Dev Blog Vol. Final - A Peek Into “Lymbos” & introducing NPCs!

[p]Hello everyone, [/p][p]This is Toru Nakamura, Director of Vivid World.[/p][p][/p]
Vivid World is finally out TOMORROW!

November 5th 12:00 AM (PT)✨🎉
[p][/p][p]This will be the final entry in the series, and I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has been reading along😌[/p][p]I truly hope you enjoy this last post![/p][p][/p][p]Today, I would like to give you a glimpse into another world that exists beyond battle...[/p]
🦴Lymbos🦴
a mysterious realm we have been quietly developing behind the scenes.
[p][/p][p]Some of you who played the demo may have wondered, [/p][p]What exactly is this place?🤔 [/p][p]In this post, I would like to reveal a bit of the mystery behind this intriguing space![/p][p][/p]
🔮What is Lymbos?
[p]“Lymbos” is a kind of lobby space where Lemuria stays outside of the dungeons. [/p][p]Yes, you can visit this area in the Demo, but most of it remains locked.[/p][p][/p][p]This place is packed with all sorts of out-of-battle elements, such as Dungeon Unlocks, Perfumes, and Stickers, which we’ve introduced in the earlier blog posts. [/p][p]You’ll also find wandering spirits to talk with and reapers who seem to be working on some weird projects... [/p][p]The story and world of Vivid World both expand from this place.[/p][p][/p]
[p]The name “Lymbos” comes from the Latin word "Limbus", meaning edge or boundary. [/p][p]The concept of Limbo is often depicted as a place belonging neither to heaven nor hell... an ambiguous in-between realm. [/p][p]In Vivid World, this space was named with that nuance in mind. A borderland where players can take a break between adventures.[/p]
[p][/p][p]By the way, here’s what the initial concept looked like! [/p][p]It started with a simple layout featuring just color blocks and gradually evolved into its current form. [/p][p]Looking back now, it inspires a sense of nostalgia![/p][p][/p][p]Also, in the screenshot above, you might notice there’s a part that is locked. [/p][p][/p]
What could this be…?🤔
[p]We hope you look forward to discovering it when the game releases![/p][p][/p]
😈Let’s meet the loveable Characters!
[p][/p][p]Here is a quick look at some of the unique characters you’ll meet in Lymbos![/p][p][/p]
💎Vulcan (Jewel Researcher)
[p]A reaper has become completely enchanted by the beauty of a material found in dungeons, known as Star Fragments.[/p][p]Normally calm and reserved, it becomes animated and speaks at lightning speed once the conversation shifts to its passions. It proposes a deal to Lemuria: to exchange the Star Fragments you have collected for mysterious stickers from his personal collection.[/p][p][/p]
💎Nefertem (Perfume Artisan)
[p]
A whimsical reaper that lives in a cozy jar.[/p][p]It gathers materials and brews strange perfumes without sleep. Its crafting methods remain completely unknown, and the scents it produces change daily.[/p][p]It may speak in a bit of a jumbled way, but look at how it cannot wait to share its latest creations with you. Its enthusiastic charm is quite hard to resist. [/p][p][/p][p][/p]
💎Hermes(Record Keeper)
[p][/p][p]Hermes is a reaper who diligently documents every change and event that occurs in the dungeons, often without needing to be asked. [/p][p]Also a passionate dungeon enthusiast who takes note of even the smallest details. Since the arrival of Lemuria, it could not be more thrilled by the influx of new information coming in.[/p][p][/p][p]ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー[/p][p][/p]
Thank you so much for reading all the way through!
[p][/p][p]The release of Vivid World is just around the corner...[/p]
on November 5th!💫
[p]We have been able to continue our development thanks to all of your feedback and support.[/p][p][/p][p]Vivid World is not just about what happens in battle, but also what takes place outside of it. [/p][p]We cannot wait for you to experience it for yourself and to meet you in the Underworld after the release![/p][p][/p][p]Toru Nakamura[/p]

開発ブログ Vol.5 - コツコツできることを増やしていこう💎

[p]Hello everyone,[/p][p]This is Toru Nakamura, Director of Vivid World.[/p][p]Today, I’m excited to introduce a brand-new feature that adds fresh choices to your adventure:[/p]
💎 Dungeon Unlock 💎
[p][/p][p][/p]
🔮 So... What is a Dungeon Unlock?
[p]“Dungeon Unlock” is a system where you use “Spirits” earned under certain conditions to gradually unlock various systems and upgrade elements through a panel-based interface.[/p][p]By unlocking each individual panel, you’ll gradually open up new functions and systems as you progress:[/p]
 • [p]Panels that grant access to entirely new features[/p]
 • [p]Panels that expand limits, like increasing your item capacity[/p]
 • [p]Panels that add new recipes for Gem Fusion and other expansions[/p]
[p]…and much more.[/p][p][/p][p]Many of the important elements we’ve introduced before also become available through this system.[/p][p]In short, it’s a way for you, the player, to expand the world at your own pace and in your own style 🧬[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Let’s take a moment to meet the mysterious NPC who manages the unlock system...[/p]
💎 Vitruvius the Grim Architect
[p][/p][p]Vitruvius is a self-proclaimed architect working to “bring better living to the Underworld.”[/p][p]He’s supposedly overseeing renovations, managing dungeons, and improving the quality of (after) life.[/p][p]In reality? He does none of the work himself.[/p][p]All he really does is broker deals and still collects Spirits as payment. Ruthless![/p][p]You’ll always see him with a fancy gadget in hand, pretending to be busy.[/p][p]But the rumors say… he may also be making deals with demons behind the scenes.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
🌳 A Panel System that’s easy to navigate
[p][/p][p]The dungeon unlock system is presented as a branching tree of panels.[/p][p]Unlock one panel, and you will reveal the adjacent ones.[/p][p]Any panels you cannot access yet are darkened, so you would not get lost.[/p][p]Rare panels with powerful effects are color-coded to help you spot them at a glance💫[/p][p]Every decision, which path to take, what to prioritize,[/p][p]shapes your progression and becomes part of your strategy![/p][p][/p]
But wait… Will some features in the demo be locked at the beginning?
[p][/p][p]If you’re wondering if the features like Orbs and Gem Fusion will not be attainable from the beginning in ver. 1.0,[/p][p]The answer is yes... You will need to unlock those features again in the full version!🥹[/p][p]BUT, have no worry, we have placed those fundamental features early in the tree, so you will have them back quickly.[/p][p]The idea is to help players ease into each system, one at a time, rather than getting overwhelmed from the start.[/p][p]Think of it this way:[/p][p]The early panels serve as a gentle path to reacquaint you with the systems, not as obstacles to slow you down👍[/p][p][/p]
🤔 Addressing the “Wow, There Are So Many Systems” problem our way
[p]This dungeon unlock system was actually born from internal playtests, where we kept hearing:[/p][p]“There’s so much going on, I can’t keep up…”😫[/p][p]And yeah… we totally get it.[/p][p]Throwing everything at you all at once can be overwhelming.[/p][p]So we thought, what if players could choose how and when they open up each system🤔[/p][p]And that’s how this system came to life.[/p][p]But that’s not all. It’s not just about easing new players in.[/p][p][/p][p]Many panels offer core upgrades and strategic options such as:[/p]
 • [p]New skill activation rules[/p]
 • [p]Unlocking unique fusions[/p]
 • [p]Tactical enhancements that can change your entire approach[/p]
[p]So yes, it's a tutorial system and a meaningful progression path. It does both. 👍[/p][p][/p]
💎 In Closing
[p]All gamers, including myself, have run into this once in their lifetime:[/p][p]“Suddenly I had several new features and I didn’t even notice… OK, I am officially confused.”[/p][p][/p][p]We wanted Vivid World to be different.[/p][p][/p][p]We want you to choose how you expand the game.[/p][p]To learn by exploring.[/p][p]And to build your own shape of adventure.[/p][p]No one tells you where to go.[/p][p]You pick the path. You make the calls.[/p][p]When the full release comes, I hope you’ll give it a try![/p][p][/p][p]Thanks so much for reading to the end![/p][p]By the time the next blog goes up…[/p][p]We might be able to officially announce our release date!! ✨[/p][p]Please look forward to it! 🎉[/p][p]See you in the next dev blog.[/p][p][/p][p]Toru Nakamura[/p][p][/p][p]Vivid World Director[/p]

Dev Blog Vol.4 - So who contributed to the battle?👀

[p]Hello everyone,[/p][p]This is Toru Nakamura, Director of Vivid World.[/p][p][/p][p]Today, I’d like to introduce something we’ve been quietly working on behind the scenes...[/p][p]Actually, it was your voices that inspired us to bring it to life:[/p]
The All-New 🤖Battle Log System🤖
[p][/p]
🤔The voice, It’s hard to tell who’s contributing in battle…
[p][/p][p]One day on Discord, one member left a comment that really stuck with me:[/p][p][/p]
“It’s hard to tell which unit is actually contributing during battle!”
[p][/p][p]And I thought… Yep. Guilty as charged.[/p][p]Maybe the battle UI feels a bit too hectic at times.[/p][p]To be honest, this was something we had quietly been thinking about too.[/p][p]So when I saw your feedback, I couldn’t help but nod in agreement😭[/p][p][/p][p]That said, between all the back-and-forth of unit actions... and the need to display status effects in real time...there’s no way to avoid having information rapidly appear and disappear during combat.[/p][p]But still, we felt we could do better.[/p][p][/p][p]So after several brainstorms with the dev team, we challenged ourselves to find a solution that would be more intuitive, more readable, and more satisfying to use.[/p][p]And as a result…[/p]
A completely new system was born!💫
[p][/p]
📊See Contributions in Real Time: Introducing the "Battle Log UI"
[p][/p][p]With this new system, a damage graph now appears on the right side of the screen during battle.[/p][p]Each unit’s total damage dealt is tracked and updated in real time, right before your eyes.[/p][p][/p][p]The initial order of the graph matches your party’s formation.[/p][p]Once battle begins, the graph automatically reorders in real time based on damage dealt, so you can instantly see who's pulling their weight on the field.[/p][p]And yes… Lemuria’s damage is tracked too.[/p][p](And she often performs better than you might expect!)[/p][p][/p][p]As for the graph itself, it’s scaled relatively.[/p][p](The highest damage value is always displayed as 100%, and the rest adjust proportionally)[/p][p][/p]
👆Review and Reflect Anytime
[p][/p][p]Even after a battle ends, you can still open the battle log window.[/p][p]Before jumping into the next fight, it’s a great chance to look back at the final results and see how everyone did.[/p][p][/p][p]For those of you (like me) who get totally absorbed in the heat of battle and forget to notice who’s actually doing what, this is your chance to catch those hidden MVPs🤣[/p][p]You might discover some new favorite units by examining how much they contributed without ever realizing it![/p][p][/p][p]Just a heads-up: the log resets after each battle, so it’s really designed to help you reflect on who contributed what in that one specific fight.[/p][p]Also, if the screen starts feeling too crowded, just tap the "⚔️" icon on the right side of the screen to minimize the damage graph and keep things tidy.[/p][p][/p]
💎In Closing
[p][/p][p]This Battle Log system wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for your feedback![/p][p]We took the theme of “visualizing contributions”, which may sound simple, but is incredibly important, and we worked hard to present it in a way that’s both instantly clear and doesn’t break the game’s pacing.[/p][p]This feature marks another important step in Vivid World’s evolution.[/p][p]When the game’s out, I really hope you’ll give it a try![/p][p][/p][p]Thank you so much for reading all the way to the end![/p][p]As for the next dev blog topic… well, truth is, I haven’t decided yet![/p][p]Until then, I’ll see you in the next dev blog.[/p][p][/p][p]Toru Nakamura[/p]
