Demo Roadmap Update (February)

Fellowship of Apostles, grace and peace to you,

It is with a heavy heart that I announce that due to personal reasons, this project must take a 2-month delay in development. As a solo-developer, when uncontrollable life events happen, they can interrupt the development calendar and this is one of those cases.

The good news is that this project WILL be finished no matter what, as AoT is not only my life dream but also will become my sole source of income down the road. Please understand that this is simply a delay, nothing more, and AoT is far from abandoned.

Thank you all who have supported this game up to this point and I look forward to showcasing more features when development resumes in April.

Video Dev Log #16 | First Look

Video Developer Log #16 has just been uploaded to Youtube. This log focuses on the new Title Screen, Delete/Options/Credit Scenes, the Permadeath option, Loading Screens, and Ancillary Information of the Main Menu. Let us know what you think, enjoy! ;)

  • The Title Screen has been overhauled and now has animated parallax clouds, fog, and a clickable Bug Report button along with social media links.
  • The Load Screen now has the ability to delete saved games instead of having to manually delete through Windows.
  • The Options Menu now has the following options...
    1. Fullscreen - If playing in windowed mode, the size will be saved in your save file so you don't have to resize it every time you want to play
    2. Resolution - Right now AoT only supports 1920x1080 (1080p)
    3. Mouse Hand - Support for both right and left handed mouse and keyboards
    4. Text Speed - Ranging from 1-10 or Instant
    5. Background Music Level - Audio channel for Background Music
    6. Ambient Sound - Audio channel for Ambient Sound
    7. Sound Effects - Audio channel for Sound Effects
    8. Post Processing - God Rays, Bloom, etc...
  • The Credits Screen now has clickable website links.
  • The Loading Screen pre-loads images into cached memory for quick access and smoother gameplay. These also contain random Game Tips during load.
  • The Character Creation Scene gives you an option for Survival Mode (Permadeath) or Easy Mode (Infinite Reloads). Those who choose Survival Mode get a special SM banner on their Load graphic.
  • The Main Menu now contains ancillary information such as your Copper amount, Food, Water, and Drink, Daily Expenses, etc... It also has a new Celestial Sun/Moon wheel that turns as time progresses.

Demo Roadmap Announcement

After 2 1/2 years of development, we are proud to announce that we're on the home stretch to a Demo release! Below contains a list of action items in chronological order that must be completed before the Demo can be released to the public. During that time, we will be updating the Roadmap Scroll check boxes as we complete each task.

Around the months of April/May of 2025, look for a Closed Public - Beta Testing sign up announcement where you can be one of the few to test the Demo before its release and get your name in the final game credits. ;)

Video Dev Log #15 | Weapons Overhaul

Video Developer Log #15 has just been uploaded to Youtube. This log focuses on weapons and their innate status effects. Each weapon type specializes in a certain aspect of combat allowing for greater flexibility and customization. Let us know what you think, enjoy! ;)

  • With 42 base weapon types, Age of Tribulation now boasts 600 different weapons or weapon variants.
  • Each weapon has a quality type of either Common, Fine, Superior, or Master, and can also be blessed for further metaphysical bonuses.
  • Each weapon does one of three different damage types; Crushing, Piercing, or Slashing.
  • Nearly every weapon has an innate status effect causing either Concussions, Punctures, or Lacerations.
  • One-Handed weapons allow for a second item to be equipped in the Off-Hand (Shields or Charms), whereas Two-Handed weapons typically cause greater damage and have innate Blocking, Counter-Attacking, or both. Dual-Wielding weapons allow for 2 attacks per round and are calculated individually.
  • Status Effects now stack with each other so long as they do not come from the same weapon type or character. When a Status Effect is struck while one is already in effect from the same source, the remaining rounds are reset to the original time length, but no further effects are applied.

Video Dev Log #14 | Armor Overhaul

Video Developer Log #14 has just been uploaded to Youtube. This log focuses on armor and their corresponding set bonuses. These bonuses will allow for a great amount of character customization along with other armor pieces that aren't part of the armor set. Let us know what you think, enjoy! ;)

  • We have reached 330 individual unique armor pieces utilizing all 12 equipment slots.
  • All armor sets are made up of one of three material types; cloth, leather/hide, and plate (alloy).
  • Each armor set has a quality type of either Common, Fine, Superior, or Master. Each unique armor set bonus is enhanced based on the quality type.
  • Once an armor set of the same quality type is completed, the player needs to find a tailor for a custom fitting granting the armor set bonus. If any of the armor pieces in the set are removed or changed, the player will lose the bonus until they can get it retailored again.
  • Age of Tribulation now features rings, necklaces, and the all-new Full Plate Armor set.
  • Each set of armor specializes in a certain aspect of combat - some granting high protection values against certain damage types like piercing or slashing, while others enhance the wearer's ability for critical strikes or supernatural gifts. Every armor set functions uniquely.
  • The 12 Armor Sets are as follows...
    1. Serf Set [Cloth - Common]
    2. Commoner Set [Cloth - Common]
    3. Pilgrim Set [Cloth - Common, Fine, Superior, Master]
    4. Scribe Set [Cloth - Common, Fine, Superior, Master]
    5. Philosopher Set [Cloth - Common, Fine, Superior, Master]
    6. Padded Set [Leather - Common, Fine, Superior, Master]
    7. Leather Set [Leather - Common, Fine, Superior, Master]
    8. Hide Set [Leather - Common, Fine, Superior, Master]
    9. Brigadine Set [Plate - Common, Fine, Superior, Master]
    10. Chainmail Set [Plate - Common, Fine, Superior, Master]
    11. Half-Plate Set [Plate - Common, Fine, Superior, Master]
    12. Full-Plate Set [Plate - Common, Fine, Superior, Master]
