Omer here from Oba Games, bringing you the latest updates on what's been happening in the last week:

[h3]Dark UI[/h3]
After considering your feedback and engaging in discussions and brainstorming sessions, we've delved into the realm of Dark UI. Our current plan is to maintain both UI options, giving players the choice.
Originally, our goal with the original UI was to create a Turkic oriental vibe. With the new Dark UI, we're aiming for a cleaner, text-based, and less eye-straining interface.
Here's a sneak peek at the early prototype of the Dark UI:


[h3]Troops and In-Battle Adjustments[/h3]
We're introducing a new element called "discipline" to the game. While not entirely novel, it's a fresh addition for us. In battles, we want to give leader stats more purpose. For instance, good leaders with high stats will be able to arrange their troops more tidily, whereas bad leaders will struggle to manage their armies efficiently.
Here's an example of what we're working on:


We're also working on adjusting the numbers and troop locations to make battles feel more dynamic. Our goal is to create a battlefield where the separation between right and left wings has a significant impact. In the new system, winning a battle on a wing will have a more pronounced effect compared to the old system where all the lines were close together.

Additionally, we're introducing the concept of back lines to make timing more critical. The decisions of when to attack or support the front line can now greatly influence the outcome of the battle. Perhaps you want your back lines to maneuver through the wings and forget about the center. It's all about strategic choices that add depth to the gameplay.

HWM Development Update V.0.2.7

Omer here from Oba Games, bringing you another dev update.

Unfortunately, I started the week with a bout of sickness, and, in true small indie team fashion, managed to share the "joy" with a teammate. So, if you find yourself around the capital of Turkey, maybe hold off on visiting our studio for a bit.
Here's what we managed to pull off in our half-dead, half-sick work timeline:

[h3]League System[/h3]
This mammoth update is still in the works. Here's what's cooking:
  • We've crafted the fixture, giving structure to the battles.
  • Clans now have their own schedules, adding a layer of strategic planning.
  • While your battle is ongoing, other clans' battles are quietly simulating in the background.
  • The league's starting and ending dates have been set. Get ready, as the league kicks off around May.
  • We're cooking up some pre-season activities, involving training sessions and friendly battles.
  • The league ranking table is now in order, showcasing clans in their rightful ranks.
  • UI System: This is still a topic under discussion. We're looking to enhance the user interface, and if you have any suggestions, we're all ears.


[h3]Battle System[/h3]
Currently, in the draft phase, we're working on refining the battle system:
  • I'm tinkering with changes to make battles more dynamic, especially in terms of unit positioning and strategic maneuvers like wing attacks or penetration moves.
  • We're looking to create more separation at the backside to add a layer of anticipation until both sides start making critical impacts with their backside forces.
[h2]Fixing:[/h2]
  • We've tackled the special character problem once more. You can now proudly see the "ğ" letter in all its glory.
  • The "vs." animation in battles, which is occasionally stacked over, has been fixed.
  • Units' size arrangement has been changed to squares instead of rectangles. This adjustment is a step towards solving some issues, with more comprehensive solutions in the pipeline.


Despite the challenges, we're pushing forward to make "Hakan's War Manager" the best it can be. Your feedback and patience mean the world to us.

Omer here from Oba Games, ready to fill you in on what's been happening this week. First off, a big thanks to all the newcomers. If you have thoughts or questions, don't hesitate to reach out on Discord or the Steam community. Now, let's recap what we've been up to:

[h2]Working Update[/h2]
Our major focus is on the League System. This is a significant step for us, and we're gearing up to launch it during the early access phase. But what's the League System, you ask?

  • League Seasons: Just like football leagues, we're introducing seasons in Hakan's world. They have a starting and ending point.
  • League Table: A scoreboard that shows how your clan and others are faring during the season.
  • League Rewards: Depending on your ranking at the end of the season, there are rewards awaiting you.
  • Season Breaks: Winter and summer breaks where your leader can take a breather.


These features, along with a few other tweaks, are what we're pouring our energy into these days.

[h2]Bugs That We're Aware Of[/h2]
We're also aware of some bugs that might have crept into the game. With just one coder on our team, fixing them takes a bit of time. Here are the bugs we're actively working on:

  • Battling Symbol Bug: Sometimes, when two units engage, a symbol should appear, but it's playing hide and seek. We're chasing it down.
  • Empty Scout Screen: In rare instances, the scout screen decides to take a break. We're investigating why.
  • Last Leader Bug in Scout Result: There's a pesky bug where you can't open the last leader in your scout result.
  • Quickly Squad Bug: This bug has a habit of assigning the same leader more than once.
  • Special Character Bug: Our game is shy when it comes to showing the "ğ" letter. We're coaxing it out.

HWM Small Updates/Fixes V.0.2.6

Hello fellow Khans! it's Omer from Oba Games! We've been thrilled with the positive feedback we've received, and we appreciate your support. This week, we've been hard at work making some changes based on your valuable input. Here's a rundown of the fixes and updates:

[h2]Fixes:[/h2]

  • We've tackled a scout bug that caused mayhem when you had three scouts simultaneously. Rest assured, it's fixed now.
  • Another scout bug was making progress reset when you exited the game. We've squashed that bug too.
  • There was a tricky battle bug where units got confused when you clicked on them. We've straightened things out.
  • A mysterious training bug where leaders vanished for no apparent reason has been resolved. No more disappearing acts.
  • The "Delete Squad List" button decided not to work sometimes. Well, we convinced it to work every time now.
  • The inbox had a date error for friendly battle dates, not catching the current date. It's all sorted out now.


[h2]Improvements:[/h2]

  • The highlight of the week is the in-battle orders feature. You can now give orders during battles. Just click on a unit in battle or on the represented unit under the screen.
  • We've introduced a new form of unit UI in tactics and on the battlefield. Now, they all have numbers, making it easier to recognize each unit.
  • Epithets are now in English, bringing more clarity to the game.
  • Zoom in and out on the battlefield is now possible. Get a closer look or a broader view—it's up to you.
  • In battles, we've added a "vs." representation, so you can easily understand who is facing off against whom.
  • When you zoom in during a battle, you'll now see tiny soldiers moving or attacking, adding a dynamic touch.
  • Some changes have been made to listing names for better readability.
  • Individual unit orders now feature an attack button, providing clarity on the ongoing actions.

HWM Small Updates/Fixes V.0.2.5

Greetings, dear fellow Khans!

I'm Omer from Oba Games, and we've been busy working on the game, and there's a demo update on the horizon. This week, we've been focusing on a new feature, in-battle orders, and some other cool stuff. Let me break it down for you:

[h2]Fixes:[/h2]

  • We fixed a button glitch that was causing problems with the delete squad list button. It's all good now, and you can clear all assigned leaders from units with ease.


[h2]Improvements:[/h2]

  • The star of the show this week is the in-battle order update. You can now select a specific unit and give orders to that unit during battles. It's all about giving you more control and making the game even more engaging. We're excited to see how this feature evolves!
  • Here's a personal favorite of mine. We've been building a game inspired by Turkic themes, and in Turkic culture, people often have epithets or nicknames. These epithets come with a backstory and aren't chosen by the individual but by society—your family, friends, and so on. Originally, these epithets were in Turkic, but we've changed them to English for better understanding. It adds a unique flavor to the game!
  • We've made some changes to the zoom-out feature. Now, when you zoom out, you can see symbols representing your units on the battlefield. Or you can zoom in to get a closer look at your units. We're also working on adding animations to the units for an even more immersive experience.
  • Lastly, we've given a little makeover to the tactical unit UI. Before, it was in a circular shape, but now it's a rectangle :).
