2025 Season 2 Patch 3 Release

2025 Season 2 Patch 3 Release Notes [2024.04.02.02]

 • This Patch Release contains updates and fixes for the 2025 Season 2 Release.
 • This Patch Release also includes the new feature, Adaptive AI Racing for Single AI Sessions!

Simulation

AI Racing
 • Adaptive AI is now available for Single AI Sessions!
 • - - Adaptive AI is an all new system that provides each iRacer an AI Racing experience that's tuned to their individual preferences and desired level of challenge. Rather than tuning difficulty percentages, with Adaptive AI users choose whether they are looking for a Low, Medium, or High level of challenge. This experience is dynamic and tuned to each iRacer, so one racer's Low might be another racer's Medium. While Adaptive AI is built for iRacers of all abilities, it does have a sweet spot and it's possible that some of our fastest racers might exceed the pace that the system can provide. As with all iRacing systems, Adaptive AI will continue to evolve and improve as we collect and incorporate iRacer feedback.
 • - - Adaptive AI will make its debut in Single Race, with a follow-up planned for Hosted iRacing and AI Seasons at a later date.
 • AI Drivers have improved their racing lines at USA International Speedway.
 • AI Drivers have improved their racing skills with the NASCAR Truck Series Class Trucks.

Physics
 • The physics processing for collisions involving opponent vehicles has been updated for improved accuracy.
 • - - Opponent cars now automatically update their physics processing frequency to a much higher rate any time they detect they are in close proximity to any object, or whenever a collision occurs.
 • - - - - This alleviates an issue where opponent vehicles could sometimes appear to snag on walls, climb up objects, or trigger other visual oddities.
 • - - Torque scaling applied during impacts to wheels has also been adjusted. Opponent vehicles now behave much more realistically when striking walls with their wheels.

Dynamic Track Model
 • Updated the appearance of dynamic track debris within the space tangential to the track surface.
 • Fixed an issue with normal mapping of track debris, making their visible bumpiness more correct.

Graphics
 • Lighting exposure intensity for when the sun is within 15 degrees of the horizon has been reduced.
 • Improved the brightness of pit entry/exit lights and caution lights, especially at sunset.
 • Improved brightness in foggy, rainy, and overcast conditions.
 • The lighting gradient at the horizon line has been improved.
 • Improved the appearance of fog over terrain surfaces and in mirrors.
 • Improved MSAA processing for foggy conditions.

Spotter/Crew Chief
 • For Autofuel, fixed an issue where fuel usage data could sometimes become invalid between sessions. Additionally, if invalid fuel data leaks into the autofuel system, it will now be discarded and the system will be reset instead of corrupting future data.
 • Some Foreign Language Spotter Packs have been updated.

User Interface
 • Fixed an issue where the training Race Line was always white, instead of color-coded to indicate braking and acceleration zones.

Cars

ARCA 2025 Series
 • For custom paints, a headlight has been moved to the decal layer, so custom paints may once again stamp numbers over them.
 • For the damage model, friction parameters have been increased on the tire and rim sidewalls to prevent any benefits from wall-riding.

BMW M2 CSR
 • Fixed an error where the left-front tire change always required an additional 5 seconds. This tire changer has been re-assigned to a new job more befitting his talents.

2025 Season 2

2025 Season 2 Release [2024.03.10.03]

The iRacing 2025 Season 2 Release Build has rolled up to the starting line! This release has new content, features, improvements, and fixes for 2025 Season 2, which officially starts on March 18th at 0000 UTC! The iRacing vehicle garage expands with three new bays for three brand new ARCA Series racecars: ARCA Chevrolet SS, ARCA Ford Mustang, and ARCA Toyota Camry. The Legends Ford '34 Coupe has received a stem-to-stern performance and physics overhaul, with a few art updates and all-new audio for good measure. The iRacing landscape also grows with the addition of Portland International Raceway. The Track Art Team has also completed multiple full art overhauls of SEVEN classic NASCAR tracks including: Bristol Motor Speedway, Darlington Raceway, Dover Motor Speedway, Homestead Miami Speedway, Iowa Speedway, Kansas Speedway, and Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

We are excited to launch the Official Series Redesign, which transforms the way you can browse, learn about, and join Official Series within iRacing - the new full-page layout provides more space and more info than ever before. A new Connectivity Black Flag system has been implemented, which will place participants with connections that are detrimental to others in a type of time-out until their connection quality reaches a satisfactory level. The track debris refresh system has been expanded with the addition of informative local course debris caution flags. The new Adaptive AI Difficulty system is almost ready to debut with this initial release, but we have decided it needs a bit more time in the oven to get extra crispy. With this system, AI Drivers' racing skill will automatically adjust during the event based on the driver's lap times to keep the racing exciting. This feature will be released during a 2025 Season 2 Patch.

Our vehicle engineers have completed work on updates to the GTP Class Cars and the LMP2 tires, providing substantial improvements to the changes from 2025 Season 1, ultimately resulting in greater realism. The Ray FF1600 has received an improved suspension geometry model, which improves accuracy across all four contact points and will be the pioneer for changes to other vehicles to come. Six additional tracks have been updated with the 3D modeled curb system (with more coming soon), making the racing experiences there more real-to-life than ever. The entire iRacing Simulator has also received significant lighting updates that transform the appearance of cars and tracks.

The Legends Ford '34 Coupe has been updated to be water-ready and may now equip rain tires. The updates to this car have been so substantial this season that the Legends Ford '34 Coupe - Rookie car is being retired. AI Drivers have received updates for a variety of rain racing tracks and have adapted to the updated NASCAR tracks that now feature SAFER barriers. The Dallara iR-01 and seven new track configs, including Portland International Raceway, are AI-racing ready. Finally, our vehicle dynamics team has recalibrated hundreds of vehicle setups to take advantage of the gamut of changes to all cars included in this release. 2025 Season 1 Vehicle Telemetry Update [2025.02.18.01]

2025 Season 1 Vehicle Telemetry Update [2025.02.18.01]

This is a Vehicle Telemetry Update, containing a new anonymized race data telemetry collection system.
iRacing

Anonymized Telemetry Data:
• iRacing has implemented an additional, anonymized telemetry system that we will be using to power future improvements and features for the iRacing Simulation.
 • - This additional telemetry system is separate and distinct from the current telemetry used by Atlas, Motec and other 3rd party applications. No changes are required for 3rd parties using the existing telemetry system as it is not changing.
 • Race data telemetry is generated automatically while drivers are participating in select Official Series. Series with vehicle data telemetry collection enabled will be identified. After a driver exits the Session, the telemetry data they generated will be automatically, and securely, collected by iRacing.
 • Members may opt-out of participating in the vehicle telemetry data collection process if they wish, and telemetry data is only collected from participants with the user preference enabled who participate in specific Official Series, which will be identified.
 • - Members may opt-out by selecting to do so on the Settings > Preferences page.
 • This system will be enabled in select Official Series, beginning with a new Week 11 Series: iTested Series
 • - We encourage participation and entrants will be awarded the seldom-offered “iTested!” Award for participating!
