Surprise! A new, unannounced version is here!

[p]I initially intended to have one final graphic overhaul version in early 2026, but then decided to participate in the Steam Winter Sale, and since I was very close to finishing overhauling the Tinpingia content (Mirina the seamstress who lives with her son, the elfkin jailhouse heist, Queen Teniya etc.) and already finished Angilia's Act 2, I decided to publish this version and continue. So enjoy your return to Tinpingia with new animations, re-renders and sound effects.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]And now to some more news.[/p][p][/p][p]I think I lost contact with another developer-partner. This is a bit early to panic since he last contacted me 5 days ago, but he is aware of today’s launch and hasn't shown any signs of life since then, including some small features he was supposed to push and didn’t. [/p][p][/p][p]Am I some Bermuda Triangle for developers? I hope it’s just a nasty flu. Version 0.15 is here!

[/p][p]As I wrote in the previous posts, this version does not have new characters and plot, instead it’s an overhaul of everything related to Marbia and the Ziruan Oasis quest: Queen Nahir, Alam, Domia, Fahda, and even Arzu (and her goblins). Additionally, I have revisited Oryenguk to re-render a few dozen images. [/p][p]
[/p][p]Therefore, I think the best way to enjoy this update is to start a new playthrough and pay attention to the Oryenguk and Marbia quests. I have also added dozens of special sound effects (water trickling, cups clinking, horses clopping and much more), so I would also recommend playing with the speakers on. [/p][p]

[p]Mason’s Guild: unlocks after conquering five fiefdoms. Building it allows construction projects to complete faster.

Version 0.15 status and some thoughts about the next game.

[/p][p]As I’m starting to wrap version 0.15, I find myself thinking more and more about Vae Victis - 2 (temporary name!) and there are two issues I’d like to consult with you guys about the next game’s design.[/p][p]

[p]Should there be less girls but more content for each girl? In his travels, Karder meets many beautiful girls but most of them have only brief interactions with him and are never seen again. While this allows me to introduce a huge variety of races, body types and backstories, the overall experience can feel a bit unsatisfying to some of you. A frequent question I get almost since launch is “when can we see more of girl X?”. There’s a dilemma here: more girls = shorter interactions with each. Less girls = longer stories, more revisits and even palace stay for some.[/p]

[p]The other issue is about content affecting decisions: should there be slightly more weight to decisions you make? In Vae Victis - Khan, very few decisions you make will give you a completely different outcome later on. A rare example is that if you abuse Alam or Fahda in the Ziruan oasis quest, you will not be able to revisit Fahda later. But in most cases, you will still be able to access all the content no matter how Karder behaved earlier. While this ensures that you will see almost all the content in one playthrough, it does somehow take the weight off some decisions and reduce the incentive to play again. [/p]

[p][/p][p]Since Steam doesn't offer polls for some reason, if you want to weigh in please you the following expressions at the start of your post so it will be easier for me to get a bird's eye impression:[/p][p][/p][p]Less girls, more content for each / More girls, less content for each (i.e. same amount of girls as now, no change).

Add more branches than there are currently in the game, decisions matter more / No branches, no decisions, I want to see as much content as possible in one playthrough.[/p][p][/p][p]If there is any other thing you’d like to see different in the next game, let me know. As for 0.15: I hope to have an ETA for 0.15 next week. I’m also talking to a new developer, so there might be some good news there too.[/p][p]
