Mid- January Update




Hello everyone! It's been almost a month since he last update and I wanted to keep everyone in the loop. I have been hard at work setting up very code heavy features. Here is what has been accomplished since we last spoke =)

[h2]Imprint Systems[/h2]
The last vote in Discord was to implement the Chronomon imprint system (Passive skill trees). This was on of the larger things to tackle. Here is how it will work.

  • Each monster can be assigned 3 different skill trees, randomly given when you first encounter them.
  • 13 trees, one for each element. 3 different element tree types. There is an Attack, Defense and Support tree making a total of 39 total tree types you can have. A total of 390 total different skills exist. (This is why it took so long lol)
  • The attack skill tree can only be given to a monster of that element. (so you can't have a fire attack tree on a water monster)
  • Passive skills can range from base stat increases, party damage modifications, condition immunity and so on. Check them out on the next demo!
  • To unlock nodes (total of 10) in the tree, you must defeat the Chronomon of that element adding 1 to the imprint system. It takes 30 wins to unlock a node, needing a total of 300 wins of that element to unlock the final node.

Here are other things that will be in the next update.

  • New "Spectral" element
  • Exp share for all participating monsters
  • New battle animations
  • Timed status effects in battle (Wet, Shrapnel, Regen, Rust)
  • Held items for Chronomon
  • Loads of minor changes, QOL and bug fixes (Check discord for list)


[h2]--- Nintendo Switch Update ---[/h2]
I spoke to a representative at Nintendo last week and before approving Chronomon, they would like to see a version that represents the full game beforehand, not just a demo.

I am very confident that Chronomon will release on the Switch.



I will be working hard on getting the next update for the demo out! It shouldn't be more than a week or 2. This current update has a very VERY large amount of backend stuff to help increase my productivity as well. I'll keep you updated and again, thank you for being here!

Chronomon Demo Update - Town Questboard/NPCs/Chronodex

A bit over a month, we have some exciting features to bring you as well as bug fixes!

The town's job board is now operational! Complete jobs from various NPC and gain items, popularity and friendship. You can now increase your town popularity as well.

The NPCs have gotten a big update as well. You can now give them items. They have more dialogs as well.

Lastly the Chronodex has been added to view all the monsters. A new tool to scan monsters can help you unlock all the Chronodex data.

*** This update requires a complete data reset. You can do so on the main menu, bottom right.

--- Features ---
- INPC faces now show when talking to them
- npc friendship shown next to face
- You can give items to NPCs now
- They can Hate, Dislike, Meh, Like and Love the items
- Each one with their own dialogs. Increase/Decrease Friendship
- You can now click passports in the player menu.
- This opens the towns menu for that passport
- View all INPC (Birthday, gifts given, friendship)
- View town info (Popularity, Quest Board, lore)
- Mobile/PC now have free roam movement
- When clicking items outside shop/inventory, a pop up will appear with its info.
- Entering towns first time shows welcome pop up
- Adding gold will show a pop up
- Can talk to town healer from desk
- Switch between monsters in monster info menu
- ChronoDex! View monster stats/info and show any caught/seen
- Rotate screen in settings
- Scan tool added - Use scan in battles to learn more about monsters.

--- Visual ---
- Mon info menu background behind mon changed
- Leveling up now shows stats increase
- Leveling up VFX on monsters
- (Mobile/PC) Dialog border moved over past hotbar

--- Bugs ---
- Sleeping always caused it to be a new day
- Can walk behind Tvs
- Healer in town direction changed to south
- Aptitude always calculating 0
- Dialog sound plays if sound is off

Chronomon - New Demo Drop and Updates

New Chronomon Demo drop!

Completely reworked the demo and added HUGE amounts of features and fixes.

I have been listening to the community and hope the fixes are welcome ones.

Farming
Farming has been completely redone to be up to current day standards for farm games. Assign tools to hotbars, easy auto-switch between tools.

The new farm also has destroyable nature like any farm game should have - clear out your farm with your axe or hammer - Knock down trees, break rocks, sow the fields, plant seeds, water etc.

Crafting and Decorating
Although still a limited decorations choice, you can now decorate any part of your farm, inside and out. Craft fences (that auto-tile to connect), fully functioning gates, campfires, Chests and floors. (Many many more decoration to come!)

Inventory / Hotbar
The inventory has been completely reworked - adding a hotbar as well. This should bring the game up to current PC standards

New Map
A completely new map has been made, one that is significantly closer to the actual game. This includes a fully functioning farm, buildings (inside and out), full town and fields to explore.

NPC Schedules
Previous build had a very limited amount of NPC scheduling. Almost all NPCs, at least the important ones (INPCs) have a robust schedule system. Changing location, walking to different places, different dialogue depending on TOD and location and even Quests that can only be activated when on the correct schedule.

I will be working tirelessly on this game as I have been. A huge thank you to everyone that has tried and supported this game dev journey. Thank you as well to every Kickstarter that made that success come true!
