Livestock - Update 0.0.9

Hello there, Cozy Keepers!
It’s been a while since the last update, so let’s dive straight into what’s new!
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
A New NPC – The Rancher
The Rancher is your new friendly neighbor who lives really close to your shop. You’ll be able to visit him to buy animals, animal products, and automations.
Livestock and Animal Husbandry
One of the most requested features in the game was the ability to raise your own animals near your shop—so you no longer have to depend on the wild animals in the Valley. Raising your own animals (chickens, cows, sheep, and pigs) allows you to build a steady stock of certain products (eggs, wool, milk, feathers, etc.).
Animal Enclosures
Before getting your new friends, you’ll need to build enclosures. To do so, interact with the Enclosure Signs located around the Farming Land.

You can build up to 8 enclosures, which will cost some materials and coins.

There are 3 types of enclosures:
 • Coop – houses chickens
 • Medium Enclosure – houses pigs and sheep
 • Big Enclosure – houses cows

Each enclosure has food and water containers that you’ll need to keep filled.

By interacting with an enclosure, you can view your animals and their stats. You’ll also be able to sell or sacrifice animals from here.

You can destroy or change the type of an enclosure at any time—but only if it’s empty.

Enclosures have limited space, depending on the type of animal they house.
Getting Animals
To get animals, buy them from The Rancher. You’ll be able to purchase both baby and adult animals, depending on your budget and patience.

Baby animals will take a few days to grow into adults before they start producing products.
Taking Care of Your Animals
Owning animals comes with some responsibility.

Each day, you’ll need to:
 • Make sure they have enough food and water
 • Pet them daily to build a strong bond

A stronger bond means happier animals—and happy animals produce more!

Animals eat wheat, grains, and corn, and drink water.
Automation
Managing the shop, farming, exploring, and gathering resources can be exhausting. If you have lots of animals, automation can help speed up certain tasks.
The Silo
You’ll be able to rebuild the Silo, a large structure that stores water and food for your animals. Interact with the Silo’s lever to distribute food and water to all enclosures at once.

The system is super efficient—no resources are wasted, saving you a ton over time!
Enclosure Automations
Visit The Rancher’s Automation Shop to buy:
 • Auto-Petter – automatically pets your animals daily
 • Egg Collection Tray – collects eggs automatically
 • Auto-Grabber – collects items like feathers and truffles
 • Scratcher – lets sheep scratch themselves and collects wool
 • Auto-Milker – milks cows automatically
Animal Production
Make sure you pet your animals and don't forget to give them food and water before going to sleep!
You’ll be able to collect products from your animals every day after you wake up.
Animal Breeding
A super happy animal may breed overnight if there’s enough space in the enclosure.
Animal Safety
Your animals can't starve to death or get stolen. Not feeding them results in a bad mood and 0 production.
Thieves and Thievery
Many players shared that thieves can be very frustrating—especially when they appear often despite high safety levels.

So here’s what’s changing:
 • Thief spawn chance has been lowered
 • A cooldown will now apply after a thief appears, making them less likely to show up again for a few days
 • The Thief Perks in the Skill Tree now reduces thief spawn chance by 25% and 50%(from 5% and 10%).

Also, for those who prefer a peaceful experience:
You can now permanently disable thieves in the Settings → Gameplay menu. It’s totally up to you.
Changelog
• Dropped loot/items now save properly
 • Added a "fallen item catcher" system to recover loot that might fall through the map
Resolution Fix
An issue was reported with 4K resolutions not displaying properly.
A fix has been applied in this update—you should now see all supported resolutions for your monitor. If the problem persists, I’ll patch it again right away.

Sorry for the trouble! My current monitor is only 1080p, so I couldn’t test it myself.
Final Words
The past two weeks have been incredible. There was an amazing influx of players, feedback, and support!
I can’t express how grateful I am. I promise to do everything I can to make Cozy Keep the best it can be.
Thank you, everyone!

Quick Fix v0.0.8b

 • Fixed the Crafting Table still displaying the Flour recipe when only the Crusher should.
 • Fixed the Map UI displaying the mine map if you fainted in the mine and respawned back at the shop.
 • The Sleep UI will now be removed automatically after you wake up to prevent accidentally pressing the wrong button and sleeping for another day.

Quick Fix v0.0.8a

 • Fixed Blueberry Seeds showing up as Wild Berry Seeds when placed on a Table/Shelf.
 • Fixed the required materials UI appearing or getting stuck when not using a Hammer.
 • Fixed the Honesty Box not calculating taxes.
 • Fixed visitors buying prohibited items if they were available in the Honesty Box.

Honesty Box - Update 0.0.8

Hello there, Shopkeepers!

Before starting work on the next major update, I wanted to release a smaller one to add something that I feel completes the Farm Land update from January.
The Honesty Box
The Honesty Box is the best way to sell products (crops, food, and drinks) to customers who might not be able to visit the Valley when your shop is open.

Since you can't monitor or protect it all day, you'll need to place products inside and hope that customers are honest enough to pay the correct price.

Some customers who visit your Honesty Box may underpay for a product or even steal it, while others might leave you a tip for your amazing work!

The Honesty Box must be rebuilt before use(you must have at least Shopkeeper Level 4 to do it), and you can upgrade it from Level 1 to Level 5 to improve its stats—such as the number of visitors, the number of products it can hold, and pricing adjustments.

Prices are automatically set to the highest possible amount, so you don’t have to worry about that detail.

Depending on your luck, some days may bring great sales, while others might bring none at all. So, make sure to level up the Honesty Box and keep it well-stocked at all times.

You'll be notified each time you get visitors, but to avoid overwhelming you, visits will be processed after the portal closes and after you sleep and wake up.
Changelog
• New players will now be taught how to set product visibility.
 • Wild Berry Seeds can now be crafted in the Seed Extraction.
 • Fixed Cherry Tart using chilis instead of cherries.
 • Fixed Berry locations not being marked correctly on the map.
 • Fixed an issue where some items were not being delivered after ordering, but coins were still deducted.
 • Fixed crafting stations to return Empty Bottles and Buckets where applicable.
 • Wine recipe now requires an Empty Bottle.
 • Fixed Numpad keys not displaying an icon if bound to an action.
What's Next?
I'm carefully monitoring this update to ensure I got the values and odds right for the Honesty Box. I'll make balance adjustments based on your feedback.

I'm also aware of a few bugs that I really want to fix, but I haven’t been able to replicate them on my own.

Additionally, I'll be starting work on the next major update: Livestock—building shelters and enclosures and raising your own animals so you don’t have to rely on the animals found on the map.

Once again, thank you all for your support! ❤️
