[p][/p][p]Dear city-builder & co-op games community![/p][p]We’ve prepared a small update for our game demo! It’s just a minor patch, but it fixes some important issues you’ve reported – thanks a lot for all the feedback![/p][p][/p][p]Changes & Fixes ✅[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Fixed the progress bar in the research station after loading a save.[/p]
  • [p]The timer in the research station now correctly counts time when discovering new tech.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where, after opening the settings window multiple times, UI elements started overlapping.[/p]
  • [p]Improved canceling range movement on builds in the shipping version.[/p]
  • [p]Changed the map name shown in Steam Rich Presence from “Test_wojtek_2” to the correct one.[/p]
  • [p]The timer in the totem now correctly counts time during rituals.[/p]
  • [p]Prevented moving people into buildings that already hit their population cap — before, there was no limit, and players could cause overpopulation (e.g., stuffing everyone into one hut). Also fixed ritual breakage caused by overpopulation during the ritual.[/p]
  • [p]You can no longer select an overcrowded hut in the totem — and if a building is overcrowded, the population number will now display in red.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the priest’s animation and staff position in the totem.[/p]
  • [p]Disabled switching to the test map.[/p]
  • [p]Changed the keys for increasing and decreasing the custom range in buildings.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed occasional floating objects above workers after they were dismissed.[/p]

Improved demo has just landed!

We've just released an improved demo based on your feedback so far! This update includes the changes detailed below, which we've been gradually implementing. Check out the changelog below and have the most fun with the updated demo of The Whims of the Gods! [/p][p][/p][p]Changes & Fixes ✅[/p][p][/p]
  • [p] Added a confirmation window when exiting to the menu or quitting the game, asking if the player wants to save the game. It also shows the time of the last save.[/p]
  • [p] Fixed a visual bug where game speed was accelerated, but the button still showed the normal speed state.[/p]
  • [p] In the demo version, the stockpile is now editable by the second player by default.[/p]
  • [p] The "Allow edit by second player" button for buildings now correctly changes to the selected state and lights up — previously, it wasn’t visibly selected.[/p]
  • [p] The pause icon in the building’s bottom toolbar is now centered properly.[/p]
  • [p] Fixed a hover tooltip with the resource name staying visible after selecting it from the factory swap panel.[/p]
  • [p] Adjusted click-through behavior on worker and animal widgets.[/p]
  • [p] Fixed a stuck worker in the drying house — previously, if they were returning with resources and the required resource changed, they dropped the box and went idle.[/p]
  • [p] Boxes that spawn on top of buildings are now automatically teleported to the spawn point. Previously, only buildings spawning on boxes handled this properly.[/p]
  • [p] Fixed villagers not being reassigned to houses after a ritual, in cases where a farm existed.[/p]
  • [p] Disabled the pink player icon in ritual outcome if playing in single-player mode.[/p]
  • [p] Fixed the woodcutter freezing if the building was paused during tree cutting.[/p]
  • [p] Fixed capacity handling in the furnace — now it's possible to take away excess (> capacity) resources needed elsewhere.[/p]
  • [p] Fixed swap panel in the furnace — previously, it was possible to deselect all resources and have an empty list.[/p]
  • [p] Fixed bug where, after every burning cycle, the receiver was being reconnected to the furnace.[/p]
  • [p] Fixed issue preventing the energy panel from being reconnected to the receiver.[/p]
  • [p] Corrected map name and difficulty level display in save files.

[p]Known Issues (we’re working on it!): 🛠️[/p][p] [/p]
  • [p] If the shrine cutscene plays during the tutorial, the tutorial can't be continued.[/p]
  • [p] When changing production in the butcher's, animals can spawn inside the building.[/p]
  • [p] Changing the range of a collector’s building cannot be cancelled using right-click (workaround: always change range directly, cancellation doesn’t work).[/p]
  • [p] Villagers may get stuck delivering resources to a construction site if the save was made while they were picking something up (e.g., from a Foraging Camp).

The Whims of the Gods Demo Arrives June 9 During Steam Next Fest!



We’re excited to announce that The Whims of the Gods will be part of Steam’s Next Fest starting Monday, June 9th! The public demo will be available from June 9 at 12 PM CST | 10 AM PST | 1 PM EST until June 16, and we can’t wait for you to experience a slice of what we’ve been building. You’ll get a hands-on feel for city-building, resource management, technological progression, co-op gameplay, survival systems, and early divine interactions. It’s designed to give you a strong first impression of the systems and gameplay depth we're working toward.

Today is a special day in Poland, and we celebrate a significant historical moment. Back in 1791, the Four-Year Court adopted a constitution that brought major changes to the country's political and social systems.
