Neuroshima Hex - Devlog#10 - New UI/UX Part 3

Hello again!

Welcome to the third devlog about our UI/UX changes!

In this update, we are excited to share some major improvements to the Army Preview interface.
This devlog may be short but is important ;)

Improved Army Preview

Looks much better, right? The new design is cleaner, with improved layout and visuals that make it easier to understand each army and its units at a glance.

Enhanced Unit Details

in the new Army Preview, you’ll notice that each unit's details are displayed more clearly.
Special abilities are better highlighted.

Something new...?

Next devlog will be (hopefully) about something entirely NEW so stay tunned ;)

Some things are still to change (fonts, small tweaks) and we will improve them but i hope new UI/UX will be appreciated by Players :D

Neuroshima Hex - Devlog #9 - Sounds of Wastelands

Hello!

Welcome back, strategists and warriors of the wasteland!

In this SPECIAL devlog, we will dive into the music of Neuroshima Hex.

We are offering you a preview of four tracks, each representing a different army.

But first let's explore them in more detail:
Follow the Borgo - captures the menacing and relentless nature of the Borgo army. This track combines dark techno beats with industrial elements.
The Last Outpost- brings a gritty, frontier spirit to the battlefield. With a touch of guitar and a classic "American" vibe, this track evokes the sense of a desperate stand in a post-apocalyptic landscape. Yeeehaw!

Moloch March - embodies the cold, calculating menace of the Moloch army. Featuring a blend of industrial beats and cybersynth elements. Do computers listen to the electronic beats???

Hegemony is Coming - This track is characterized by raw, aggressive sounds and a fast-paced rhythm, reflecting the wild and unrestrained nature of the Hegemony forces.

Okay, enought talk, let's listen!!! Follow this link to the Youtube to hear previews!!

So, which track is your favourite so far? :D
I can't wait when you will hear full versions !!!

That's all for now. We'll come back SOON with more informations!

Neuroshima Hex - New UI/UX Part 2 - Battlefield

Hello!

Welcome to the second devlog about UI/UX changes!

This one will be a bit short, but we are baking a third one, so be ready! ;)
Improved Battlefield Display

I call it the "battlefield," but I’m referring to the general battle display - the main screen you will be watching 80% of the time.
Let's see the old battle display:

OLD:

NEW ONE:

Looks better, huh? Improved UI, smaller fonts, and generally a better view of the whole battle. ;)

(Ah, I must say: those additional spaces near the "on hand" tokens are for SPECIAL abilities in specific armies.)

Now, when you are discarding tiles in the DISCARD PHASE, the small "x" will not cover the tiles, making it easier to check their stats!

(Remember - Never discard the AIR STRIKE!!!!)

Also, we are working on a special MOST REQUESTED feature. Here is a sneak peek at where it will be placed on the battlefield screen.

Hint: every player will have their own. ;)

More on Selecting Armies

After selecting an army, you will see a small animation and one of the units (from that army, of course). I hope you think it is neat. ;)

That's all for now. We'll come back SOON with more information!

Neuroshima Hex - New UI/UX Part 1

Hello!

Welcome, dear strategists and warriors of the wasteland!

In this devlog, I will show you some UI changes that we recently added to Neuroshima Hex for PC!

The UI (user interface) is an important thing, especially in video games. In board games, it's a bit tricky since there is no "pop-up window" on the table where you're playing the board game, eh?

But in digital games, the UI plays a great role!

We will allow you to take a sneak peek before the premiere, but remember that it's still a WIP (work in progress).

We took some of the feedback you gave us after the demo and on social media, and we definitely improved the UI and its experience in Neuroshima Hex for PC. (You will have a chance to check it out soon enough. ;) )

Token Check

Let's start with the "Token/Tile Check" function. This simple mechanic allows you to check the properties of any token you select.

Here is the old version. The fonts are too big, and there is a scroller. Not good enough!
OLD
Now, for the new version!
NEW
At just one glance, players can see all a unit's properties, including special features, stats, etc.

Creating New Game

We also changed the screens for creating a game and selecting your armies, AI level, etc.

Old ones - simple but not amusing:
OLD
New ones!!
NEW
Now they are combined into one big screen with additional features. It's easier to navigate! Believe me.
Online multiplayer screens are similar. Just wait for the new devlog. ;)

Quality of Life Improvements

As a bonus, we present an additional feature you requested in our polls and messages: shortcuts!
Simple as that, but definitely useful (especially for experienced players). For example, you can use your mouse scroll to change the direction of tokens before placing them.

You can minimize the box with shortcut tooltips if you memorized them all. ;)

That's all for today, but be ready for a new UI/UX devlog really soon. ;)

Best regards,

Neuroshima Hex - Armies: Death Breath summary

Hello!

Welcome, dear strategists and warriors of the wasteland!

Greetings, fellow strategists and warriors of the Neuroshima Hex universe!
Today, we delve into the ruthless world of Death Breath- a terrifying army that spreads decay and fear across the hexagonal battlefield!!

In this devlog, we'll uncover the secrets of Death Breath and highlight some of it's unique abilities!

Death Breath - Embrace the Rot!

These harbingers of doom thrive on spreading pestilence and destruction!
Who needs a healthy environment when you can have chaos and rot?
Wanna become a mindless zombie or a creature? No? Sorry no one asked! Now go! March at the enemy till you lost your breath. Death Breath!

Thriller night
There ain't no second chance

You can read in official army description:

Death Breath - "The Death Breath is a terrifying virus which began spreading forth from the eastern enclaves of the Moloch. It infects every living thing, changing them into brainless, bloodthirsty beasts. Victims of these attacks become infected with the virus, and so it spreads. So far, the most effective way of dealing with the infected are strong ammunition, grenades, and a sharp axe."

Death Breath have strong combat units and few modules, but they really rely on the unique abilities of an army like Zombie Pool (reviving units) or Tentacles (a kind of Net, but more strategic) and Absorption (HQ can restore health).
All these abilities can pose a great threat to the enemy!
If the players know what they are doing, nothing can stop the advance of Death Breath!

Strategies and Noteworthy Units

Zombie Pool - (graphic is still in WIP ;) ) - Player can sometimes revive fallen units! And you know what? Some of those units become STRONGER after reviving (came back as ZOMBIE).

Thriller night
And no one's gonna save you

Mutant - Yes, another mutant unit one the wastelands. But this one have ace in his sleeve. Actually this ace is a... gruesome tentacles! It use this to NET trap other units. Beware!

Tentacles in work. You need reallllly long sleeves to hide them.

---
Devourer - pretty standard unit, also have Absorption (for healing HQ) but if he come back as a zombie... he gains additional attacks!!

Thriller night
You're fighting for your life

Corpse - The Charge ability makes it easy to move into enemy lines without any problems. Even if he comes back as a zombie... he gets a total of 3 attacks (initiative)!!! A truly fearsome unit. Too bad there's only one in the whole army.

------
In the unforgiving world of Neuroshima Hex, where survival depends on adaptability and strategic bravery, Death Breath is a relentless force! The faction's unique rules not only define its character, but also shape the dynamics of every battle it participates in!
It's one of the most popular armies (that's what i heard ;) ) and I enjoyed playing with it too! Zombies have always been popular in pop culture and Neuroshima Hex certainly has its own "walking corpses" too!
