Devlog #84 - Save the Date

[p]Greetings Talented Gamers![/p][p][/p][p]Time for the final Devlog before the 1.2 update! We're excited to announce that everything we've been talking about over the last 2 months will be available when...[/p][p][/p][p]The 1.2 Update launches Friday 22nd August![/p][p][/p][p]So, let's talk about the last few things you can expect![/p][p][/p][h3]Chinese (Simplified) Localization is Here![/h3][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]We're wrapping up our work on translating Talented to it's second language. We want to thank the guys over at Level Up Translation for their hard work making over 30,000 words readable in Chinese (Simplified).[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]As with everything, we'll be keeping a close eye out for anything we've missed or any incorrect translations. We know people have been asking for Chinese Language Support for Talented for a while so we're hoping this will be a useful feature to many![/p][p][/p][h3]Save Backups[/h3][p][/p][p]From time to time, a Save File corrupts and goes missing. Although rare, it can be devistating for anyone it happens to as Save Files can be 10s or even 100s of hours of play time.[/p][p][/p][p]While we can't really stop Save File from corrupting when a power cut or unexpected crash happens during the save process, we can definitely do a better job of backing up your Save File so it's easier to recover.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Starting in 1.2, in addition to your Cloud Save, you will generate a local backup of your Save File. This means if you Save File on the cloud is corrupted, you'll be able to override it and recover most of your progress. The backup save will only be overwritten if you complete a run on a higher mastery than the backup save contains.[/p][p][/p][h3]New Achievements[/h3][p][/p][p]1.2 will contain 4 new Achievement to increase us to a nice round 200. This should be very simple unlocks for anyone who already has 100%, but will be a good excuse to try out our new content![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]And that's that! We'll have a full set of release notes dropping with 1.2 in a couple of weeks that will summarise everything we've added and include our Bug Fixes and other Balance Changes... Devlog #83 - Haunted Holsters

[p]Greetings Talented Gamers![/p][p][/p][p]It's devlog time again, and we have a couple of different things to reveal! But first... something very exciting happened during the Steam Summer Sale![/p][p][/p][p]There are now over 100,000 Talented Gamers![/p][p][/p][p]We never expected our tiny little game to reach such an amazing community! So from everyone here at the Talented Team, thank you so much for giving it a chance and giving us the motivation to keep making games![/p][p][/p][p]Speaking of making games... Let's take a look at some new stuf![/p][p][/p][h3]New Bandit Build[/h3][p][/p][p]It has been on our radar for a while that too many of Bandit's Talent Packages are "economy" packages that give you access to more gold, or combo points.[/p][p][/p][p]This means Bandit can sometimes feel lacking in the build variety department. So we're introducing a brand new Bandit win condition - The Ghost Pistol[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Ghost Pistols orbit close to the player and fire off a Basic Attack whenever they pass through a lane. They each have 3 ammo, and when they run out they're gone for good.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]We'll be adding a few different ways of gaining Ghost Pistols to the game, and they will be getting their very own Talent Package with some powerful synergies to top off the build.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Ghost Pistols should be hitting the beta branch in the coming weeks, so we're looking forward to hearing your feedback![/p][p][/p][h3]Quality of Life[/h3][p][/p][p]Update 1.2 will also see the introduction of a few frequently requested QoL changes![/p]
  • [p]We'll be adding a Run In Background option to the Settings Menu[/p]
  • [p]We'll be adding the option to have your Environment randomly selected each run[/p]
  • [p]We'll be adding more Gameplay Elements and tracking in the stats screen for in game objects (e.g. Wizard's Orbs and Summoner's Gravestones)[/p]

Devlog #82 - Beyond Legendary

[p]Welcome Back Talented Gamers![/p][p][/p][p]It's time for another update on our 1.2 progress! This week we'll be breaking through the ceiling with a brand new Rarity of Talents![/p][p][/p][h3]Mythic Talents![/h3][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]These top of the line upgrades are intended to be our most impactful yet. Each one will add a brand new mechanic to their class that has both immediate impact and can be a build around under the right circumstances.[/p][p][/p][p]They come with everything you'd expect, a unique look on the tree, and brand new jingle for when you learn them - and our very first Colour Talent Icons![/p][p][/p][p]We'll be starting by adding one Mythic per Class but, if you guys like them, we'll continue to add more as development goes on! So let's reveal a few for our original classes![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]With Supply Drop, Archer will be getting regular supply crates containing XP, loot and other useful objects from across the game.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]You can increase the rate of Supply Crates by discovering Talent Packages so all of that bonus XP can go to good use![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]As Wizard you can max out your build with the most powerful Orb of all - better yet as you discover more Talent Packages it will create Novas more and more often![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]...and Warrior will be getting his most powerful Throwing Weapon Talent yet! As you'd expect, these Medals will be doing huge amounts of damage even without synergies - but if you can find ways to increase the Combo Meter even further than usual you might even break the record for highest damage dealt![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]As powerful as these Talents are, they won't be guarenteed to appear in every run. We're currently experimenting with around a 1/3 change per Talent Tree - which should make them more obtainable on our Portal hopping Classes but a little more of a high roll on classes like Warrior and Bandit.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]As for the rest of the Mythic Talents, we'll be keeping those to ourselves until the update drops. Hotfix 1.1.83

  • Enemy Knockback resistance per Wave reduced by 50% when playing Summoner in Waves Mode
  • Fixed a bug where enemy Gravestones would sometimes spawn out of range of the Warrior
  • Reduced Enemy Spawn Invincibility in Waves Mode to 0.1 seconds (down from 0.25s)

Hotfix 1.1.82

  • Summoner has twice their usual Knockback Power in Waves Mode
  • Reduced the speed of Omegoos added by the Revenge Enemy Wave
  • Reduced the Health Points of enemies in the Adventurers Enemy Wave
  • Reduced the Health Points of enemies in the One For All Enemy Wave
  • Reduced the Health Points of enemies in the Bzzz Enemy Wave
  • Afterlife 2 now adds 2 Gravestones (down from 3)
