Microtopia - v1.0.9b Update

Hey all!

Get yourselves ready for another update! This time though we bring some new exciting features!
Introducing the radio stockpile and the hazmat digger!



The radio stockpile is a new special kind of storage building. It has the capability to send construction materials to buildings on other islands! Keep it stocked with a specific material and you’ll always be able to build with it, no matter where you are on the map.
This is a pretty big shift in the balance. It removes a major constraint and will likely shake up progression in different ways, but I’m confident these changes will be for the better!

The hazmat digger is a new ant caste that fills an important gap in the colony’s workforce. Now you can safely dig those hazardous deposits found in later biomes without risking your other ants.
Both of these features can be unlocked in the tech tree. Find all other changes in the changelog!

  • Added a new building: the radio stockpile. Which allows to easily build structures on other islands.
  • Added a new ant caste: the hazmat digger. A radiation resistant ant that can do mining tasks.
  • You can now flag stockpiles to not be taken from by smart dispensers.
  • "Place dispenser" hotkey can now also be used to assign dispensers.
  • Added "+" and "-" buttons to gate slider UI.

  • Caught several errors causing all ants to stop moving, one in the assembler and one in the catapult.
  • Renamed "ion workers" to "battery workers".
  • Fixed the click UI not working correctly with a very low framerate.

  • Fixed mismatch in building percentages.
  • Tweaked facility and smart dispenser collider, can now be placed together more neatly.
  • Fixed typo in Japanese.

Microtopia - v1.0.8 Update

Hey ants!

Today we bring you another large bug fixing update!
Along with a smoother experience, the update also brings a new quality of life feature, that I think many of you will come to appreciate.

In this update, whenever an item has fallen to the ground, you'll be able to simply click on it to send it to any stockpile available on the island!

  • If an item has fallen to the ground, you can now click on it to send it to a suitable stockpile (if any).
  • Sending items from stockpile to stockpile can now be done even if the target stockpile can't receive everything.
  • Added a warning message if an ant tries to go into a building while carrying an item or is not the right caste.
  • Catapults won't display a warning any longer if the target stockpile can't recieve the item.
  • Tweaked recycler yields of some drones and heavy worker.
  • Can now disable fog in settings.

  • Fixed flight animation of later gynes.
  • Easier building requirements for the recycler.
  • Fixed a tiling problem in a toxic wasteland ground
  • Imrpoved dissolver and larva booster functionality to prevent them from getting stuck
  • All dissolver recipes cost only 1 acid now.
  • Fixed an error with plants to breaked being able to save.
  • Fixed acid press wind down animation.
  • "Ghost trails" (command trails that lost their owner) are now cleaned up on load and will be less spooky.
  • Fixed a few recycler yields, giving the proper liquid.
  • Fixed unmineable ancient deposits (they will be removed)
  • Fixed a nullref with launched ants, causing them to be stuck mid air.
  • The stockpile gate is unlocked way earlier in the tech tree and no longer costs yellow diamonds.
  • Placing building on an ant ending its command trail doesn't freeze the game anymore
  • Fixed build progress billboard showing inside a few buildings.
  • Added a message when a building requires a dispenser.
  • Fixed dissolver being able to receive acid directly.
  • Fixed possibility of the facility getting stuck with some recipes.
  • Recycler should now pile-up its yield a bit more efficiently.

  • Fixed ants skipping action points when high speed/low framerate
  • Increased fluid container capacity, changed how to sphere size is calculated.
  • Fixed jet drone not being able to do anything.
  • Changed main trail description in English, no longer costs the notorious yellow diamond.
  • Tweaked recycler yields for a few ants (watch out some might drop acid).
  • Smaller changes and optimizations.

Microtopia - v1.0.6a Update

Hello!
A short message from us, the developers of Microtopia! We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming activity on the game, either here or on the game's Discord since Microtopia’s release one week ago. It’s fantastic to see all the ideas and suggestions coming in. We’re also very happy with the friendly and helpful tone of communication among everyone!
We want to assure you that we’re keeping a close eye on all bug reports. Some of the urgent ones have already been fixed and are addressed in this quick-fix patch. (find the changelog below)
There are also some other fixes and changes being currently tested, but those one felt urgent enough to push them today!
