Trash Goblin News

Trash Goblin is part of the Wholesome Snack steam event!

Trash Goblin is going to be seen as part of the amazing Wholesome Snack: The Game Awards Edition livestream this Wednesday! And we're excited to say we've got a demo coming soon too... keep an eye out!

We're also featured as part of the Wholesome Snack Steam event running right now, and we're in esteemed company - please do check it out and take a look at all the incredible games!

Play Trash Goblin!

I know I know, it feels mean to limit this to anyone able to get to London but we’re so excited to have you play Trash Goblin so soon!

EGX is an amazing games event running from the 12th to the 15th of October (that’s right, it starts next Thursday!) and we’re going to be on the show floor with the very latest demo build of Trash Goblin for anyone to come and tinker with!

^us trying to impress you at EGX

Fair warning; we’re going to be taking so many notes and asking everyone who plays what they like and don’t like so be sure to get real with us! We’ve been planning this demo for a while and the team is hard at work making awesome stuff for it - and we’re focusing on making sure the chipping of Cruft and the sponge-based Cleaning gameplay is all super satisfying and scrunchy and that time just evaporates when you’re playing.

Just yesterday we had a team play and all wrote down everything we wanted to tweak or change - we call it snag list - and are already hard at work on making it as close to perfect as we can!

^Here’s a little peek at something in the demo that isn’t in the trailer. When you run out of time in the day, trying to do more work shakes the clock - because Goblins don't do crunch!

We continue to be blown away by the response on socials and across the whole internet about Trash Goblin! If you know someone who’s likely to just go nuts for this cosy little game we’re making, please do let them know about it!

Like last time we’re pushing the Kickstarter hard - trying to get those numbers up! - and every time anyone shares the links we get a new surge of people so please do whatever you can to help us spread the word!

We've got a Kickstarter!

Trash Goblin was announced to the world just two weeks ago today, and the response has been amazing! Humbling, exciting, and so heartwarming we can barely string two sentences together.

In particular, two things have blown us away - the support on twitter from Wholesome Games, and on TikTok from Cozy Tea Games.

^us, when we saw the response

First up was Wholesome Games, who tweeted our announcement trailer pretty soon after we did, and wowzers it got a lot of traction. You can see it right here, but suffice to say we were very excited by the 120,000 views it got. If one of those Goblins is you, say hi in the comments! 👋

You can see the Cozy Tea Games post here, and so far it's had over 160,000 views! Incredible! If you're one of the Goblins who saw us there, leave a reaction 😎

Both of these big pushes - plus countless others by all kinds of wonderful people across TikTok, Youtube and beyond - have contributed to an amazing amount of wishlists and followers here on Steam, and that's the dream - the more we get, the more successful our launch will be.

And that brings us on to our upcoming KICKSTARTER! We don't want to announce our plans yet, but we've got some very exciting news bubbling away, we're doing lots of planning for backer rewards and the like, and are looking forward to recording a new trailer for the launch of the campaign.

In the meantime, Trash Goblin's Kickstarter "Coming Soon" page is up and we'd love it if you hopped over and gave us a follow.

The higher the number (and the faster it grows!) the bigger launch we can have, and it also means Kickstarter takes notice which will double down on the excitement and noise generated when we go live. By clicking that green button, you'll get told the moment we go live, and that means you'll get Early bird (or should that be Early Goblin?) access to a bunch of limited rewards.

And just because we're nice, as a gift for reading all this way and clicking on that Kickstarter button, here's something we've not shown before!

^ A shiny coin our Goblin has found... but is it currency, or commemorative?

We intend to post every fortnight from now on, to keep you up to date with everything Goblin-y going on. Keep your eyes peeled, and spread the word!

Trash Goblin is here!

Welcome welcome! We couldn’t be more excited to have announced Trash Goblin to the world - we’ve been working on this game for about 11 months now, prototyping, playtesting and refining it - and now here we are, showing the world!

A look at the process from concept art to in-game scene. This is the workbench, a view you'll be spending a lot of time in.

This marks the first moment on what’s going to be a long and fruitful development process. We’ve got exciting plans to share (see more details below) and grand ambitions too.
Short term plans
Now that the game is public, we’ll be running more regular private tests via our discord, plus pushing towards a more public demo or two! First up we’ll be showing the game at EGX in London in October, and then before the end of the year we intend to release a demo onto steam - most likely coinciding with our kickstarter!

One of many may trinkets you might find in Trash Goblin, this Drinking Horn can be spotted getting a little spongebath in the trailer.
Long term plans
Looking Into next year we’re planning to launch in Early Access at some point - when we know the game is ready for that - and we’ll be excitedly adding features and polishing the game to a bright sheen in the meantime.

But we can’t do any of that without you! Please do wishlist the game here, we've set up a thread in the steam forum to collect your feedback on what we've shown so far, and maybe if you’re ok with letting your inner Goblin loose, hit up the kickstarter and register for a notification when that goes live!
