Major Update 0.2.0

Patch 0.2.0 is available! Check out the most important improvements

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
Added four difficulty modes.
Note that the difficulty you choose is active until the end of the run and cannot be changed during the playthrough.

Easy
Battles can be replayed. Your hand changes every time you replay a battle. Start your journey with the Honey Agate relic, which grants Strength x1 and Fortitude x1.

Normal
Battles can be replayed. Your hand does not change when you replay a battle.

Hard
Battles cannot be replayed.

Heroic
Battles cannot be replayed. There are no saves. If you quit, the journey ends in defeat and you receive no reward.

And now for the most important news: Vasilisa the sorceress has left the open beta and appeared in the main release!
Vasilisa can summon faithful little helpers called Nursemaids to aid her in battle, but even without them, she’s definitely no slouch.
Additionally, Vasilisa might seem very challenging right now. Please feel free to write feedback about playing as Vasilisa — we are keenly listening to your feedback. Just keep in mind that in order to unlock Vasilisa, you need to play at least one battle as Varvara.

Some of Varvara’s cards have also been rebalanced:
1. Redesigned the Value of Time card
It now grants 1 Armor (3 when upgraded) and Value of Time x2. The card costs 1 AP (both regular and upgraded).
The Value of Time effect grants 1 AP every time you receive a card into your hand. Its stacks are now carried over to the next turn and are only consumed once the effect is triggered.
2. Adjusted the Dizzy status effect so it damages the foe before their turn, taking Armor into account
Foes now become Dizzy upon gaining Perplexed.
 • The Dizzy skill is now Uncommon. It inflicts Dizzy x2 on the nearest foe and costs 1 AP (0 when upgraded).
 • The Torment skill is now Rare. It inflicts Dizzy x2 on all foes.
 • The Vulnerable skill now inflicts Vulnerable x2 (x3 when upgraded).
 • The Hiding boon now inflicts Dizzy x1 when a base Attack card is played. It costs 2 AP (1 when upgraded).
 • The Rejoice skill is now forgotten after being played.
 • The Initiative attack is now a Starter.
 • The Bestowal skill is now Rare.
 • The Adept boon now decreases the AP cost of 1 random card in the player’s hand (2 when upgraded) and costs 2 AP (both regular and upgraded).

Developer Diary, Part 1: Development, Balance, and Vasilisa the Wise

In this part of the diary, we will talk about how the first month after the game's Early Access release went and show some upcoming changes.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

In the comments, you can ask questions about the game, and we will answer the most interesting ones in the next issue.

New Week, New Beta: Achievements and Difficulty Modes

The most curious players can expect a huge update in the beta!

You’ve been asking for Steam achievements, and we’ve heard you loud and clear. Have fun unlocking the 20 new achievements, with more to come!
Added four difficulty modes.
Note that the difficulty you choose is active until the end of the run and cannot be changed during the playthrough.
On Easy mode, the deck and cards gained via relics, consumables, or other cards are shuffled with each replay.
The player receives the Honey Agate relic at the start of the playthrough. It grants Strength x1 and Fortitude x1.
On Normal difficulty, you will not notice any changes from the current difficulty as they are identical.
On Hard mode, everything remains the same, but you can no longer replay battles. A defeat ends the run.
On Heroic (a.k.a. Roguelike) mode, you’ll have to complete the run in one go without replaying any battles or quitting to the main menu. If you quit the game, the run ends.
New Hero
Vasilisa the sorceress descends upon the open beta at last!
