Form changes are back! Unique palettes on mini's; Bugs and polish!

Hi guys! Form changes are finally back. To perform a form change, simply press your "A" button on your default "party info" screen, the screen after selecting your monster and hitting "info" from your party.

If you monster has previous forms, or, is of a high enough level to evolve (and you've already unlocked this form in your Dokitech), a short animation will play, and your character will display it's new form in battles. For example, this will let you use Burnsby's cute sprites, but with Braveheart's better stats and upgraded movepool. Note, you can cycle through all forms (so if the monster has 5 forms, and you've unlocked all of them, you can cycle through them by pressing A each time at no expense)
*This feature is still being polished, but it's working without any major issues at the moment.

Another notable change this update is unique palettes on mini sprites, yesss, finally! If you have a unique palette monster, it will now show up in your PC, beside you when you're walking, and everywhere else!

**STEAM DECK USER** : Play the game in Desktop Mode, idk why, but Gamer Mode is.. problematic
**CONTROLLER USERS** : Make sure steam input is on, I'm still perfecting *some rare weirdnesses with controllers when steam input is turned off

Here's the full list of changes:
ADDED - Form changing re-enable with a new animation
ADDED - Unique palettes are now reflected on your monsters mini sprites (ui, overworld, pc, etc)
ADDED - I added a "levels" indicator to the double battles. It looks a little crowded but it's better than not having it
ADDED - You can now cycle through your party monsters by pressing up and down in the info screen
ADDED - Added better explanations to monsters typecharts (the last menu in party info screen)
ADDED - We have added a counter for trainer battles. Once you surpass 10 battles/re-battles, a number will appear in the top left corner.

FIXED - Some enhances were made to make crashes less likely on Steam Deck "Gamer Mode" (There are NO known crashes on Steam deck for users that play in "Desktop Mode")
FIXED - Typechart text not showing up for UI themes 1 and 2
FIXED - One area would not play the correct music or play two OSTs at once
FIXED - Some strange interaction boxes/windows when pressing A while running/stopping/quickly turning
FIXED - Some surfing shenanigans with the final portal were fixed (a while ago, but I never mentioned it here)
FIXED - Some spelling issues, confusing text/sentences, and incorrect collision/tiles
FIXED - Borderless windowed mode wasn't being saved and had to be selected each load up
FIXED - Some users skipped a couple of cutscenes by entering the end-game portal too early. If you were one of these people, simply loading into the game will restore those cutscenes and let you complete the main story as normal.

That's all for now :D the next big things on my to do list are this:
- Nicknames #1 will be next update I promise
- Rangers Guild thingy in the last town in Xelos region (practically finished)
- Still working on the hats / clothes system and special items for early supporters (sorry ;-; it's almost there)
- Upgraded shop system that lets you buy items with limited stock (like clothes, furniture etc)
- Underwater area under Aoi (tiles are done, area is done, new vehicles done, we're really close here)
- Last tiny little area in "new" region and post-story final boss (includes some new NPCs and rooms)

These are also on my to-do list, but will take a little bit more time to implement:
- House system. Where should I put the houses? I thought one in each region (or maybe 2 in Xelos?)
- Tenshou Tower: This is basically done I just have to finish the shop and house system otherwise this will be pointless
- "Bosses" and Steam leaderboards : This will be finished alongside Tenshou Tower update
- We are working on improving the localization system and the Japanese script, and have three languages we plan to add in once it is perfected

Thank you again for supporting my game !! I hope you're looking forward to the *free~ updates and additions as much as I am :D

After the above list is complete, I'll be working on new projects^^ Be sure to give the game a review in if you enjoyed this game, and check us out on X / Twitter, Bsky, or Discord for giveaways and news on new projects~

Hot Fixes + A 25% off Sale, tell your friends!ーWhat's next as we dip into 2025?

Hey guys~ This update only contains some minor bug fixes for rare instance cases. I was able to find and fix these bugs rather quickly thanks to reports in my discord server as well as some kind people who made a forum post about their issues in the Dokimon: Quest Community Hub~

Thank you everyone as always for your support on this and please look forward to further improvements and *free~* content additions into the new year :D

I believe we will be continuously updating the game until late February (but we WILL continue to do upkeep and patches if necessary).

If you're enjoying Dokimon: Quest, please help us out with spreading the word and providing us feedback and suggestions. This helps us not only improve this game but also gives us the ability to do better in future titles, and spreading the word or leaving reviews helps give us a greater fighting chance at making more great titles in the future^^

Additionally, we have already incorporated countless community suggestions (several people in our discord can account for this), so please be assured that your voice will be heard. Your feedback very well may make it in via an update or perhaps in a sequel. If you feel like you have been ignored, or maybe I haven't followed up in a while, please bump your post or double message me, your message may have gotten buried, or perhaps I got busy and your message escaped me.

What's next?
We also have plans to improve the localization system in January and February and incorporate complete localizations to other languages, including Spanish and Mandarin Chinese.

For a recap on the other features we are working on amongst general improvements, optimizations, and other QoL adjustments, please see this list we shared in a previous update:

- Tenshou Tower: This is a place where battle lovers can play against the odds for big rewards
- *Steam Leaderboards: A feature that plays hand-in-hand with Tenshou Tower (more below)
- Player Home: I will be adding a customizable home(s) / location(s) and items to fill them with
- Character Outfits: I'm going to be adding several "outfits" that you can get to change your looks
- Accessories: I want to add some cute accessories you can toggle on your characters, like hats or capes
- Fast Travel: The worldmap / quest log is being completely reworked, after it's finished we'll add "flying"

*Leaderboards will be a new system that will let you compete against other players online "highscores" in battles. There will be a range of different point systems, battle types, and difficulty settings, meaning there will be multiple leaderboards of different categories and you can play and compete in your favorite ones^^ This takes the Tenshou Tower to a far greater height than what was originally planned, but it's the least we can do for the community considering the enormous support we saw since the release just over 1 month ago.

What else? You tell me! Let me know what you would love to see, either in this game or in a game continuing this series :) Don't forget to leave a review if you haven't yet :D

Happy New Years! Cheers~ ♡

Drastic Moves Balance + Complete Worldmap and Quest Tracker Rework

Hey guys! Thanks for your patience on these, lots of big new changes and improvements this time around :D

As for moves, well, there's really not much to say (or show, rather) but I have manually gone through and individually triple checked each move and it's attributes and fixed any errors. I made an entirely new system in my engine to help streamline this process and make it quicker and easier for myself to make and modify moves, so we shouldn't run into any more major issues or discrepancies with moves moving forward.

In other news, the worldmap and quest tracker rework is finally here :) I literally completely remade both of these from scratch, and they're (in my opinion) 10x better than what we had before. Check it out:

The new and improved worldmap lets you use your WASD (or arrow keys) to fly a cursor around the map, to which you'll get to read the names of towns and areas you're hovering over. You might've noticed that I also added some additional points of interest in the map to make it more accurate too^^

By default, you'll have your character locked onto a single location on the worldmap (be it a route, town, or point of interest) and the worldmap is now completely hardcoded with its locations, meaning it is now dead accurate unlike before.

Similarly to before, pressing space (or any "enter" key or input) will open your quest tracker tool, which has also been rebuilt from scratch:

The new quest tracker now gives you the title and a description of your current objective, as well as the title of all the objectives you've completed recently. Since I'm working with extremely limited time, this has been kept quite simple, and despite being significantly better than the previous quest tracker, I am considering it a placeholder system. Meaning, I will be revisiting it and improving it further in the near future.

Unfortunately I'm (still) struggling to find computer time during my holiday so updates have slowed profusely, however I will be back home and working at full speed again in less than 2 weeks :)

Lastly, I'm working on a huge "changelog" like I included in most of the previous updates, which is missing from this (and the previous) update, which I'll hopefully be able to include in the next one (which will have some fun new stuff, like outfits and accessories you can purchase and wear) :D

If you wanna know more about what's coming soon to Dokimon: Quest, be sure to check out the last update blog we posted about a week ago, that delved into some new features coming to you via free updates^^

Achievements and New Region addedーExplore and Capture rare Monsters!

Hi guys! I've been super hard at work on adding this new region to the DQ map and I believe we've finally ironed out enough to start spreading the word.

I'm also extremely excited to say that achievements have been fixed and confirmed working by several players. All achievements should fire upon loading into your save, however, there is 1 or 2 that you may need to do again to complete (however, thankfully these two achievements can be completely very quickly).

With the addition of this map, we can find a lot of new characters that we weren't able to discover in the Xelos region. Additionally, rare monsters have been made more accessible as a reward for making it to the new area~

You will find lots of fun surprises here, including over 20 "new" trainers, some new items, and countless new NPCs with flavorful text.

The new map also adds several new areas, including both routes and towns, and music. The area is accessible after the main story is completed (when your save file reads 98%) and you must collect 4 specific monsters to unlock the portal.

These monsters are special monsters that can only be found in pink grass and may need to be trained and leveled and evolved to meet requirements.

You can keep track of which monsters you have (or don't have) based on the crystal surrounding the portal. The gemstone inside the crystal's supporting pillars will be lit when the corresponding monster has been obtained. When all four gemstones are lit, the portal will be enterable.

I'm still working on adding some trainers and NPCs to some areas, as well as some other additional content (and various QoL tidbits) that I have planned for the game in general, but over all I'm quite proud of this update and thought it would be decent timing to make an announcement^^

It's been difficult to find the time to work on Dokimon: Quest since I left my main home on December 8th, but I've been doing what I can to squeeze in dev time here and there during my little vacay ;)

I'll be continuing to work when I can like I have been, and also returning home on January 8th where I will be returning to working full time.

Some things I currently have on my to-do list before I finish up with updating D:Q and move on to new projects:

- Tenshou Tower : This is a place where battle lovers can play against the odds for big rewards
- ????

What else? Who knows~ maybe I'll end up adding in some more nice things! For now, this is everything on my horizon for THIS game. I will be working on other projects (new and old) starting in January when I expect all of these items to be completed, tested, and in the final game :)

That's a wrap! If you guys have any feedback or suggestions on other things we can include, let me know! Perhaps I'll add them in :) and if not... maybe they'll make it into the next game!

If you enjoyed my game, I would love it so much if you left a positive review :)
Thank you always for supporting me and playing my games, you guys are the world to me!

Cheers ♡

今日はずっと寝ていなくて非常に疲れているので、最近新しく書いたスクリプトはほとんど自動翻訳になってしまいました '';-;
