Supreme Ruler 2030 Update 10 is now Live for all users

Summer time doesn't move as fast, but work is continuing for the Supreme Ruler series. Our apologies that there has been a longer than usual gap between public updates. The last few fasttrack updates we released had some elements we were concerned could have negative effects on gameplay, we needed more time to evaluate those changes before pushing it out to all users.

There are lots of changes across various areas. The weather system wasn't working properly and has been fixed. The visual effects of unit shot, hit and kill have been updated. We found a cause of multiplayer sync errors and have solved it, hopefully that's the last remaining such issue. Some changes also relate to the existing WW1 scenario or the upcoming DLCs for 1936 Remastered and Global Outbreak.

Supreme Ruler Global Outbreak Preview - Demo

Announcing the Steam NextFest Preview and Demo of Supreme Ruler Global Outbreak!

Supreme Ruler Global Outbreak is a Survival Geopolitical Strategy game for PC, developed by BattleGoat Studios. It will be available as a DLC for Supreme Ruler 2030, and will also be included in the Supreme Ruler 2030 Expansion Pass. For players that don't own Supreme Ruler 2030 it will also be available as a stand-alone game.

The game has been created using the next generation Supreme Ruler engine, developed originally for Supreme Ruler 2030, released in 2023, and is still being further developed. Ongoing work will in most cases see both projects benefit from new features, fixes and improvements.

The demo for Supreme Ruler Global Outbreak is currently featured in the Steam NextFest, June 10th to 17th. The demo includes the first sandbox map for the game, Zombie outbreak, and tutorials to learn how to play. The full game will include 2 sandboxes, 2 campaigns and a scenario. Watch for more details coming soon.

Supreme Ruler games offer players the opportunity to take on the role of the leader of a country of their choice. Nearly all present day countries and regions are represented, from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe. Players have control over the finances, industries, military, research and diplomacy of the selected country. Gameplay is in variable speed real time, allowing actions while paused for planning and faster speeds to watch the action unfold.

The Global Outbreak setting offers players new challenges of a world where emerging outbreaks threaten humanity's survival. Governing your country is much more challenging as the world threatens to crumble around you. The challenge shifts from can you win, to can you survive.

For more than 40 years, the Supreme Ruler series has offered players deep and engaging strategy simulations. The series began with the original release of the first text-based Supreme Ruler game on the TRS-80 computer in 1982, making Supreme Ruler the longest running PC game franchise in development. Update Build 1286 Live on Fasttrack

While we've been busy with other projects, we've still been making progress on improving SR2030. Here's the latest changes.

Supreme Ruler 2030 Update 1278 is now Live

We realize that it's only been a few days since the last public update, but the community was quick to find some flaws in the new sanctions system, and we accidentally broke some of the tech tree in the last update, so adjusted our focus to get a new update ready as quickly as we could.

With version 1278, we've solved all the bugs that have been identified in the sanctions system. There may still be other issues, so please let us know if you see flaws in the system.

Below you'll find the full changelog for version 1278. It's a short list since it's been less than a week since the last update.

  • Many fixes to sanctions, hopefully we've addressed all the issues.
  • Events for Sweden to join NATO
  • Updates to tech tree (which had introduced a potential crash, now fixed)
  • Fixed "camera jump" that happened occasionally
  • Minor text and translation fixes
  • Ongoing updates to the tech tree file in /Misc (about 75% complete)

Changelog for Version 1275:

More fixes to sanctions and data file updates. We've even begun updating the tech tree flow chart for the recent additions (it's updated to ~1980, work is ongoing).

A new feature has been added to the game - regions can now be marked as sanctioned. This will put immediate diplomatic pressure on other regions. If you join a sanction, relations will degrade with the target. If you don't, your relations with the region that imposed the sanction will degrade.
