Card Unlocks Update & Looking Ahead

This update is a mix of demo content and progress on the game's full version. Take a peek at what's coming in the full release—or find out why it's worth revisiting the demo.
Card Unlocks (part of the demo)
Some familiar cards are now part of a new unlock system — giving seasoned players something fresh to chase, and newcomers a smoother learning curve. Each locked card has its own unique requirement, turning unlocking them into a game of its own. Head to the Collections menu to track your progress and see what it takes to unlock them all.
New Yellow Runes (part of the demo)
• Savagery: Sets the selected Support die face to a random symbol face from its die type (if any).
New Sphinx Runes (part of the demo)
• Perch: Makes a random card Windborn, destroys all other cards.
• Magnificence: Sets the selected Support die face to the highest numeric face among your dice.
• Reactivity: When the die rolls on this face, trigger it.
• Ascension: All your Attacks and Abilities gain 1 level.
• Pandemonium: Applies Random Roll to all faces of the selected Support die.
• Recast: Select 2 dice, the left die becomes a copy of the right die, -5 Max HP.
New Character: Yohlon (not part of the demo)
We're done implementing Yohlon, the Turtle Clan's master ranger, a hardened scout who thrives in exploring the ever-shifting desert.

Yohlon won't be part of the demo, but here's a look at his attacks and skills.
• Quick Shot: Strikes 2 random enemies.
• Barrage: Strikes 2 random enemies (Level up: Strikes 1 more enemy every 2 levels).
• Opening Shot: Strikes 2 random enemies. On the first turn, grants double Tak and Ni.
• Poisonous Arrow: Strikes 2 random enemies. If available, consumes all Rerolls and applies Poison stacks equal to Power with the first strike.
• Speed Runner: +10 Tak for each visited scenario.
• Dodge: Gain 1 stack of Dodge, set this face to Smooth Landing.
• Smooth Landing: Set this face to Dodge.

• Ranger Bounty: Applies n (level) stacks of Ranger Bounty to a random enemy.
• Aim: Applies Aimed to the target enemy. Unlockable Content and a Peek Behind the Curtain
• Aimed: Your attacks will prioritize this target for this turn.
• Wanderer's Quiver Mastery: Find Canyons, Caverns, Ruins more often.
• Pathfinding: Shadow King: When set, the next scenarios will include a Shadow King.
• Finders Keepers: If in Desert: +10 Tak. If in Canyons: add 4 gold. If in Caverns: add a random yellow rune.
• Pathfinding: Lost Sphinx Vase: When set, the next scenarios will include a Lost Sphinx Vase.
• Pathfinding: Lost Signet: When set, the next scenarios will include a Lost Signet.
New Biome: Caverns (not part of the demo)
We have been working on a new biome, the caverns. Like the canyons, it's a 3-battles-in-a-row area with a special reward on completion. As expected, it has its own mobs and bosses! This will not be included in the demo for the foreseeable future.
Miscellaneous Changes
• Enemies that inflict bleeding or poison on attack will now display so next to their damage intent.
• Cards and dice that were previously emitting a "!" on trigger now emit the specific amount of Tak or Ni they provide.
• The order of triggering of dice in some complex cases has been adjusted.
• As usual, some work has gone into better balancing cards and ice.

The Kagu update

News

We're excited to bring you a new character, new content, and card editions that add some side effects to cards.
New Character
Kagu is the venerable shaman of the Crab Clan, he who yells at clouds for thunderous effects. Kagu has a single attack, Thunder, which acts as an axis around which his other abilities are built around. Be it increasing the number of thunder strikes, or mantras that permanently use up an ability slot to set an edition to a random card.
Card Editions
A card edition adds an extra effect to a card. Any character can find cards with editions at the merchant or in vases, and any card can have an edition.
• Ethereal: Doesn't occupy a card slot.
• Earthen: +1 Armor each turn.
• Sunborn: +3 gold on battle end.
• Windborn: Attacks strike one additional time.
• Veiled: On battle start, the next Prayer costs 2 less.
• Ni Infused: +5 Ni.
• Tak Infused: +25 Tak.
• Serpentine: Adds a free reroll to merchants.
New Cards:
• Return to Nature: Gains x Ni when rerolling a symbol face, resets to 1 on battle end (Currently: x).
• Mounting Frenzy: n in m chance of gaining x Ni at the end of the battle (Currently: x).
• Laughing Relics: Gains x Ni when discarding an Uncommon or Rare card (Currently: x).
• Golden Zenith: Earn 3 gold whenever the highest numeric face is triggered (HighestNumericFace).
• Rank Climber: At the end of the battle, earn gold equal to the highest level of any symbol face among your dice (HighestLevelSymbolFace).
• Dark Ritual: When discarded, removes 1 stacks from Djinn's Favor.
New Prayers
• Ummia: Your Mastery gains 1 level.
• Conjure Card: Adds a random Uncommon card (must have room).
New Dice/Die Faces:
Playtest 7.0

News

This playtest introduces new cards, new dice, and the concept of level for a die face. Red runes are used to level up said faces.
Cards, dice, and runes no longer give Power directly, but provide either Tak or Ni. These are then multiplied to obtain power.

New Content
New Cards:
• Ammonite's Avarice: When visiting a merchant, find a free Golden Roll Rune.
• Blessed Earring: Adds Ni equal to water.
• Rolling Vases: Rerolls at the merchant affect vases.
• Suspect Relic: If it's the bottom card on turn 1, disables the first die for 5 turns and levels up its face.
• Spare Talon: Increases the value of each triggered numerical face by 3.
• Old Boomerangs: +40 Tak on first turn.
• Mechanical Eye: 1 in 4 chance to level up a face on trigger (when applicable).
• Raging Bull: Gains 1 Ni every turn. Resets to 0 on battle end (currently x Ni).
• Apply Bandages: +10 Max HP, 1 less reroll on first turn.
• Arithmirage: Numeric faces also count as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
• Clan Mandate: Red Vases always hold at least a rune to level up a face on a die you own.
New Dice/Die Faces:
• Die of Ni: Increases Ni by the face's value. If a numeric face is triggered, its value is set to 0.
• Avarice Die: Grants an Ammonite's Avarice card. The card is discarded if this die is removed.
• Inner Tak: Increases base Tak by 5. On level up, this value increases by 5.
• Inner Ni: Increases base Ni by 1. On level up, this value increases by 1.
• The Monkey: Disables the support die on the right. If successful, triggers the support die on the left.
• Chain: The support die to the left doesn't reroll on the next turn start.
• Random Card: Grants a card (if there's room). Applies Avoidance to this face.
• The Shadow King: On trigger, consumes the top card if compatible. This face will not trigger anymore, acting as the consumed card when visible.
• The Merchant: Converts 10% of Tak into Ni. On level up, this value increases by 2%.
• The Chiseler: +5 to the numerical face of the first eligible die on the right. On level up, this value increases by 4.
• The Snake: Applies 2x stacks of Poison equal to Tak to a random enemy. On level up, this value increases by 1.
• The Tiger: Increases Tak by 25. On level up, this value increases by 25.
• Blessed Glyph: Increases Ni by 4. On level up, this value increases by 4.
• Apparatus: Triggers the support die on the left. On level up, transforms a random numeric face into this type.
• Magnification Glyph: Increases the value of all numeric faces on the die by 4. On level up, this value increases by 4.
• Glyph of Sinking: On trigger and level up, applies Avoidance to a random face without a rune (excluding itself).
• Zenith Glyph: When a 6 triggers, adds 30 Tak. On level up, this value increases by 30.
• Glyph of Voraciousness: Gains a level on trigger. If triggering at level 5, grants 15 gold and becomes a 15.
• Catalyzed Glyph: Triggers whenever any die rerolls.
• Ethereal Glyph: Gains a level on trigger. At level 5, makes a random card ethereal and becomes 0.
