Champion Shift 1.0 Patch Notes - Full Release!

Greetings Champions! We welcome you all to the official 1.0 build release of Champion Shift!
We are super excited to exit Early Access and officially into full release mode. The game is in a really nice spot in terms of content, and it offers a pretty solid bang for the buck!

Before diving into the patch notes, everyone at SRG Studios thanks the community at large for all their help and support during Early Access, we couldn't have done it without you! We are a small team of developers, and the assistance from you all in hunting bugs and suggesting improvements has once again proven invaluable. You are all the best!

Here are the patch notes for this release:

STEAM ACHIEVEMENTS
Steam achievements are in! All in game achievements are mirrored in the Steam ones, so for all you achievement fans, have fun!

BOSSES

DYNAMO

- Increased Dynamo's Dash range by 100% and increased it's damage by 50% and added a small 0.5s stun
- Increased Dynamo's projectile speed by 33%
- Decreased Dynamo's projectile damage by 40%
- Increased Dynamo's stomp attack's size by 100% and increased it's damage by 100% and now does a small 0.5s stun rather than a 2s stun

STATS AND GIFTS

VEHICLE MAX ENERGY

The car is retaining too much energy and never seem to run out, we are implementing the following to improve the consumption of vehicle energy:

- Max Energy gift has been modified to award a flat amount of 10 energy per level [previously was awarding 25%]
- Reduced the amount of stacks of Max Energy awarded in Yggdrasil to 2 from 3
- Max Energy I now awards 5 energy per level (Max 10)
- Max Energy II now awards 10 energy per level (Max 20)
- The amount of energy awarded from energy pickups has been reduced to 5% from 8%

POWER

- Power Gift amount reduced to 9 p/level down from 15 p/lvl

CRIT CHANCE

- Crit Chance Gift amount reduced to 5% p/level down from 10% p/lvl

CRIT DAMAGE

- Yggdrassil's CRIT DAMAGE MULTIPLIER stat upgrade getting reduced:
- CRIT DAMAGE I: Reduced multiplier to 5% (Max 15%) from 10% (Max 30%).
- CRIT DAMAGE Ii: Reduced multiplier to 10% (Max 30%) from 15% (Max 45%).

- Crit Damage Gift amount reduced to 25% p/level down from 50% p/lvl

LUCK

- Luck Gift amount reduced to 5% p/level down from 10% p/lvl

CHAMPIONS

JESSE JAMES

- REZ DEAD REVOLVER: Fixed a bug where the damage multiplier wasn't scaling as desired
- Jesse James dash trail is now Teal like his clones and bullets

CHAMPION VEHICLES

- Adjusted vehicle settings so that controls are a bit more tight
- Vehicle Feel Adjustments and Assortment of Improvement and Fixes

- The following base stat adjustments have been made in due to changes to vehicle energy regen, consumption, and durability:

Wukong, Tomoe, Vegigante
- Max Speed: 33
- Max Energy: 160
- Energy Consumption: 10
- Energy Regen: 30
- Collision DMG: 150%
- Energy p/level: +1
- Durability: 25%

Toshiya Petals (Tomoe)

- Increase DMG to 60% [30% p/level], up from 40% [+20% p/lvl]
- Increase CD to 1 secs, down from 3 secs

Jingu Spin (Wukong)

- Increase DMG to 200% [100% p/level], up from 200% [+50% p/lvl]
- Increase CD to 1 secs, down from 2 secs

Mano Negra (Vegigante)

- Increase DMG to 300% [100% p/level], up from 200% [+50% p/lvl]
- Decreased CD to .01 secs, down from .25 secs
- Added a BLEED effect that deals 100% DMG per second for 5 seconds

Arthur & Jesse James
- Max Speed: 35
- Max Energy: 160
- Energy Consumption: 12
- Energy Regen: 35
- Collision DMG: 200%
- Energy p/level: +2
- Durability: 20%

Excalibur's Wrath (Arthur)

- Increase DMG to 200% [100% p/level], up from 70% [+35% p/lvl]
- Increase CD to 1 secs, down from 1.5 secs

Outlaw's Star (Jesse James)

- Increase DMG to 125% [25% p/level], up from 100% [+25% p/lvl]

Athena
- Max Speed: 37
- Max Energy: 140
- Energy Consumption: 11
- Energy Regen: 32
- Collision DMG: 125%
- Energy p/level: +1.5
- Durability: 30%

Phalanx Toss (Athena)

- Increase DMG to 200% [50% p/level], up from 175% [+25% p/lvl]
- The Shields will now always spin while in vehicle mode and have had their velocity increased 40%.

Gilgamesh
- Max Speed: 30
- Max Energy: 180
- Energy Consumption: 11
- Energy Regen: 32
- Collision DMG: 175%
- Energy p/level: +1.5
- Durability: 20%

Radiant Fist (Gilgamesh)

- Increase DMG to 200% [50% p/level], up from 175% [+25% p/lvl]
- Reduces attack cooldown to .75 seconds, down from 1.5 secs

VEHICLE

- Reduced energy drop chance to 10% from 20%

VEHICLE TECH

Rocket Turret

- Increase DMG to 300% [150% p/level], up from 200% [+50% p/lvl]
- Increase explosion area by 33%
- Reduce CD to 1 secs from 1.5 secs

Shotgun Turret

- Increase DMG to 150% [75% p/level], up from 70% [+35% p/lvl]

Forward Guns

- Increase DMG to 110% [55% p/level], up from 100% [+50% p/lvl]
- Bullets now can pierce up to 3 targets, previously one

Homing Missiles

- Increase DMG to 250% [50% p/level], up from 200% [+50% p/lvl]

Rail Gun

- Increase DMG to 500% [250% p/level], up from 300% [+150% p/lvl]

Broadside Blasters

- Decreased DMG to 180% [40% p/level]. down from 200% [50% p/lvl]

Machine Gun Turret

- Decreased DMG to 90% [30% p/level]. down from 150% [50% p/lvl]

Caltrops

- Increase DMG to 150% [75% p/level], up from 300% [+150% p/lvl]

CELESTIAL GIFTS

Ixchel, Spiritwalker

- All of Prismatic Jaguar's attack and ability VFX have been updated and improved

NAGA VENOM

- Separated Naga Venom's power reduction effect from the DoT effect so that it doesn't stack
- Gilgamesh's weapons now correctly apply Naga Venom.

INCINERATE

- Fix incorrect formula reference for the Incinerate gift

ACHIEVEMENTS

- iStone Pro: Fixed to properly track collection of SHARDS.

- Fixed a bug where all HERO SKILL achievements that required completing stages wasn't getting tracked properly.

HOTFIX 0.9.1

Hey Champions! Here's a bit of a quick hotfix, as we noticed some nasty bugs on yesterday's release. The following fixes were implemented:

  • Fixed a bug with kill count that prevented Tomoe from being unlocked.
  • Fixed an issue where some rewards from the end of stage weren't being distributed properly.
  • Fixed the description for the health upgrades, where it was showing more than what was actually given.
  • Fixed the fragment count shown in the Boss Defeated animation.
  • Shotgun should now have its own description (It was showing Broadside Blasters' description).

Champion Shift 0.9 Patch Notes - New Features!

Greetings Champions! The biggest update ever in Champion Shift is here!
We are extremely excited to bring to you all some new features and content which we are really proud of, and we hope will make your game experience much more awesome. So without further delay, here is the tiiiiiny changelog for this update 🙂

NEW STAGE SELECTION FEATURE
To give players much more control over their gameplay sessions, we have added stage unlocking and stage selection, allowing players to, once unlocked, start from any biome/stage they wish, in both single player and multiplayer.

Also, at the end of each stage, players can select (and in the case of multiplayer, vote to) continue to the next biome, stay in the current biome, end the run, or the final boss fight once all 5 biomes have been completed.

NEW STAGES
A total of 7 new stages have made their way into the game! New stages have been added to all biomes, each tied through quests to the new Relic system.

RELICS
These powerful artifacts can be found by completing Relic Quests in each of the stages in the game, providing additional boosts to the player’s stats. Hint: Collect all Relics, and the Dominion CEO will not be pleased, he will take it very personally :)

NEW CHAMPION: JESSE JAMES
The legendary cowboy Jesse James makes its way into the streets, brandishing powerful pistols and casting powerful undead summons. This Champion came out amazing and can’t wait for you all to try it!

LOCALIZATION
The game is now available in English, Spanish, German, Portuguese, French, Italian, Chinese (simplified), Chinese (traditional), and Russian. This is a first pass at this, so if you find any errors or have suggestions for improving the wording in these languages, let us know in our Discord!

DIFFICULTY
The game now has several difficulty modes to select from. Enemies will scale faster and present a greater challenge in higher difficulty modes. Test your skills and your ability to survive as you upgrade your Champions.

NEW CELESTIAL GIFTS
We added 5 new Celestial Gift trees, each with unique abilities to power your Champions:

  • Durendal
  • Ixchel, Spiritwalker
  • Surtur’s Touch
  • Enlil’s Aid
  • Enki’s Protection


We’ll leave it to you all to discover each one in the game!

SUMMONS
We have captured some Dominion tech! By gathering fragments, you can complete and summon powerful companions that will help you out in your quest to defeat the Dominion.

NEW MUSIC
Alpine and Volcano biomes have all new music, as well as the final boss encounter!

BALANCING AND MISC CHANGES

ENEMIES

- Increased stage enemy max to 150
- Enemy agility/speed balancing based on the camera being farther
- Added no enemy variants to final boss fight

GRUNT SOLDIERS

- These units will progressively get harder to kill as each stage progresses.
- All boss spawners will produce the toughest grunt soldiers for the stage.

MARINE SOLDIERS

- Will now appear in ISLAND and MOUNTAIN stages instead of VOLCANO stages.
- Several enemy units have been moved around as a result.

FINAL BOSS STAGE

- All mini bosses have been added to the mini boss pool.

- Aerial Sniper and Killboy Bot have been added to the ADV UNIT spawner.


CHAMPIONS

Due the new MULTISHOT and ARMOR stat modification, a general balance pass is in effect to move around stat points to allocate for these modifications

ARTHUR
- CRIT DMG increased to 150%. Up from 125%
- ARMOR increased to 5. Up from 1
- MULTICAST increased by 10%. Up from 0

ATHENA
- ARMOR increased to 10. Up from 5
- RECOVERY reduced to 110%. Down from 115%
- VELOCITY reduced to 100%. Down from 110%

GILGAMESH
- MULTICAST Increased to 110%. Up from 100%

JESSE JAMES

- REZ DEAD REVOLVERS: Reduced skeleton DMG to 20% WPN DMG (down from 100%)

VEJIGANTE
- WPN DMG increased to 80%. Up from 60%
- RECOVERY reduced to 100%. Down from 110%
- AREA increased to 95%. Up from 85%
- MULTICAST reduced to 100%. Down from 110%.
- CHUPACABRA: Increased initial DMG to 200% (up from 150%)

WUKONG

- AREA increased to 105%. Up from 95%

- TRICKSTER'S FURY
- Trickster's Fury now has a chance to spawn a clone upon defeating an enemy with his weapon. No longer buffs ATK/MOV SPD on hit
- Increased Weapon DMG increase to 40% [+20% per level], up from 20% [+10% per level]

CELESTIAL GIFTS

- Switched out multicast stat into boons that will now use multishot stat. Added Multishot stat tp hero stat sheet

NAGA VENOM

- We now have stackable effects in the game and we are trying it out with Naga Venom first. As long as the target receives another
- Reducing the POISON DMG to 6% DMG [+1% per level] with a duration of 3 seconds


STATS

- Created the Multishot stat and added the required boons, stat upgrades, and allocation on the upgrade tree.
- Switched out multicast stat into boons that will now use multishot stat. Added Multishot stat tp hero stat sheet

ARMOR
- New ARMOR formula that will now mitigate a % of damage rather than a flat value, increasing this stat has diminishing returns. In response HP stat upgrades are being reduced to take effective health into consideration.

ACHIEVEMENTS

- Removed a duplicated Wukong achievement (Tricksters Fury)
- Added a missing Gilgamesh Achievement (Burning Chains)
- Re-ordered Champion Skill achievements


MISSIONS

CONTAINMENT

- CONTROL POINTS is now called CONTAINMENT
- The objective is to "Contain the Infestation"

PRIORITY TARGETS

- INFESTATION is now called PRIORITY TARGETS
- Will eventually change the spawn config for this mission

DISRUPT COMMUNICATIONS

- DISRUPT COMMUNICATIONS now spawns advanced units instead of mini bosses
- The comm towers now have two variants that each have an orbital attack
- Comm Tower A: Calls in Orbital lasers that slowly track towards the players
- Comm Tower B: Calls in a barrage of laser beams upon the player
- Both tower variants will discharge an energy repulsion field when attacked.

YGGDRASIL UPGRADES

- Max Speed Stat Boost reduction
- Max Speed I now awards +2 Max Speed, down from +4
- Max Speed II now awards +3 Max Speed, down from +6

HOTFIX 0.6.12

There was an issue with the sound FX for Ymir's Howl, where it did not turn off and kept constantly howling away throughout the run. We have temporarily disabled this SFX while we investigate and fix it.

HOTFIX 0.6.11

Greetings Champions!

This update brings in a fix for a bug that was was blocking players from progressing the tutorial stage.
Thanks a ton to members of the community who brought forth this issue!


  • Fixed an issue that was causing players to get stuck when loading the tutorial stage for the first time.
  • Fixed the HP bar showing more current health than total health.
  • Car energy now properly regenerated and shows correctly in the UI.
  • Removed Marine (Machine Gunner) from Firestorm Fortress and added them to Shipping Docks, Temple Labs and Mountain Pass South.
  • Fixed an issue where enemies weren't spawning during boss fights.
