Pipkin Quality of Life Update 1

[p]I recently added two minor updates to pipkin which fixed some bugs / quality of life issues that some users were reporting, here are the patch notes:[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Added a money counter to the main menu (you no longer need to be shopping to check your money)[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug that was causing the post-battle Xp screen to load abnormally long for some users (thank you to the one reviewer for updating your review and letting me know these changes worked for you!)[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a minor pathing issue, letting you walk on areas you weren't supposed to[/p]
  • [p]Updated hex's library riddle, riddle answers are not case-sensitive as they used to be[/p]
[p][/p][p]Pipkin is my first game and I'm aware it isn't perfect. But I'm trying to update things where I can and improve upon it. I probably won't be making updates for every minor problem I fix, but I will be looking into others as well.

I'd also like to give a quick thanks to everyone who enjoyed the game, launching a game after years of work has been stressful, and seeing even a few people enjoy it has been very motivating, I really appreciate you all![/p]

Pipkin - Out Now!

[p]Yup, that's right. Pipkin is out now. [/p][p][/p][p]I don't really have much to say, but if anyone tries pipkin out and has any feedback, please leave any thoughts on our steam community hub or on our discord server - if any problems do pop up I'll try my best to fix them quickly![/p]

Pipkin Release Date Updated - Coming October 28th

[p]Mini update - Pipkin's release date is being bumped back one day to the 28th. That moved pipkin from being the 15th biggest release on the 27th, to being the 5th biggest release of the 28th.

Being higher up on that list is important for my visibility on launch, since I don't have a marketing budget. So sorry if that causes any confusion - just thought I'd let everyone know what's going on for transparency.

See you on the 28th! [/p]

Pipkin Coming October 27 (+ Demo Taken Offline)

[p]Pipkin will be releasing October 27! [/p][p]You can check out the full game's trailer on our steam page now (we also updated the page with new screenshots too)[/p][p]

Also, quick update on the demo - we recently took it offline, so if you have it downloaded, it might not run. [/p][p]There's a few reasons for taking it down - Firstly it was creating some misconceptions - due to characters starting at level 40 in the demo (for the sake of showcasing all the game's moves), I've had numerous players assume the full game would start at level 40 and lack progression, which isn't the case. [/p][p]The demo was also outdated in a lot of ways - I've recently overhauled the game's performance and added lots of quality of life updates since then, so I felt the demo wasn't leaving the best (or an accurate) impression of what the final game would be.[/p][p][/p][p]Aside from that development has been going good - I'll have more updates on October 27![/p][p]~Gregdude[/p]

Pipkin Demo V2 Live Now + List of Changes

Hi everyone, Pipkin's demo was recently updated to v2 based on feedback we received from the original demo. This will be the final version of the demo - so any bug reports or feedback on how the game feels would be greatly appreciated!

Anyway, here's a list of what's new:

  • We've fixed all the bugs & crashes from the original demo (hopefully)

  • Damage formulas & stats have been reworked - moves deal more damage, and max HP for all characters has been reduced by ~15%

  • The effectiveness of healing / evasion / revive moves has been nerfed, and enemy Ai will use those moves less frequently

  • Icons for each move have been added to the battle log, letting players know the damage type and elemental type of moves being used

  • The difficulty of boss battles has been reduced (for anyone who enjoyed the suffering, don't worry, the full game will feature a hard mode)

  • Two stretch goals from our kickstarter have been added - overworld pipkin, which lets your party members follow you. And also pipkin weapons: pipkin will now have six base moves, and can equip weapons to gain an additional two moves of the player's choosing

  • Movesets for all player classes / types have been updated (due to feedback that some types / classes felt underwhelming)

  • Weapon descriptions will have icons & descriptions for the moves they teach, letting you see a weapon's effects without having to go into battle

  • The movesets for each pipkin have been added to their encyclopedia pages in the main menu. Letting you know what moves a pipkin will have, or learn in the future, without having to go into battle

  • A bunch of miscellaneous changes to moves - many have been buffed, nerfed, or reworked. Some moves have been removed, and some new moves have been added. (We've also added some new weapons to the demo, so you can experiment with these new moves)

  • Six new pipkin have been added to the demo (there's also an option to skip the tutorial battle, for any returning players who just want to see what's new)

If you have any thoughts or feedback, please leave a comment on our steam community hub or discord!
