  • [p]Added the new Morale Boost system[/p]
    • [p]Characters who did not participate in expeditions have a chance to gain a 2-tiered buff: Ambitious and Enthusiastic

    • [p]Ambitious buff[/p]
      • [p]Obtain a class skill at the start of the expedition[/p]
      • [p]Gain increased combat stats[/p]
    • [p]Enthusiastic buff[/p]
      • [p]Obtain an upgraded class skill at the start of the expedition[/p]
      • [p]Two starting skills are upgraded[/p]
      • [p]Gain increased combat stats[/p]
  • [p]Added the Talent Skill system[/p]
    • [p]Added 2 new Talent passives for each character

    • [p]Talent passives are included in the skill card pool[/p]
  • [p]Added the Blessed Relic system[/p]
    • [p]Relics now have a chance to be given as an upgraded version as Blessed Relics[/p]
    • [p]Blessed Relics provide enhanced effects

    • [p]Relic Exchanger replaces a relic with another random relic[/p]

  • [p]Changed the “Random” encounter to “Chaos” encounter

    • [p]Added relevant new encounter events[/p]
    • [p]“Chaos” encounters are not bound to specific rewards, meaning they could give rewards normally unavailable from Forked Road encounters

      [/p]
    • [p]Blessed version of “Chaos” encounters will give an additional reward based on dice roll[/p]
  • [p]Shortened some combat scenarios by reducing the number of enemies and combat dialogue lines[/p]
  • [p]Reduced text and selection steps for certain encounters, especially when you are seeing them multiple times[/p]
  • [p]Temporary allies now also receive various effects[/p]
    • [p]Altar of Fire upgrades (including Greater Blessing effects) now apply to temporary allies as well[/p]
    • [p]“Wear and Tear” and “Unbalanced Diet” trial effects now apply to temporary allies as well[/p]
  • [p]Unguardable attacks will no longer be guarded even if the enemy unit has a guaranteed Guard chance[/p]
  • [p]Improved audio/visual effects for Greater Blessings (sword, spear, and bow) from the Altar of Fire[/p]
  • [p]Relic encounters now have a chance to grant a piece of the staff relic

  • [p]Combined the “Partnership Points” encounter and the “Blessed Signs” encounter[/p]
    • [p]Rewards have been adjusted accordingly[/p]
  • [p]The Workshop now unlocks alongside Chamber of Trials, instead of after beating a Trial expedition[/p]
    • [p]It is now possible to craft an accessory as soon as you unlock Trials, with the Mana Core given for free[/p]
  • [p]When scrolling through the combat menu, the cursor now cycles in a loop instead of ending at the first/last option

  • [p]Controllers now have dedicated hot keys for “Swap Weapons” and “Wait”/“Defend” commands

[h3]Bug Fixes[/h3]
  • [p]Fixed the issue where the Tree of Life’s interaction icon showed on incorrect tiles, if it was moved by the Behemoth’s "Crashing Ram" skill[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the issue where the "Counterstrike" effects were not properly applied under certain conditions[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the issue where certain non-combat events did not appear[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the issue where the "Blade of Balance" item would get discounted if the "Conspirator's Ring" relic was acquired from the shop; "Blade of Balance" cannot be discounted[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the issue where you could not assign a key for custom "Rotate Battlefield" keybind, if the same key was assigned in a previous attempt that timed out before completing[/p]

Upcoming 1.2 Patch Preview

[p]Tacticians,[/p][p][/p][p]In our last dev log, we noted that we are working on a stronger roguelite experience and shorter expeditions. We have come up with many ideas, and are deploying some of them in our upcoming patch.[/p][p]Based on feedback from players, the following are some of the boosts in the patch that will let you steamroll your enemies more easily![/p][p][/p][h3]1. Blessed Relics[/h3][p]Having the right relic at the right time can make a huge impact. So we added Blessed Relics that provide more powerful effects than their regular versions–and just in case it is not obvious… Some relics lose their penalty in their blessed version![/p][p]\[Look at the holy halo behind those blessed relics!][/p][p][/p][h3]2. Talent Skills[/h3][p]We created 2 Talent skills for each character: [/p]
  • [p]Skill 1: Boosts each character's key attributes[/p]
  • [p]Skill 2: Increases the proc chances for the character's Partnership effect[/p]
[p]These new Talent skills are included as part of the skill card pool as Unique (purple) cards. Now you have even more skills to choose from![/p][p]\[Showing Evie's Talent Skill 2, which grants a much higher chance of triggering additional heals.][/p][p][/p][h3]3. Morale Boost[/h3][p]Roguelites are often more fun with different unit comps and combos. The new Morale Boost system will make trying out different units even more enticing. Units who sit out on previous expeditions will have a chance to gain buffs–it is a 2-tiered buff with powerful effects. Experimenting with different characters has never been more rewarding![/p][p]\[Elena did not enjoy sitting out on action. Now she’s eager to show us what she can do!][/p][p][/p][h3]4. Shortened Events[/h3][p]For a more streamlined experience, we adjusted the number of enemies and dialogue lines in some combat scenarios. This should let you jump in to action quicker![/p][p]On top of that, we reviewed 17 different Forked Road encounters to see how we can simplify things–many of them now have fewer dialogue lines and/or have choices consolidated. This would allow for both shorter events and more meaningful rewards with each choice.[/p][p][/p][p]The upcoming patch also contains other improvements and changes, so please stay tuned for the full patch notes coming soon! As noted at the top, there are also more ideas and content we are working on. You’ll have more to look forward to beyond this patch, and we cannot wait to bring more exciting news to you.[/p][p]

30 Days Since Launch – Reflections and What’s Next

[p]Dear Tacticians, [/p][p][/p][p]It’s hard to believe that it’s already been 30 days since our official release! We want to sincerely thank everyone who has supported us, shared feedback, and joined our growing community. [/p][p]Over the past month, we’ve been experimenting within a unique genre blend — SRPG meets Roguelite — and we’ve learned an incredible amount from all of your feedback. [/p][p] [/p][h3]1. Wrapping Up Our First Phase [/h3][p]With the recent 1.1.8 patch, we’ve concluded our first phase of post-launch updates, which focused primarily on improving the overall gameplay experience. [/p][p]This update included: [/p]

  • [p]Faster permanent progression [/p]
  • [p]Battle balance and difficulty adjustments [/p]
  • [p]Relic and skill adjustments [/p]
  • [p]Optimization and bug fixes [/p]

[p]These changes were driven directly by your feedback, and we deeply appreciate everyone who took the time to share thoughts, bug reports, and gameplay experiences. [/p][p] [/p][h3]2. How the Game Is Doing [/h3][p]While the game isn’t perfect and the Steam review score currently sits slightly below Very Positive, our internal gameplay metrics are very encouraging. [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p] [/p][p][/p][p]Our data shows that players are highly engaged — average playtime is well above genre norms and continues to increase with each week.[/p][p]This tells us that despite some rough edges, the core gameplay loop is resonating and keeping players invested. [/p][p] [/p][h3]3. What Comes Next [/h3][p]As a small team, it’s important for us to sustain development through the game’s revenue and growth potential. [/p][p]The good news is: the numbers and community response give us confidence that we can continue building upon this foundation. [/p][p]Based on your feedback, we’ve identified two key areas we believe are critical to making the game stronger and more replayable: [/p]
  1. [p]Shorter Expeditions (Runs) — to create a tighter, more replayable session loop [/p]
  2. [p]A True Roguelite Experience — creating thrilling synergy moments and dopamine-inducing builds [/p]
[p]We believe focusing on these pillars will significantly enhance both player satisfaction and the game’s long-term potential. [/p][p] [/p][h3]4. Looking Further Ahead [/h3][p]Addressing these areas is only the next step, not the end.
