/MToon).
https://github.com/vrm-c/UniVRM/issues/2147

Other changes compared to version 4.0.7 include

* Deleted the ability to limit the wind function's area of influence to hair only.

* When using the Save Camera Transform or Save Scene functions in previous versions, characters and Props will be flipped 180 degrees. I apologize for the inconvenience, but please re-save the scene or camera with the new version.
Update Schedule
I want to support VRM Animation format as pose, for which a draft has recently been released.

The update schedule is maintained at the following URL

[Version4.0.5] HDRI(360° Background) / Root Transform option for VMC protocol

Version 4.0.5
HDRI(360° Background)
A sphere has been installed that can display 360° images in the scene.

hdr files can be imported.

Please use the background image panel to switch between fixed and 360° images.

The anime style HDRI backgrounds in the presets were purchased from the Unity Asset Store.
Root Transform option for VMC protocol
Added a check box to the VMC protocol menu asking if Root Transform information should be sent.

Future updates

 • V4.0.6: vrm1.0

I hope that my app helps your creative works.

[Version4.0.4] VMC protocol, not OSC/VMC protocol

Changed the notation "OSC/VMC protocol" to "VMC protocol" in the application.

It seems that the developers of the VMC protocol are troubled by the widespread use of the name OCS/VMC protocol.

The following is what the developer has to say

The mysterious name "VMC/OSC" has been spreading, and there are various problems such as the misunderstanding that it can be connected to VRChat, which is also OSC, so we are quite concerned about the name other than VMCProtocol.

Here is that tweet.

https://twitter.com/sh_akira/status/1664886215257231360?s=20

I was referring to the notation "OSC/VMC protocol" at VSeeFace and used the same wording in my application.

But, I changed that word to VMC protocol in order to respect the opinion of the protocol developer.

If you find the incorrect wording in other applications, please let the developer know what they think.
