DevLog: Engine Upgrade & Looking Ahead
[p]The development of SubwaySim 2 continues at full speed, and this time we have a particularly exciting technical update to share.[/p][p]We have successfully upgraded the game from Unreal Engine 5.4.4 to Unreal Engine 5.7.3. This means SubwaySim 2 is now once again fully up to date on the engine side. This upgrade was a deliberate step to ensure the technical foundation of the game remains stable and future-proof in the long term.[/p][p][/p][p]
[/p][p]With new engine versions naturally come some changes behind the scenes. During the transition we had to make several adjustments to the Lumen lighting system, as some workflows and settings have evolved in the newer engine versions. We used this opportunity to recalibrate the lighting and align it with the latest engine technology. At the same time, we were able to further optimize certain areas, which resulted in a small overall improvement in performance.[/p][p]Overall, SubwaySim 2 is now technically well prepared for the coming years and provides a solid foundation for many more updates and new content.[/p][p][/p][p]
[/p][p]The upcoming version is also approaching its internal testing phase, preparing everything for Update 10.[/p][p]Even though there have been fewer DevLogs recently, development behind the scenes continues at high speed.[/p]

About SubwaySim 2
[p][/p][p]SubwaySim 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
