Grimlord DEMO v0.2.1 Release

New content:
1. The archery system has been redone. You can now craft a quiver and equip it in your back or waist weapon slot. Press the side button to pull out an arrow. Place the arrow on the bow then draw. Release the side button to shoot. Put your hand in the weapon slot and press the trigger button to switch between grabbing the quiver or pulling out the arrow.
2. Remove the Pumpkin Lord and the Halloween Challenge. Loot obtained by defeating the Pumpkin Lord will be retained.
3. Now compatible with Windows Mixed Reality headsets.
4. Optimized Valve Index headset compatibility, fixed weapon drop issue.

Fixes:
1. Fixed the game crash when picking up potions.
2. Fixed the glitch of grenades being detonated by weapons when placed in backpacks.
3. Fixed the jiggly wrist glitch.
4. Fixed AI ragdolling when stuck.
5. Fixed a issue that caused the character to squat in the game due to player's height.
6. Height calibration optimized, removed the height calibration option, added standing mode and sitting mode.

The Pumpkin Lord is hiding in the Grimlord Demo build. Teleport to the Reservoir passage or the Watchtower entrance, find a cavern that emits a vile aura. That’s where you’ll find him, be prepared.

Take his staff after you’re done, the one with a gem shaped like a pumpkin head, with a crooked smile just like The Pumpkin Lord himself, the only one of its kind in this world, then you’ll possess the power of the trickster.




Sir Sandialos of SorrowVille, also known as The Pumpkin Lord, showed his tracks near CastleRoar.
He was in love with mischievous deeds, he draws power from trickery.
The legend of his brutality traversed the land, he lured innocent children into his domain in a trail of treats, sealed their scared little faces in with pumpkin heads.
Once the children came of age, the pumpkins pop open, and the number of his faithful followers grow, with tormented souls.
Now, he wants you to see the world through his eyes, through the narrow gaze of the Pumpkin head.
It’s time to rid him of this world.
There’s bound to be hearty rewards for a hard day’s labor.

[h2]BEWARE OF HIS TRICKERY![/h2]
1. Summoning:
The Pumpkin lord is a member of the Necro Alignment, he can summon ghouls and reanimate corpses to do his dirty work.

2. Flaming pumpkin shot & Flaming pumpkin bombardment:
He is also a master spellcaster, he draws power from his staff and fire flaming pumpkin to his foes. The red-hot juicy pumpkin then sticks to his enemies’ heads, melting their faces as well as blocking their views, while he soaks in the view of his enemies’ shameful demise.
When he is threatened and really wants to end the game, he will fire five flaming pumpkin shots toward you, getting hit is unavoidable, death is almost a certainty.

3. Blink:
Even though he enjoys trickery, he doesn’t let any filthy peasants come near him. He will teleport away from you in the blink of an eye and continue his attacks.

4. Ring of fire:
Again, he really hates intimacy. When he’s tired of teleporting himself or simply not in the mood, he will cast this spell to push his foe away, as a searing reminder of never lay hands on him.



Grimlord Alpha test v0.2.1 Patch Note

Firstly, thank you all for all the valueable suggestions. We have sorted out a new updated fixing some of the issue came up from your reports. This updated version is a work of the community.

Alpha test will start on October 3rd and end on October 23rd.
If you haven't launch the alpha build and give it a try, please do before the testing session is over.

Today we are giving out access to all the new applicants who enrolled during the Next Fest.
Again, We are aiming to build Grimlord fitting our community's preferences. We will give out the full copy Steam Key of Grimlord to everyone who would provide us with well-considered feedback (content suggestions, content critics, bug reports, and so on and so forth), for appratiating your help on making Grimlord becoming a better game. Your feedbacks are gold to us!

List of Improvements:
1. Optimized longer item names under the Item UI display.
2. Enemy HP adjustment.
3. Enemy tweaks by the broken bridge.
4. Difficulty tweaks in the sewer where there’s an Executioner and three Warlocks.
5. Sight and behavior tweaks so that the Archer at the castle gate ignoring player.
6. Route adjustment at the main square.
7. Leather-armored enemies armor tweaks.

8. Great axe knocking down animation fix.
9. Modified the treasure chest model to make it easier to grab.
10. Fixed a collision issue that may appear when grabbing the door knob.
11. Fix a glitch that arrows might be destroyed when grabbing weapons during archery.

13. Fixed the issue that when looking down, move speed is slowed in Camera mode.
14. Fixed the issue of throwing weapons unable to penetrate.
15. Fix the issue of weapon dropping or flying out when player is moving.
16. Fixed the glitch of enemies can’t be killed by falling.
17. Fixed the glitch of the Swordsman Boss stuck by terrain.

we completed the first map of the game—Castle Roar, which is now open for exploration. There is more item supply point. Also, treasure chests are added for players to find legendary weapons and components. Now we have more weapons and weapon parts to be chosen from, and slightly more options to be crafted in the Blacksmith. Expanding the variety of weapons will be our priority after the implementation of progression systems.





We incorporated a climbing system, some hidden places can only be accessed by climbing up walls. It would be fun to strategically flank and assassinate your opponents.




In addition to the undead, human mercenaries have also joined the fight. They are more cunning and more lethal, their movements are unpredictable and their combat tactics are versatile. And each type of human enemy has a unique personality. Some are bolder and will get up in your face as soon as they see you, some are more discreet and favor long-range weapons and vantage points, and some will gang up on you or gradually surround you. Their AI will be much more complex and intricate in later versions.



To reflect a bit of reality when it comes to human enemies, if you hit them in their weak points like exposed necks or gaps in helmets, they will drop dead immediately. So, practice more and master your technics if you want to one-shot them.




Various mechanics and content including talent tree, new boss fights, and new regions, NPCs, and weapon parts are set to be updated in later versions!

New content:
1. New region: Castle Roar, is open to exploring!
2. New enemy AI: Human hostile. They will wield different weapons and combine different tactics when fighting you.
3. New enemy type: Mercenary scouts, lightly armored archers, and bowmen.
4. New enemy type: Imperial sentry guards, heavily armored master at arms that love close-quarter combat.
5. New enemy type: Warlocks without banners, cloth, and leather armored necromancers that summon ghouls.
6. Added treasure chests where you can find weapon parts or supplies.
7. Added weapon parts that you can obtain by going through treasure chests.
8. You can use new weapon parts to craft new weapons in the forge.
9. New interactives that allow you to open gates and doors in the castle.
10. Added Character creation option.
11. You can insert names on your save files.
12. Added a climbing system that allows you to climb on ladders and bricks on walls.
13. Archery system was redone, you can craft a quiver now and equip it on your waist, pressing the trigger button to pull out arrows.
14. Added a new dismember mechanic, now you can cut off the enemy's legs.
15. Add a new frozen effect. You can crush your enemies to pieces when they are frozen.
16. Added oil pots, you can throw them to form a puddle of oil on the ground which can be ignited and burn the enemy.
17. Add a new type of weapon slot. medium weapon’s handle can now be mounted in the large weapon slot on your back or a small weapon slot on your waist.

Optimized content:
18. The restoration points of potions have been increased. The restoration points of spells and life potions carried by players have been increased from 200 to 500 points, and the restoration points of potions obtained during gameplay have been increased from 50 to 150 points.
19. Fully recover supplies (potions and arrows) when the player resurrects, teleports, and rests.
20. Rendering quality improved.
21. AI efficiency has been optimized, to enhance performance when multiple enemies appear on the screen.
22. Tweaks the UI prompt rate of weapon slots to minimize distraction during combat.
23. Hand collision tweaks.
24. Potion drinking effects tweaks so they won’t overlay.
25. Enemy weak points tweaks, now you can stab the exposed parts of an enemy to land a critical hit.
26. Fixed some collision problems on some models.

Grimlord Demo v0.1.11 Release

Dear fellow adventurers:
We have been working nonstop in preparation for the release of BETA version in the past few weeks, so there hasn’t been much new content on the demo recently. We have collected several feedbacks and patched up some glitches and bugs in this update, and we will keep improving all aspects of Grimlord in the days to come.
