Patch notes for April 4th

After a few days of work I'm happy to bring the largest patch yet. This is a hefty one with some juicy changes. Thank you everyone for your patience and amazingly positive support. These patches will continue so be sure to keep an eye out for them!

NOTE: Settings file was unfortunately reset but shouldn't be again in the future. Sorry!

[h2]Graphics/Settings Overhaul[/h2]
The following are changes related to graphic settings.
  • Fullscreen (Borderless) is now a toggle option
  • While in windowed mode the game can now be freely resized
  • UI now automatically scaled based off of resolution
  • "Framerate Limit" is now an option under Graphics
  • "UI Scaling" is now an option under Accessibility
  • "Text Scaling" is now an option under Accessibility. This is a WIP and large text doesn't always fit nicely yet.
  • "Pause in Background" is now and option under General
  • "Mute in Background" is now an option under Audio


[h2]Critical Issues[/h2]
  • Resolved issue with saving not working after deleting a world and creating a new one with the same name
  • Resolved crash on startup that some players would run into
  • Resolved an issue with monster invasions occurring more often than they should
  • Resolved issue with bypasses getting into a completely broken state
  • Resolved issue with fluid system incorrectly reusing networks causing a myriad of problems
  • Resolved issue with Plant Support getting into a broken state related to power changes and growth times


[h2]Additional Issues[/h2]
  • Resolved issue with game not rendering properly after a resolution change and still in the settings
  • Resolved issue with Research UI not displaying correctly after resolution change
  • Resolved issue with healthbar on HUD not resizing properly on resolution change
  • Resolved font visual issue that would occur after changing resolution repeatedly
  • Resolved an issue with monster invasions UI warning not being cleared after a load
  • Resolved an issue with some structures becoming "broken" from monster attacks
  • Resolved issue with using automatic harvest method
  • Fixed issue with plant supports allowing seeds to be taken out of them
  • Fixed multiple issues with Quartz "plant"
  • Fixed typo in Adamantite Ore description
  • Add missing text for locale key in Foldery UI
  • Resolved issue with Power Relay tutorial requiring very specific ordering


[h2]Balance Changes[/h2]
  • Void Matter is now temporarily craftable (will be removed later in development once we add more content to acquire them)
  • Worlds are now generated with many more Ancient Tech, several more Mana Conduits and other POIs (Point of Interests)
  • Another small wood deposit will now appear near the starting region
  • Improved starting regions resource distribution
  • Unprovoked monster invasions will no longer overlap with Mana Conduit infusion invasions
  • Reworked balancing for second tier of matter. They require less materials craft but recipes require more
  • Added in several missing prerequisites for technologies
  • Balanced Vessel Cactus harvest methods
  • Reduced Solbloom sawblade harvest method yield
  • Biomass II is now a biofuel


[h2]Other Changes[/h2]
  • Save files now use the world name and seed
  • Rotating items will now always prioritize rotating the grabbed item over something targeted
  • Toolbar now swaps grabbed item with the existing toolbar item
  • Significantly increased performance when power network grid is being shown
  • Foldery now has a technological item slot (requires existing folderies to be replaced)
  • Power Transmitter now plays running animation and has a light source
  • Improved icons for several items
  • Improved audio output from multiple foldery

Patch details for v0.2.6

Patch incoming with some major improvements to the fluid system as well as many important issues resolved and even some bonus changes. Once again, thank you to everyone for your patience and diligence in reporting problems.

NOTE: Any existing fluid networks may need to be picked up and placed back down to work properly to get it out of a broken state from earlier versions.

[h2]Critical Issues Resolved[/h2]
  • Resolved crash when attempting to destroy a fluid related machine
  • Resolved issue with many machines and other things not working properly after quitting to menu and loading a world or starting a new one
  • Resolved an issue with monster invasions incorrectly going after structures in Point of Interests
  • When upgrading to v0.2.6 any current monster invasions are cleared out due to them being in a bad state
  • Resolved issue with inventory incorrectly thinking there is space in it with empty locked items
  • Resolved issue with ladder slide sfx continuing to play after getting off a ladder
  • Resolved issue with Advanced Conduit Tapping research not unlocking tapping without a restart


[h2]Issues Resolved[/h2]
  • Canceling a craft with full inventory now drops the items
  • Resolved issue with planting Eldor tree not rendering properly
  • Eldor Tree now drops Eldor Bloom when harvested manually
  • Fixed icons for Pipe Bypass, Large Pipe Bypass, Fire Wisp Ovoid, and Wind Wisp Ovoid
  • Resolved issue with UI updating power production value when it is 0
  • Porter II placement render fix
  • Crankos is now indestructible
  • Resolved issue with plant support tool progress bar not updating properly
  • Resolved several issues with fluid connections not being established correctly
  • Resolved many issues with pipe bypasses not working
  • Resolved several issues with being able to establish a fluid connection with differing fluid types (this is a WIP and needs to give players feedback)


[h2]Other Changes[/h2]
  • Destroying a plant support now gives back the seed and tool if it is fully charged
  • Changing the plant support recipe now gives back the tool if it is fully charged
  • Gumvine shoot now stacks to 99
  • Tweaks to a few Tutorial and Upgrade Phrases
  • Mana Conduits now regenerate HP when not being attacked
  • Repair Tools can no longer be used on Mana Conduits
  • Reduced Mana Conduit hitbox
  • Added "Required Essences" to Foldery UI
  • Improved Excavate Upgrade Icon
  • Pump rotation is conveyed visually
  • Storage Tank now defaults to no fluid type
  • Fluid inputs and outputs now have to be connected directly and not from the side (there is a small remaining issue with this)

Emergency Patch for v0.2.5

A change in v0.2.5 to collect additional information for crashes has resulted in some players crashing on game start. This has been disabled with a quick patch v0.2.5.1. I apologize to those affected!

Early Access Day 4 Patch

Several major issues resolved today along with many minor ones. As always, thanks for playing and reporting issues!

  • Resolved issues with Plant Supports getting into broken states
  • Resolved issue with jump input sometimes not registering
  • Resolved issue with invasion idling in the fog out of sight
  • Resolved issue with Crimson Cactus not growing properly
  • Resolved item duplication issue when transfering items to forges
  • Resolved issue with player getting into a bad state and being unable to interact with items
  • Resolved issue with queued technologies not properly researching if a new prerequisite has been introduced
  • Resolved issue with Foldery not requiring power
  • Resolved issue with machines being broken from enemies
  • Resolved issue with Ancient Device UI updating with other device information
  • Resolved issue with modal dialog staying open when main dialog is closed


[h2]Changes[/h2]
  • Monster invasions now fully persist between save and load
  • Preserved tools from farming expertise are no longer put into the output inventory
  • Lava Forge technology now requires Obsidian
  • It is now possible to harvest blocks in front of items placed on the backwall (such as wellsprings)
  • Changed Torchwood trowel harvest method
