Test Branch Update – Major QoL Improvements and Minor Reworks

[p]Hey everyone![/p][p][/p][p]Guess who’s back with a new “Beta” Build! :p  [/p][p][/p][p]High Level info about this test branch: [/p]
  • [p]Content is almost final, meaning that you’ll see everything that’s up to come in this update, apart from a few details. [/p]
  • [p]Localization should be complete, so please don’t hesitate to bug it if you see missing / wrong stuff. [/p]
  • [p]Bugs will be there, and any reports will be really helpful! [/p]
  • [p]AS ALWAYS WITH “BETA” Builds, we recommend keeping a copy of your saves on the side just to make sure they are safe.  [/p]
[p] [/p][p]Like previously, we will be using the “publictestversion” branch on Steam. Sooooo... What’s up?! [/p][p][/p][h3]New Feature – Arsenal [/h3]
  • [p]After unlocking a certain number of items (Weapons, Tools and Medallions) you’ll unlock the associated Arsenal, allowing you to ban items from the “Loot Table” meaning that they won’t appear during you runs. [/p]
[p]You don’t like a certain weapon? Just ban it! You hate the Saw? Just ban it?  ...   [/p][p][/p][h3]New Feature – Tutorials Compendium [/h3][p]We’ve implemented a quick menu in the Pause Menu that will allow you to revisit the tutorials you already had (in case you forgot something), but also find some more information our features. 
[/p][h3]New Feature – Story Objectives [/h3]
  • [p]In order to help players remembering what they should be looking for to progress in the story (and therefore unlock content) we’ve added the Story Objectives that are High Level objectives based on what you already know. [/p]
  • [p]These objectives will appear in the Mind Map and during loadings. [/p]
  • [p]Don’t hesitate to share your thoughts and especially about their presence, like are they clear enough? Too present? Would like to toggle them off?

[h3]New Feature – Legends (for Mini Map and World Map) [/h3]
  • [p]The Mini and World Map start to have quite the amount of information and icons in there and it can be difficult to remember what is what. [/p]
  • [p]To help with that we’ve added legends in both maps that can be toggled on and off.  [/p]
  • [p]Again, if you feel like some stuff aren’t clear or it’s missing some information, feel free to share!

[h3]Rework of Some Awakening Stones[/h3]
  • [p]Quick rework of some stones and add new ones especially around Death Defiance. 
     [/p]
[h3]Book of HeadContent Rework[/h3]
  • [p]Added missing quests [/p]
  • [p]Rework of all weapons and tools specific quests. We’ve heard your feedback about those ones, and we agree, so we changed them. 😊 [/p]
  • [p]Reworked bosses last quests to not be hitless, this is now specific to the achievement. [/p]
  • [p]Reduced overall values of quest requirement [/p]
  • [p]Increased rewards

[h3]Recycle[/h3]
  • [p]Rework rewards (balancing) and legibility. Also ongoing. Needs some tweaking with localization and to integrate the KBM sprite sheet.    [/p][p][/p]
[h3]Medallions[/h3]
  • [p]Medallions are no longer destroyed! If you’re already full and want to pick-up a new one, the one it’ll replace will fall on the ground so you can recycle it (or let it be, that’s your choice after all)  [/p][p][/p]
[h3]Balancing[/h3]
  • [p]Quick balancing pass (still ongoing), boss included. 
       [/p]
[h3]Optimization[/h3]
  • [p]A never-ending work to improve the game’s performances...   [/p][p][/p]

  • [p]Localization is still ongoing so you might see quite some words in English or localization keys.  [/p][p][/p]
[p]There are also quite a few little bugs here and there. We will be focusing on cleaning as much as possible in the following weeks while waiting for your precious feedback! :D

[h3]How to access the test branch and where to leave feedback[/h3]
FIRST: BACKUP YOUR SAVE DATA

We recommend to do this just in case the worst happens. So to backup your save file, go to where you have your Steam folder installed, then follow this path:

Steam folder -> userdata folder -> your user id folder (if you have multiple steam accounts you'll need to find the right one) -> 2717880 folder -> remote folder -> copy the file called 'global' and stick it somewhere safe on your computer.

Mine looks like this, but your user id folder with have a different number of course!


If you still want to get stuck in, here's what to do:

Go to The Rogue Prince of Persia in your Steam Library -> click on the gear icon on the far right.


Click on Properties and a pop-up box will appear.


Click on Betas.


Opposite where it says 'Beta Participation', click on the dropdown menu where it says 'None' and select 'publictestversion'.

Update the game and you're good to go!

To change back to the standard game, just go back into the betas section, click on the same dropdown menu (it will now say publictestversion) then select 'None' and update the game.

[p]Hello everyone,[/p][p][/p][p]Yes that's right, 1.0 is fast approaching so our Early Access journey with you will soon be over. We'll get all emotional on the day, but let's just say for now that we are very very grateful for everyone who supported us through this crazy intense Early Access, in which the game has evolved so much!

  • Fixed camera sometimes not resetting when loading a biome,

  • Fixed a looter room in Aqueduct that could cause rewards to drop on the roof,
  • Fixed an issue with Cinders counter,
  • Fixed Mithra's light sometimes not displaying properly on doors,

Medallions & Looters Rework
It’s been a long time since we tweaked / reworked our medallion design it was about time that we put our hands in there!
We reworked ALL medallions and looters
  • Design of all the medallions has been reworked.
  • You now have 4 categories:
    • Common Medallions: Work in pairs (right & left), each medallion has a bonus, but having both parts equipped will boost the bonus of each. Their bonuses are focused on flat stats improvements, such as damage, or defense.
    • Rare Medallions: Those unique medallions bring additional effects to your attacks and movements. Use them to shape your builds wisely.
    • Legendary Medallions: Like the previous ones, they have unique attributes but a scale that can be completely game changer for your build.
    • Corrupted Medallions: You know the drill. Great bonuses and effects, but with a counterpart.
  • Looters have been reworked too
    • Blood Altar is now a “gambling machine” where you pay with your max health to get items. Each time you use it repeatedly, the more chances you have to get greater loot!
    • Medallion Altar is also a “gambling machine”, but you pay with gold. And of course, the more you use it, the more chances you have to get great loot.
    • Boss Looters have been removed.
    • The “Weapon Looter” has been moved to the beginning of each biome and is now more of a “Start Looter” giving you lots of gold, lots of Soul Cinders, max health or a Medallion Slot.
    • Astara is back at improving weapons, up to 2 times.
    • Shops' loot has been adjusted too.
    • Removed gold reward and cost scaling across biomes. Gold value should be more consistent and relevant now.
    • The overall balancing has been tweaked to follow all these modifications. (Your feedback is more than welcome on that part!)
  • Skills have been adjusted accordingly.
  • Added medallions view in HUD that reacts with their activation and state.
Tools
  • 3 new tools have been added:
    • Blowgun
    • Fire Vial
    • Bladed Cyclone
I won’t say more and let you test them.
Gonna need to unlock them first though.

  • We’ve also reworked how the Saw works. Now it drops a Saw Trap that goes back and forth. AND! It doesn't hurt you anymore! :D


Traversal Polish
  • We worked on improving the overall Traversal smoothness, trying to reduce the stickiness.
  • Dash, Jump and Kick animations have been reworked, and variations have been added.


Optimization
  • Loadings should now be way smoother and shorter, avoiding spikes.
  • Overall performances should be better too.
  • Screen resolutions are now unlocked!
    • The list available in the option is now based on the resolutions supported by your monitor.
