Demo Ending Soon!

Hello! We launched the demo two months ago and have gotten an incredible amount of feedback that we believe has improved the game substantially already. We wanted to give everyone a week's notice that the demo will no longer be available starting September 25th. Thank you for all of those that played and gave feedback/reported issues.

Moving forward we want to refocus our efforts on features and content players will find later in the game as well as improving the early game even more. We plan to bring the demo back in a few months leading up to our Early Access launch.

AutoForge Demo Update: v0.1.5

Huge update to the demo! This has been slowly rolled out in smaller updates but I wanted to make a post letting you know of all of the changes we've made since the last update. Thank you everyone that has taken the time to provide feedback and report issues. We truly appreciate it!

  • Brand new tutorial system
  • New build/combat mode input system
  • Many Points of Interest are now spread around the world

  • You can now replace tiles under structures

  • Craft item tooltips now have more information
  • More input hints
  • Reworked splitter UI
  • Foliage can now be destroyed by your sword and blaster
  • Better feedback when attempting to dig/replace a supporting tile
  • The forge now dispenses on the bottom left rather than top left
  • Default craft speed was increased by 50%
  • Improved tutorial text based on feedback
  • Changed toolbar to set items with left mouse button

  • Fixed an issue with clipping through the ground when jumping
  • Fixed an issue with closing setting window with Escape
  • Fixed inconsistency with setting toolbar items with number keys from the inventory
  • Fixed a crash when rolling
  • Fixed a crash caused by Mana Turret bullets
  • Fixed an issue with drills not working on newer versions
  • Fixed issue with power relay tutorial task not always working

Demo Update v0.1.2

Thank you everyone for playing the AutoForge demo and providing wonderful feedback and bug reports. We've been hard at work and have a substantial patch now. We're still working on getting through all of the feedback but wanted to get this patch out since it has some major improvements in it.

  • Added lots of sfx and music
  • Reworked monster invasions to be more new player friendly
  • Doubled harvesting speed
  • Resource nodes are now "discovered" when first mining from them
  • Greatly improved interactions with Mana Conduit
  • Learned recipes for technologies can now be inspected through the research UI
  • Blocks can now be replaced by other blocks

  • Placing items now turn red when in an invalid position
  • It is now possible to rotate an item while placing it even if it is out of placement range
  • Transport tubes can now be quickly rotated by placing over them
  • Crank drills now need a bit more cranking
  • Cut harvest power in half when harvesting multiple tiles
  • Significantly reduced the speed of Porters
  • Improved descriptions for many items
  • Fabricator inputs now have placeholder icons with tooltips
  • Fuel inputs now have a placeholder icon with a tooltip for the fuel type
  • Improved Conduit Tapping technologies tooltips
  • Added item features to tooltips
  • Made it much easier to find Ancient Technologies
  • Scaffolding no longer blocks ambient light from the backwall
  • Changed UI dialog placement
  • Particles and sfx when using a Health Canister

  • Fixed an issue with pausing the game not actually pausing everything
  • Fixed volume settings
  • Fixed issue with assigning items to the toolbar directly from your inventory with number keys
  • Fixed settings UI issue when changing the resolution
  • Fixed issue with UI progress bars being rescaled improperly after resolution change
  • Fixed an issue with Forges sometimes not collecting items
  • Fixed an issue with Mana Turrets not consuming ammo
  • Fixed an issue with rolling up slopes
  • Fixed an issue with Otto floating in the air when saved hovering or on a ladder
  • Fixed an issue with porters not pulling from the nearest container

Early Demo Now Available During Kickstarter Campaign

[h2]We're excited to share an early demo of AutoForge![/h2]
This is an extensive demo covering the first several hours of gameplay but is only a fraction of what we have planned for the game. Keep in mind that this demo will only be available during the Kickstarter campaign and will become unavailable August 16th.



[h3]What is in this demo?[/h3]
This demo focuses on the factory building aspect of the game. There are many technologies to research, buildings to craft and items to manufacture. The combat and exploration aspect of the game are present but diminished compared to what you will see in the future.

[h3]Is this what the released game will be like?[/h3]
We have worked hard to polish up this demo but its not quite release quality yet. We'll be continuing to improve the balancing, variety of content, user interface, tutorial and nearly every other aspect of the game. We welcome your feedback either on the community hub or over on our discord server.
