Major Stability & Ship Fixes!

[p]Good Evening.[/p][p][/p][p]We are deploying a significant update focused on improving core game stability, addressing critical issues related to ship behavior and enhancing multiplayer synchronization.[/p][p][/p][p]We appreciate your detailed feedback which has been crucial in allowing us to target and resolve these complex issues.[/p][p][/p][p]Please restart Steam to ensure you download the latest update. Below is a detailed breakdown of the changes:[/p][p]
[/p][p]---[/p][p]
[/p][p]Ship Stability Improvements (Addressing Critical Bugs)[/p][p]
[/p][p]These fixes dramatically improve the reliability of your Skyship and reduce instances of data corruption or unexpected behavior.[/p][p]
[/p]
  • [p]Multiple changes have been implemented to significantly improve the issue of ships unexpectedly disappearing. We continue to track one remaining, highly complex reproduction case.[/p]
  • [p]Addressed the issue where anchored ships would suddenly move after appearing (anchor bug).[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the problem where ships were prematurely orphaned, causing the "yeet" or "speed zero" issue when traveling between islands. General stability in this area is improved.[/p]
  • [p]When a ship is destroyed, the inventory is now reliably stored and restored upon rebuilding.[/p]
  • [p]Invalid ship inventory data (such as dupe or invalid entries) is now detected and accounted for. Ships should no longer fail to initialize or initialize incorrectly due to this bad data.[/p]
  • [p]Ships now spawn with a brief invulnerability period to prevent component destruction from early collisions or physics issues.[/p]
  • [p]Various fixes implemented around docking to resolve "quasi-docking" behavior that could cause the game to soft-lock when interacting with the Shipyard. [/p]
  • [p]Shipyards will no longer try to dock ships in range if they are already docked, leading to shipyards being unusable.[/p]
  • [p]Migrating from older save data will no longer corrupt ship data. Existing corrupt data from previous migrations will now be detected and fixed.[/p]
[p]
[/p][p]Co-op & Multiplayer Synchronization[/p][p]
[/p][p]Multiplayer sessions should now be more reliable, with consistent synchronization of interactions and visuals across all players.[/p][p]
[/p]
  • [p]Multiple players should not be able to access the same inventory at the same time anymore, preventing item loss and some out of sync issues.[/p]
  • [p]Multiple players should not be locked out of ship inventories if trying to repeatedly interact with the same one quickly.[/p]
  • [p]Puzzle and other island objects should now sync correctly for all players.[/p]
  • [p]Turret laser visuals now work correctly for all non-host players, and non-host players can now correctly damage targets.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a random issue where players would suddenly die and their ship would disappear while flying toward another island.[/p]
  • [p]Male characters on remote players now display eyes.[/p]
  • [p]Hosts now only mark game sessions as joinable once they are able to spawn into the world.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where the game would sometimes randomly hang on the loading screen after already loading into a game once before.[/p]
  • [p]Ship storage Inventory UI should be more stable for all players.[/p]
[p]
[/p][p]Ark Computer & General Improvements[/p][p]
[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the exploit where Shipyards could be over-levelled by spamming the acquire button in the Ark Computer.[/p]
    • [p]Note: Players with over-levelled shipyards will have their hull count capped at the max. Players who leveled Shipyards past their current Ark Computer tier can purchase the next un-purchased Shipyard upgrade to force it back into the appropriate level.[/p]
  • [p]Added 2 seconds of invincibility after spawning to prevent edge-case deaths.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed Weather wall wind visuals.[/p]
  • [p]The "join" list on the world select screen now automatically refreshes every 2 seconds.[/p]
  • [p]Enemy health bar level HUD fix.[/p]
  • [p]Small performance fixes.[/p]
[p][/p][p]---[/p][p][/p][p]Thank you for your patience and ongoing support.[/p][p]

For a full breakdown of what's new, check out the detailed patch notes below:
[/p][p]Technical Fixes & Stability[/p]
  • [p]Coherence 2.0 upgrade. This is a big one as it includes some important fixes for certain island entities not being in the right position for clients after the host leaves. It also includes some performance improvements, and other low-level fixes which will hopefully improve the overall stability. [/p]
  • [p]Updated compression on ship part rotation storage. Hopefully the end of wall decorations rotating randomly 👀. Existing problems won't be fixed, but please let us know if you see it after correcting them.[/p]
  • [p]When a ship fails to load from rare incidents of corrupted data, it should now try to load from the "shipwreck" data instead. Investigation is ongoing as to why this is happening to begin with.[/p]
  • [p]Fixes to the way large ship containers work under the hood. This should prevent extra full containers from failing to sync with other players. This issue is troublesome. Please let us know ASAP if this re-appears.[/p]
  • [p]"Double save" when Save + Quit is used from the main menu, has been resolved.[/p]
  • [p]Fix for a rarer issue in the ship comfort system if the ship frame was altered whilst the comfort system itself was updating.[/p]
  • [p]Should now be no longer possible to add a second helm or core to a ship at the same time as someone else whilst building.[/p]
  • [p]Ship part damage should be more consistently visible to all clients. Previously would only work on freshly created ships, not ones loaded as part of world saves.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed coherence configuration issue on Metal Stairs[/p]
  • [p]All character dynamic hair and cloth should now simulate in the same timestep as the player (and thus be smoother/more stable)[/p]
[p]
Gameplay & Balance
[/p]
  • [p]Interacting with the shipyard when a ship is docked now shows the ship part stats (as it already does when interacting with the ship core)[/p]
  • [p]Fixed several schematic issues - Please let us know if you're still seeing problems upgrading[/p]
  • [p]A number of compendium fixes[/p]
  • [p]Added drift learn and salvage amounts for recipes [/p]
  • [p]Fixed some recipes that had no in-world loot objects [/p]
  • [p]Reduced battery metal cost[/p]
  • [p]Heralds should now aggro clients when the host is not nearby, including when the client enters a new world region without the host.[/p]
  • [p]Heralds should now no longer congregate around islands, and will not chase you out of their world region. They'll shoot at you as you leave, but they'll hang back until you are out of range and they forget you.[/p]
  • [p]Wind is now fully synchronised between the host and clients as well as now saving. So no spontaneous 180 degree wind swaps on reloading worlds.[/p]
  • [p]Atlas lifters should now work on the spherical and cube keys for object / hole puzzles in the Midlands region for all players.[/p]
  • [p]Harbingers have had a balancing pass and should now feel like a more appropriate challenge.[/p]
  • [p]Sails have been made lighter across the board.[/p]
  • [p]Rare sails upgrade now work again when crafting from scratch \[new][/p]
[p]
UI & Controls[/p]
  • [p]Fix for rarer issues when resetting keybindings[/p]
[p][/p][p]Audio[/p]
  • [p]VFX balancing around Orbs and Cannon audio[/p]
  • [p]Updated Boss fight music[/p]
[p][/p][p]Known issues:
[/p][p]The following are new issues we’d appreciate any information on:[/p]
  • [p]Possible for players when killed by falling tree, to not be able to move on respawn. Restarting the session resolves this.[/p]
  • [p]Sometimes certain LDS Container entities (the thing behind storage, ships, and loot bags) will fail to save on the first save of the session. So changes made within 5 minutes (before the first autosave) might not save properly. Saves after this autosave should continue as expected.[/p]
[p]And some existing issues of note we’re still actively working on[/p]
  • [p]When crossing between islands, it’s possible for the ship to freeze for 10-20 seconds, or until you take the helm.[/p]
  • [p]Possible to be left behind by ships under similar circumstances, causing players to fall into the sky.[/p]
  • [p]Storage desync - this is due to duplicated “ghost” storage in ship data, still investigating.[/p]
  • [p]Bald islands - we’ve had much fewer internal reports on this, so not 100% confident we’ve solved them all yet.[/p]
