Unwell 20th update!



Unwell Demo received its 20th update on Steam!

Breakdown of the key changes in the updated version:

CONTENT

  • Your lantern now warns you when it gets hungry. Its light also depends on the amount of oil left in it.
  • The environment is now a little brighter.
  • Some minor model and texture changes.


TWEAKS/FIXES

  • Made changes to bridge models to prevent walking outside the rails.
  • The statue in level 2 is more exposed and provides better hints on what to do.
  • Numerous out-of-bounds fixes.
  • Monsters in level 2 had their logic fixed to reduce getting stuck in various places.
  • Optimization changes implemented.
  • Protagonist movement received enhancements, reducing instances of getting stuck.
  • Field of view received a significant update.


What's next?

  • We are currently rewriting controls regarding player movement to make it easier to operate the protagonist while descending into the well.
  • Implementation of the final riddles in level 3, soon to be available in the demo!
  • FMOD engine has been implemented into the project, and now all sounds are being reworked in the new environment, soon to be heard in the demo.
  • Further optimizations!

Hello fellow well-dwellers! Let’s kick off this May long weekend with a sizzle! 🍔🔥 Grab your favorite brew, fire up the grill, and get ready to dive into some serious gaming vibes. At Anaesthetic Studio, we’re cooking up something special with ‘Unwell’. Although we don’t have any updates this Friday, we’ve emerged from the depths of the well to wish you a good rest. Stay tuned for an adventure like no other!

Anaesthetic Anniversary Party + Unwell 19th Update :)

Hello, fellow well dwellers!



The Anaesthetic team celebrated its anniversary on 25.04 at Cybermachina Wroclaw game pub, co-organized with Korbank! We had a great time with people testing Unwell, engaging in productive conversations, and enjoying our very own drinks prepared by skilled bartenders :)

We gained plenty of insight from our testers and are preparing changes to the Unwell world accordingly!

In the meantime, we've prepared a couple of hot fixes for the demo of Unwell :)

TWEAKS/FIXES:

Resolved issue with being stuck in the falling animation in some cases.

Resolved some out-of-bounds issues.

Optimized dodge mechanic.

Made entry to level 2 more accessible.

Enhanced durability of adversaries in level 2 (you're welcome!).

Addressed incorrect quickslot numbering in the inventory - we've reworked the logic behind it, but it still needs more refinement ;)

Updated descriptions of some objects, revealing a bit more of the game's lore.

More changes to item icons.

Unwell 18th update!


Unwell Demo received its 18th update on Steam!

Breakdown of the key changes in the updated version:

CONTENT

  • The "not so friendly" well dweller in level 2 GOT A FULL rework! That includes our own model, enhanced logic, and more animations! All of these should give a better picture of what the lore of the monster is.
  • Most of the item icons got a full rework to match the feel of the game!



TWEAKS/FIXES

  • Resolved a major bug of the protagonist falling in a loop while landing.
  • Made some tweaks to the hitboxes of weapons.
  • More performance tweaks, to make the game less resource-consuming!
  • Resolved some minor bugs.


What's next?

We managed to implement FMOD into the Unwell project!



Our Otolaryngologists are working hard to change all of the sounds in the game, and soon you will be able to experience way higher quality of the sounds in the well.

Soon there will also be another adversary to encounter in the well... one that is very keen on hugging

Anaesthetic studio first anniversary!

Anaesthetic studio is celebrating its first formal anniversary! We've come a long way and achieved many successes, as well as learned a lot in this past year. Thanks to our previous experiences and the support of our partners, the Anaesthetic Team is growing stronger and gaining momentum in creating its debut - an isometric survival horror called Unwell.
Therefore, together with Korbank and Cybermachina, we are organizing an event for you where we will share stories of our adventures in game development, our successes, lessons learned, and of course, the results of our work. Come, test Unwell, and influence its further development! We take every constructive feedback seriously, and implement most suggestions into our work.
